De Graafschap is a well respected club in The Netherlands. Very distinct club and fan culture. Fanatic fan base, great history. What other already written, the Guus you referred to is no other than Guus Hiddink, former manager of PSV, Real Madrid and Chelsea and the national teams of The Netherlands, South Korea, Australia among many other clubs and NT teams he managed. Very cool club, even they play in the second division and don’t do well the last couple of years.
Fun fact, when you go to Varsseveld (10/15 minute drive from Doetinchem) The welcome sign is also in Korean, this is because Hiddink did such a good job over there.
4.43 Guus Hiddink is a legend in South-Korea too and fans of PSV, the Dutch national team, Real Madrid and the Australian national team might have fond memories of him also.
What a game! What a video! I'm officially now a De Graafschap fan after this game and will follow how they do in the league. As a fellow Lazio fan I hope our team does good this season. I will be attending Lazio - Verona on September 15 :)
As A Duisburg Fan, I loved seeing this (we have a fan friendship with Doetinchem). Hopefully both our clubs move up this season. (both clubs blue and white with a zebra mascot lol)🤍💙🦓
Josh, as a Brit you should visit the upcoming 'airborne match' in Arnhem in september. Every year we commemorate the battle of Arnhem of 1944 and honour the British soldiers who died for our freedom. Last year there were still some British veterans at the game even though there are over 100 years old now. The club invites them every year. This year its the 80th commemoration and therefore a special one.
I was flabbergasted when i saw you kicked out the first time. That is not as i know my club. The club, city and area (Achterhoek) are well known for their hospitality and friendly people. Glad they set this straight! Was a great game for a neutral footballfan😂 Hope to see you back at our small and football oozing ground.
De Graafschap is the only club left of the clubs that were founded as a professional club at the start of professional football in The Netherlands in 1953. De Graafschap is named after the County of Zutphen (De Graafschap=The County) and represents the Achterhoek (literally "Back Corner", etymological translated: "After Hook") region, which more or less is the same erea.
fun fact, the player that scored the 4-3 was last year on the squad from Volendam, so he scored that amazing goal against his old club. thank you for putting our club in the sunshine! come back for the match against Vitesse
In the middle of a forest? You defenetly have to visit Stuttgarter Kickers. Stadium is surounded by Forest, the TV Tower and its germanys oldest Stadiuum that is still in use but it not looks like a ruin. Instead the team take good care about there Stadium. Oh and second devision atmosphere in League 4
We changed the logo to the originial logo, on fan request. So not a shame but legendary of the club to listen to the fans and change the logo back to the original.
What a score that was!! Now that Vitesse has gone downhill De Graafschap is a great 2nd team of Gelderland after my team NEC Nijmegen! 👌 great vid man!!
@@JT026nummer 1 zijn jullie lang niet meer. Gebaseerd op historische prestaties zijn jullie de nummer 1… Op dit moment zijn jullie de waardige nummer 3 van Gelderland
The floodlights being turned on during the day has a good reason, it's so the broadcaster (the game was broadcasted live on television) has no issues with the brighter sides of the pitch (where there's plenty of sun) and the darker parts of the pitch (because of the shadows). You picked the perfect match, this was both nerf wrecking and amazing when the winning goal flies in at the last second.
Josh the last experiance from ADO Den Haag was good but the team is really a club you need to watch at 20:00 not 16:30 thats why there werent many fans
