lol imagine complaining about keeping the old neighborhood the same in Shenzhen of all places. The city itself is barely 50 years old.

There's plenty I miss about the place, but having left China in 2018 I suspect if I ever went back I'd be disappointed. All the places I liked seem to have been replaced by louder, dumber versions of themselves, eg La Casa is now a noisy club
