Poor Eddy. I felt stressed just watching him do his friends make up when he had none on himself. I knew something was wrong. He usually does others make up AFTER his own so I felt his stress.

tbh the people that were organizing the event should have handled it more professionally. if they excepted you to do so much then they should have informed you of what you were going to do instead of throwing you into this situation. you handled it professionally and didn't cause any unneeded stress on everyone but I wish you were able to take stress off of yourself. I would have hated going through that.
my blood was boiling; my aunt is an hair/makeup artist and i've seen her in that kind of situation for family/friends' events. edward is too nice. i don't know anything abt the manager but i kinda wanna blame him... i mean, where was he? the accommodation & food thing at least could have been avoided. it's just how it looks like from here...
They took the piss with you, they need to stop taking you for granted! Learn to say no, put yourself first sometimes! I would have walked out and let everyone do their own makeup!!

Did GTI's management pay you for doing their makeup for the event? Bc if not they absolutely took advantage of you. From their POV, they essentially didn't have to pay to get makeup done on their talent. Next time, even if it is your friends, you need to consider what you're getting out of it apart from a good time - if someone asks you to do their makeup, you say "okay, here are my rates, will you pay for travel and accommodation, etc". Bc you're using products you've paid for out of your own pocket on them, and you deserve to be paid for your time! Even if you were paid, you definitely need to have a chat with your management team about time management and communication - it sounds like they're not doing their job as well as they could. Not saying they're 100% in the wrong, it definitely sounds like a perfect storm of shit happening, but the lines of communication between everyone should have been more open. Sorry for kinda ranting in the comments, i'm a MUA and I hate to see other people being taken advantage of - makeup is a career where it's very easy to undervalue your own time and skills, and it's so so important to stand up for yourself as an artist and professional.

No offence but your manager kinda sucks - they should be on top of everything and they couldn't even make sure you had a room and knew about it!! And Treasure Hunter sounded like a mess. Tbh, Treasure hunter did you dirty. I understand wanting you to help out with makeup so they dont have to pay someone they didnt know to do it. But if you are a creator for them and they don't let you know where exactly you are staying ahead of time, time to get your own shit together since you will also be preforming, and not giving you what you need then thats just some bullshit. I love you Edward but this is one of those times where I wish Diva Eddy would've come alive and been like "um no actually sweety i do have a room and you can come by since it looks like you need that nose contour snatched". I wish it were as simple as im making it out to be as well. Also if you weren't paid for doing everyones makeup than thats some serious fucked up shit. Ima need to spill this tea all over they lap sis. Regardless I am glad that throughout all the stress you had some good moments too and im proud of you for focusing on those~
The whole time he was going his friends makeup I was stressed out?? Like I do gigs for musical theatre and the like and I hate cluttered spaces with a bunch of people getting ready because it’s so... constricting? And I got that same energy. Then Edward goes on to explain and it ALL made sense. I feel so bad that he had that happen. It was both a misunderstanding and a lack of professionalism from the event organizers. And I am glad Edward shared this with us because as much as he can talk to his friends it is also good to clear things up and in a way make a stand. Next time. Whoever invites our boy better be bloody prepared and DELIVER if Edward is going to bust his arse off working and helping others. K.
That friend of yours that went like "you don't have a room"...maybe they were just confused but it really wasn't in their place to tell you that. Though I'm not sure why you didn't seek to clear any doubts out with your manager immediately after. It sounds like it was a frustrating day but you pulled through and I'm sure you did the best with what you could! The girl could have been more understanding of the circumstances in my opinion. Eddie, they totally took advantage of you! And at the same time they kind of screwed those other artists over too. If they had properly hired you then you'd have the equipment to deal with it all. This is also why I always bring my own basic kit as an entertainer to gigs. If things aren't going as expected, then I know I can help out by at least doing my own complexion work. If they're really going wrong then I do my whole look. I learned this after a MUA gave me drag eyebrows before it was insta-necessary, which was awful because I have naturally full brows. I hate going to gigs where things are uncertain or confusing because then they always blame the artists instead of the organisers. 🤨

About your rant: God I'm so sorry that you were in that situation. That whole story just made my anxiety flare up. On the bright side, you have a platform where you're respected and where you can vent. I hope that took away some of the stress for you. Keep doing what you're doing
Aoora looked like he was livin it up!!! Also that entire situation was a mess. You are more than reasonable being upset about how it played out. They should have organized it so that people came to you for the makeup, especially since you were sort of doing it because you could and are nice. They put you in a position they shouldn’t have. I’m glad you made it through, sorry you were dissatisfied with everything. But don’t worry about how you “look” to us by talking about it. It’s easy for people to forget that these events and stuff are often patched together through insanity. I think it’s good for observers to get a reality check about that.
That whole rant made me upset for Edward. Especially the fact that people just kept asking him for favors and kept rushing him. As someone who has done people’s makeup. It is not an easy thing to just setup then have to pack up and go from place to place quickly. I’d be frustrated too. The stress from wanting to do a good job with the makeup and knowing you haven’t done what they wanted can be irritating. Not being in a situation where things are going as planned is understandably stressful. I wouldn’t have handled it as well as Edward did.

I get where you’re coming from, I strongly hate miscommunication esp when it’s people’s job. She should not have told you that without being sure about it. And I can relate so hard about not starting the day clean and fresh it changes the whole vibe!

I understand how stressful it could be. Sounds like you handled it ok, even though you were having to work under raw conditions, and helping so many and not getting to do what you needed todo for your self. It is ok to vent and get it off your chest. It helps, and I feel like you handled your situation well.
I'm a year late, but this rant spoke to me on another level, sis! As a newly graduated cosmetology student, I have been in that same spot of not being able to pleace a client in terms of hair, etc. while the client is someone demanding and knows that they like/want. It's a super stressful situation, but we handle it the best way we can

Korea seems to have a lot of High In Events to promote their products and etc . I saw alot of influencer always attending events and stuff . I wonder if it's like the normal thing like a culture there? I feel that they really go all the way out when it comes to marketing . They put alot of effort in the details , the food , decorations and basically everything even the invitation card.
