What if my customer chooses not to include his 1,000 deducible in the final check I pick up when the job is completed. This happened to me and I called the adjuster and told the adjuster the customer didn’t include his deductible in the final check. He told me to go kick rocks and the insurance company doesn’t cares less if he pays or not, not their business. That’s between me and customer

That's correct. That's between you and the customer. But it counts as non-payment of the account and you can file a lien on the house or send it to collections. If you have a good contract, you also can void the product warranty and your workmanship warranty.

Great video but I still do not see what the problem is. Is the problem that these roofers are charging 15k for a 10k worth of job and keeping the difference? who would I as a homeowner call to tell me a more precise price to replace the roof? roofer is gonna charge as much as possible and ins adjuster will not want to pay out.

A roofer paying a deductible for a homeowner is insurance fraud and is illegal in most states

Going thru claim process now for IAN, insurance not yet inspected roof, but here in Florida, my hurricane deductible is 7500, or 2% of my home insured value. If the cost of roof is maybe 15-17K, guess who is paying almost half??? I am!!!! Terrible that insurance costs keep rising and coverage is declining very fast, especially for roofs, wind damage hurricanes and storms etc.......

Yes, I agree. Your costs to buy the insurance don't go down, but the benefit you get from them definitely decreases. It's a sad situation.

Customers love kick backs, and actually stay away from contractors that want to collect the entire amount. Its all business and truth is contractors, insurance companies and the insured are always defrauding eachother.
@homesteadroofing
@homesteadroofing 2 года назад
Not sure what your point is. You're saying that contractors who want to collect the full amount that they agreed to are defrauding the homeowner? If so, I completely disagree.

The deductible is taken first from the ins ..

Of course it is.

So then how can the roofer charge for it again? Insanity.
@tomstevens7452
@tomstevens7452 15 дней назад
@@danpena7922 It isn't collected from the isurance it is left off of the amount they pay. Claim is 15k, deductible is 1k, Insurance is only going to pay 14k for the claim. You signed a contract for 15k. You owe the difference.
