My mum let me stay up late to watch this with her, she sadly gone to, this brings back alot of happy memorys for me hope it does for you to.

I remember how my mom would not let me watch it at first because she felt it was on too late at night. She soon learned that it was a battle she would not win 😉.

Except season 5. I didn't think it was possible to mess up a Mike Post theme but that arrangement is purely awful.

I remember in the UK they used the season 4 theme all the way through season 5. When watching repeats on cable I was amazed how awful it was.

The german version uses the first intro through seasons 1-5 as well

@@TVNostalgia1978 They shot the finale without knowing it would be the last episode. They actually planned for Season 5 to end on a cliffhanger.

Yeah I do remember reading that somewhere..They also planned a spin-off series based around Sam's son but that never got off the ground. I think it was a brilliant series and Scott Bakula is a great actor, its just a shame the TV network didnt give them more notice or at least a send off episode.

@@TVNostalgia1978 The spin-off series was to revolve around his daughter. Considering what they had planned for Season 6 and what may have been shot for the proper Season 5 ending (this is still being confirmed by the fans) perhaps the show would have got worse. Your video is great however you need to add the prologue/credits of Season 1 as well as the Saga Sell for Season 2.

I agree, I was a kid when it was on and I think it educated and entertained. Also I think that any sequel needs to be respectful of the original. Too many reboots/re-imaginings dont even reference the original and I think that is a shame and a severe missed opportunity. 🙂

@@TVNostalgia1978 I think any sort of continuation of the franchise needs to be a sequel. it doesn't have to be Sam's kid.. it could be Al's kid.. (his history being completely different with the ending, its possible) it could just be the US government taking a revised crack at it with new tech since the original experiment. -- Maybe Sam does something that alters time in a way that is both detected (some how) and has a bad side effect on the future so they have to send someone after him to try and figure it out.. fix it.. undo it.. and it leads to a continuing adventure of both trying to find him and assuming his unintended mission of setting right what once went wrong. Maybe he appears in the second half of the two hour debut and he gives some sort of hint of "something bigger" happening but before he can go into detail, he's leaped (not of his own control) so that sets up where he can appear sporadically for series Arc episodes.

Unfortunately, family-centric wholesomeness is no longer allowed in any modern media, as the strong family unit is the #1 enemy of… well, you know who.

I totally agree. Having just finished the series on DVD, I have to believe that the filmmakers themselves were sensitive to the theme change, and the affect that had on the audience throughout Season 5, because - very surprisingly - in the series finale, Mirror Image, they brought the original "Quantum Leap" theme back for one final reprise. I'm fully convinced that was done purely for the audience's sake, as a way of bringing nostalgia and emotional closure to the whole experience... it was hard for me not to tear up when I noticed that was the theme being played!!!

It has grown on me over the years.

I liked the fifth season theme, except for the "ba da da da da daa daa" because in this version it sounds.. like an animated sitcom.

NBC refused to do a season six hence why the show ended on a copout

I literally just posted this on a video of the season 5 intro but I guess I'll just copy and paste. I know I hated this version when they changed it back in 93, but it's been 27 years, I don't know if it's Stockholm syndrome or what but I kind of love it now, it is an absolute banger.

I like them all, and S5 with more zing in the beginning!

The problem with the intro is that it's out of sync. Universal really need to fix that one day.

I actually liked the 5th season intro, but I know that's not the popular opinion. IMHO what did the show in was when Sam started leaping into famous people, like Dr. Ruth (which I thought was a weak story), Lee Harvey Oswald and Elvis. I thought the show was at it's best when Sam leapt into ordinary folks, but then given the premise of the show I guess he would have leapt into famous people at some point anyway. Regardless I enjoyed all 5 seasons of the show....

@@davidrofulowitz7538 The Lee Harvey Oswald episode was good and that should have been the ONLY one that had him leap into someone who was famous or infamous in Oswald's case. The Dr. Ruth one was really stupid IMO. Elvis was ok.

@@alucard624 The Dr. Ruth episode was just plain bad, and the season 4 episode when Sam leapt into a chimp was a little unbelievable for me. A couple of my favorite episodes came from season 3...Black and White on Fire and Private Dancer.

@@davidrofulowitz7538 i liked the dr ruth episode in season five but the thing about it that never made any sense was why did they have sam leap into doctor ruth so al could meet her in the future to help him with his girlfriend tina if they were going to have sam save al's marriage in the episode mirror image and get him back together with his first wife beth that didn't make any sense. i'm glad sam changed history and saved al's marriage and got him and beth back together. him meeting dr ruth in the future to help him with the problems with his girlfriend tina in the dr ruth episode doesn't make any sense if they were just going to break up so he could go back to his first wife beth. they probably didn't know they were going to have al and beth get back together til the very last episode but i still think that al and beth getting together made the dr ruth episode pointless it's pointless because him and tina broke up anyway what i think they should have done was if al and tina were going to break up they should have let it happen so they could get al and beth back together at the end of season five if they did that that would have made a lot more sense because al and his first wife getting back together made the dr ruth episode completely pointless even though it was a good episode and i liked. i am glad sam saved al's marriage in mirror image she's the woman he's supposed to be with.

@@coreynance3874 IMO you made a very good point, and that's something I never thought about. In hindsight, Sam saving Al's marriage in the last episode did seem to make the Dr. Ruth episode pointless.

I remembered that movie and was so surprised that Scott Bakula on there. To me at the time watching that movie, i don't see see Paul Blake at all. It's Sam Beckett playing cowboy/football player. 😆 *wooshhhh leap!*

They were kind of in trouble with the ending. They had planned to end it on a cliffhanger that may or may not have been filmed, and continue next season. When it turned out it would be the last season they basically had to wrap it up in that last scene. They could have I guess had text saying he did return home but that would have felt like a cheat so probably the best they could have done. It ended up never happening but in theory leaving it that way they could have brought it back or done some TV movies to continue. Was a bad note though even if they probably couldn't have done any better.

I loved the last episode. Had me in tears at the time.

Early on the intro was a bit a longer and did include the line that he suffers from partial amnesia. It also seems like the opening to the next episode actually included a voice-over from Sam and some short clips of his last leap leading into his current leap.

@@davidrofulowitz7538 wasn't there a line in one of the seasons that mentioned money💰 too like on the intro's for seasons three four and five debroah pratt says theorizing you can time travel within your own lifetime Dr Sam Beckett stepped into the quantum leap accelerator and "vanished" but in like the season two intro it's says he was under pressure from other scientist to prove his theories or lose funding Dr Sam Beckett stepped into the quantum leap accelerator and vanished. the narration went like this Deborah Pratt: theorizing you can time travel within your own lifetime Dr Sam Beckett under pressure from other scientist to prove his theories or lose funding stepped into the quantum leap accelerator and "vanished" too be honest i like both narrations equally this narration might be better but i think it was the season two narration that brought up the other scientist taking the money from the project if Dr Beckett didn't prove his "theories."

I agree, there was alot more that could have been done, maybe the reboot/reimagining that is coming will do more? Thanks
