Thank you. I did read ACIM back in 2010. I wasn't quite ready for it. At the time, I hadn't realized how much the religiosity of the Christian church had a hold on me. I separated from the church in body only. Now, that I'm truly free, I'm thinking I should redo the course. I'm not certain because I don't feel that strong unction in my gut to get it. I'm meditating on the matter. Note: I'm responding as I'm listening. I'm at the "What's next?" phase. I'm there BEFORE things have "manifested". My primary desire is to be in a certain country. Daily I study the country's language and culture. I see myself in the other country almost as much as I see myself here in Albuquerque. One evening, I saw myself on a bench in the other country. I had accomplished my goal: and I heard my spirit ask myself, "Now what?" Meissa, I just got an epiphany. How can I reach you?

Jesus was so worried about his message that he didn't write a single word by himself and there is no bible verse which he commands that his word should be written on paper. All we know about Jesus was written by other people.

Did the ACIM complete the course it took a year and will do it again! I know the Bible inside out and used to have Bible studies and still follow Christ and also discovered God still communicates truth to those open to it and it didn't end with the books voted into the bible that took a few hundred years to settle on!

I had a similar experience when I was actively trying to work with and read ACIM (30+ years ago). I would try to read one page, and usually I couldn't get any further than MAYBE half a page before I felt absolutely overloaded with information, and just had absolutely no place to put any more, and would re-read what I had just read because I couldn't really remember what I had just read, and usually felt as though I had no clear idea what it was talking about. I actually found it incredibly frustrating. I also found it to be what I can only describe now as "flat." I eventually got to the point where I could only read a few sentences, and if I tried to push myself to read more it would literally put me to sleep. And eventually I just stopped trying to read it. At the time I was also studying lots of other stuff, and I simply put ACIM aside, and just never picked it back up. And now I don't even know where the actual physical book got to. it literally escaped me...

In Advaita it would be said that there is nothing to forgive because you are not the doer, and nor is the other person. So believing there is something to forgive is just an illusion, it is unreal and therefore a part of egoic consciousness, not part of the Atman that is the I Am. So forgiveness is not a necessary act to release the other from some action that harmed you, but brings a point of realisation to you that you are perceiving the act as something that is real. So it is a kind of red-flag, a wake-up cll to you that you are living an illusion, and therefore need to let go of that illusion.

I get stressed out and struggle and my humanistic self gets in the way of my relationships and I do try everyday and I get irritated that I am irritated with others. But we all have ego. To have an ego is essential to our very makeup. It will define who we are and how we connect with others. I do understand that ego can get "out of hand." or someone has an inflated ego....Ego becomes an issue when it becomes overpowering. Everyone has an ego, whether big or small. The ego operates based on the reality principle, which works to satisfy the id's desires in a manner that is realistic and socially appropriate. For example, if a person cuts you off in traffic, the ego PREVENTS you from chasing down the car and physically attacking the offending driver. Im missing something. Can anyone help me out?

You had such great questions Melissa. It helps a lot advancing into the meander of obstacles. We have a long way to go the reach the end of the delta to the open.

I would like to listen to this interview again to write down some of the phrases like “the only belief worth having is forgiveness” and “look for original innocence, not original sin”. There is a grey area for me in the discussion about manifestation and living for god versus doing what we want. In my experience, when we are manifesting consciously, our vision for our lives is the same as what god wants anyway. And there is no difference between what I want versus what god wants. So when you say you were a puppet and what you wanted was secondary, I wonder if actually you’re referring the “I” as in the ego. But that’s not really the true “I”. The true “I” is the “I am”. So when you’re manifesting consciously it’s like the “I” and the “I am” are one with each other. There was a precious bit of wisdom in what you were saying over all about this topic. You basically said the let god inhabit your body and will and heart and let that live your life. But I think you forgot to say that when you get to that point, the ego “I” will also be happy about it. So there is no conflict anymore between what I want and what god wants. I think you made it sound like there was a separation between the I and the I am as far as what we want. If we are manifesting consciously , I don’t think there is a separation.

Great interview, though I wish you wouldn’t have let him avoid the question about reconciling ACIM with NDE’s. The two really don’t reconcile. I would imagine he would say it’s just another part of the dream, which is in a sense true but… In so many of these NDE’s, Jesus or God are involved sending people back to the world. I’ve never heard him answer this directly. Would be interesting to hear how these can possibly come together. I don’t see how

Still don’t understand how to deal with someone yelling at you

From his description, I find ACIM has a lot of similarities with Advaita Vedanta. There is transcendentalist and eternalist framing, "real and unreal", "that which does not come and go", that which has "name and form" (or appears in space and time) as an "appearance", and hence "unreal". From the Vedas there are also the realization, "there is only Brahman". There is a certain level of truth to all of this. But it is not the only one. (E.g., Buddhism is a separate discussion.) As for Jesus channels, ACIM is the most famous one. But I have found other ones, such as Pamela Kribbe (narrated by Dorothy Shelton), which is strong on the history of the evolution of the subtle planes, and evolution of souls. And there is also Gina Lake's Christ channeled teachings. She's a bit of a nondual-Christian hybrid. But a lot of the assumptions would fit better, with most NDE's. It seems all of the channels, with the name "Jesus" (Christ, or Yeshua), have slightly different personalities, flavors, as well as messages. (Something to check out, if one feels inclined.)

So then why do the spiritual masters that exist allow the distortion of what Jesus taught. The dominant thoughts about Christianity or any other religion seems wholly distorted. It's almost as if Jesus was a made up character based on Yeshua who did actually exist. They even changed his name!

Hello everyone...I feel like I'm going crazy lol...I'm reading a course in miracles more and more now...I realize that there are Christians who do read and like A course in miracles too...but I'm tempted to leave mainstream Christianity though....

There is enough evidence today from various sources and natures to support that claim by Jesus. That the Creator had no beginning and has no end, and since we are of that same nature "in the image of God" neither do we have a beginning or an end. Jesus was just a more perfect image of God. Even Quantum Physics supports this concept, in that Space Time has no reality or existence except what we give it. That God and humanity really is the I AM THAT I AM, or the ALPHA AND OMEGA the beginning and the end. Jung's theory about the nature of humanity has: a "conscious mind" from which concepts arise including a "conceptual self" or Ego, then there are "individual unconscious" and "collective unconscious" which is where the Real Self or the "image of God" resides. Jesus was referring to THAT "which creates change" but is itself "changeless", or THAT "from which knowing arises" but is itself "unknowable". The ONE SOURCE of ALL EXPERIENCEABLE THINGS.
