Correct me if I'm wrong please. The sequence in downshifting is: hold clutch > throttle and downshift simultaneously > release clutch

Will Malliotis this may be a stupid question but do you rev match when up shifting? If so how would you do that?

@@ZaZa-ot9ku well it is almost the same as downshifting... but when you put it on a higher gear you don't wanna be on high rpm just give a little gas while clutching and shifting and hold the gas when clutch released. It will give you up to 4 kmh in an instand if you clutch and revmatch it right then just accellerate and do the same. I tried for about 3 days it feels like an automatic gearbox hahah. Downshifting is a little harder cuz you need to know which rpm you need in your car and in what speed it can hold the right rpm. Just practice it but select a street where nearly no traffic exists.

@@channasnakehead4051 Do you release the gas like the clutch? In the video it looks like he blip and after releases the gas when down shifting

@@ketc2467 it is basically holding your foot to the gas and clutch it. It is also called "flat-foot-shifting" write it on yt there is a vid how it looks like. Remember that your clutch is going to get more stressed out than normal. Do it only when you really wanna know your times 0-100kmh or 100-200.

@66vehicles I accelerate slightly right before I take my foot off the clutch when upshifting and then once it is completely off the bite point then I accelerate like normal.

i dont understand where are you rev matching when upshifting? you are just shifting normally at the right time nothing else?

Well just to make you understand: when you hit the clutch you are still on your gas pedal giving just a bit of speed gain when you upshifted and clutched in right just like the automatic cars do. Example: 3rd ->4th gear// 3rd 60 kmh clutch and still a little on the gas pedal shift at the same time by clutch to 4th gear would give it 62 or 64 km/h in an instand.

Bune videoclipurile și utile, totuși ma așteptam să aud ceva și despre dublă debreiere când faci rev match, și cum ajuta la diminuarea frecării asupra inelelor sicronizatoare, și cuplarea mai lină, mai ales în cazul dog box. Spor!

So if you are rev-matching well, does that mean you don't have to ease off the clutch (while easing in the throttle) after changing gears? I feel like my clutch pedal-release takes too long and am wondering if this is the reason why.

yes if u rev match u can release the the clutch quickly this is the case for downshifting. btw if ur going to upshift but ur on low RPMs then u will have to ease of the clutch, but if ur on high RPM's then u can let go of the clutch quickly unless ur in 1st or 2nd gear

downshifting - full throttle for a short time. exercise. it differs from car to car. Upshifting - no throttle - just shift quickly

When upshift, do you start pressing on the gas pedal before clutch is completely released? Sometimes I find it difficult to rev match upshift because it takes a while to go into third from second and the rev drops too much during this period so I end up having to blip throttle slightly

i think you can just go higher in revs when you have to change from 2to3 , and in that way your revs will not drop so much

Hey, nice video. I saw many videos doing upshifts through double clutching. What are your thoughts about it? In this video you are rev matching without double clutching, are you not going hard on your clutch doing this?

Nope. It takes a few weeks to learn your car's throttle perfectly. After that, you can downshift perfectly, smoothly, without double clutching. Double clutching slows you down, rev matching helps you downshift faster. My clutch is in excellent condition :-)

Some of my shifts weren't perfect, I admit that, but practice make it perfect over time.

Thank you for your fast response. I have been doing rev matching when shifting my gear down without double clutching but not shifting up. I saw these videos on double clutching when upshifting a couple of weeks ago, and I tried it one time on one Sunday afternoon, but it was quite confusing especially I am used to doing rev matching when shifting down without double clutching. When I saw your video earlier, I thought this was easier for me than double clutching since just like what I have been doing in downshifting, I don't have to release the clutch while in neutral before upshifting.

when you can do a video rev matching again with those same boots only doing pedal cam for 10 minutes just teaching the pedals and your boots

When you want to go fast or drive aggressively. If you drive slowly, normally, regularly, you can slowly release the clutch and everything is smooth. For enthusiasts or if you want to shift fast and smooth, you need to rev match.
