The first Silent Hill movie accomplished what many Videogame movies never could. A movie based solely on the authentic look and feel of the source material it came from and managed to deliver an entirely new story but still very much flavored in the same style and overall story telling of the game it as based on. Hope they deliver with this new film.

For me what tied it all together is that they actually put tracks from the game in it. That was the key. For me atleast.

The aesthetic and music from the first film is what it did great as for a horror movie it falls quite flat unfortunately. Hope this they try a bit harder as to what made the games great in the first place

Sean Bean's character in the end DID suffer in the movie but rather than being killed, he was DEPRIVED of it. A fate worse than death is a fate that LACKS the possibility of DEATH, a release from suffering...

They should have done this from the beginning, make a movie based on silent hill 2, you literally had Sean bean who looks like James too and could pull off some of the great scenes from the game. They seem to be cutting out the silent hill revelation movie so maybe it could be Sean bean again looking for Sharon his wife and the main character from the first movie.

This is a great BTS. It's great to see how they're being inspired and respectful of the series, but collaborating and developing on how they can make a great movie with this series. It goes without saying that what works in a videogame does not necessarily work in a movie so it's not as straightforward as many would expect. Forgot what my point was, sorry if you read to the end of this comment.

The first movie is still possibly one of the best video game adaptations. On the other hand, fellow Silent Hill fans might find the film "Fantasma d'Amore" (i.e. Ghost of Love), starring Marcello Mastroianni and Romy Schneider, to be more truthful to Silent Hill 2...given that it happened to be a direct source of inspiration for that game.

The first movie was flawed but at the same time you knew it honored the games and the atmosphere was perfect. The special effects were fantastic. The second movie had its moments but strayed from the path. Hopefully this movie blows the first two away.

The first movie have soo many sequel potential. Like maybe the husband could go back to search for Rose would be Silent Hill 2 game like. The prison bus passing Silent Hill could be taken from Downpour. The truck driver Travis could have told his experience as in Origin. Wonder how they will make this 2nd movie. Seems like it will be all new character not related to the first movie yet the title made it feel like it will. Can't wait. I'm ok if its all new character/actor/actress since the 2nd game isnt really well related as to the 1st and 3rd game was.
