"This has been one of the videos that got me into video editing. It was out around the time I had moved on from backyard wrestling. This also represents a good time in my life. All credit goes to the original creators."
This is the third iteration of the Dance Dance Revolution Project. The Dance Dance Revolution Project is a collaboration of many anime music video editors to create a massive, non-stop 70-minute anime music video set to DDR Non-stop Megamixes. DDR3 uses the Megamix from the 4th Mix soundtrack. The various tracks were edited and compiled between January of 2003 and the project's premiere at Anime Weekend Atlanta 9 on September 26, 2003.
Project Lead: MisterFurious (Brad DeMoss)
Admin Lead: Kusoyaro (Hsien Lee)
Tech Lead: Quu (Patrick Bohnet)
Final Project Compilation: MisterFurious, Vlad G Pohnert, Nightowl (Nathan Bezner), Quu

OMG THANK YOU!!! I used to watch this on Google Video before RU-vid became a thing! I could’ve sworn the Spirited Away one at the end was in the middle, but I guess not XD

Thank you so much for your contribution. If you don't mind me asking; what got you into the project? How did it start? I first discovered this at Anime Central (Il) and was blown away, so a bit of your experience is a welcome addition.

@@Nytmaer There was a yahoo group, the community was much more close nit back then. We pretty much talked with Brad Demoss the coordinator and picked tracks. A listed started for DDR projects around the time of the first. So once we we're on one chances are you'd be on the next if you didn't flake. I was on 3/4 of the projects.

@@Nytmaer From the newsletter i wrote around the time Case of: The DDR projects Know as the first multi-creator project, one of the things that got in the way of this project was the number of people involved. When it came down to it, in the case of all of the DDR projects, people dropped. Usually near the end of the due date. This caused a lot of havoc on the first DDR project and caused many editors to have to do multiple tracks on short notice. The end result on the first project was several rushed tracks, which lowered the overall quality of the entire project as a whole. On a final note, the project did not start on time, because of compatibility issues between Mac/PC formatting. As a result, the project did not start on time at the con with the first render and had to be re-rendered while people waited. One last thing that happened in the first DDR project was the use of the clerks cartoon scene in 3 separate parts. This lead to the creation of a list, to keep track of what sources were used for each track. The solution to this was to have replacement editors on the 2nd DDR project, of which I was one of them. While I was happy to make it into the project due to drops, at the same time this put a lot of pressure on me to do something with not a lot of time to do it. The solution which was also agreed on by the project head, was to let me use the first DDR project as a kind of ‘last time on DDR’ reminder. This worked, but still not having any time to really work out anything since I didn’t even know what audio I was using until the last minute, was not a fun experience to go through and was very stressful. On DDR3, things were organized even more. Due to the popularity, there were a lot more backup editors and it seemed like everything was working out fine… until one day. It turned out that the audio had not been correctly timed out. The small 5 seconds that was needed with the time coding ( so that everything was synced up correctly and gave time for transitions), was not there. As a result, those who had finished their track early, ended up having to redo some parts of them to match the new audio time given. The issue of drops was covered with the backup editors in time without to much hassle that year. With DDR4, the project had several snags in it, in that people were not giving any progress reports. This went on for months up until close to the deadline. Even with backup editors, it was a rush to the finish to find people to fill the still empty tracks. DDR4 was rendering at AWA that year, where it premiered. Right before the project aired, Brad Demoss, the project leader had an announcement. This would be the last DDR project. And like that, the DDR projects were officially over.
