I bought an opal from Justin and it's magnificent. It's at the jeweler now going into it's custom setting and it's going to be a spectacular ring...Black Opal Direct isn't a "discount" opal dealer but the quality is second to none and he's very trustworthy. Was willing to work with me every step of the way providing extra videos of the opals I was considering and his support staff are marvelous. Highly recommended.
@@carolharris2357just keep checking up on his site and eventually you will! I found a 0.70 carot dark opal (mostly blue play of color) for only $50, marked down from $100. I eventually found a vintage silver bolo tie with a setting that was the perfect size for it surprisingly!
@@blackopaldirectI agree some stuff you cut is nice but you way over value them considering most of the weight of them is poch people don't pay for poch like the gem cut in this vid 90% of the stones weight is valueless poch
Oh Justin. You've outdone yourself. The opals were nice. The rap was BRILLIANT! LOL! Better get a record company on board. Hi everyone. Greetings from Dimboola in Victoria, Australia. 🙂
What a treat that ending was! OPAL FROM LIGHTNING RIIIIIIIDGE! 🤣 Great video, Justin, crazy transformation of a Gem. Thanks for sharing your talent with us :)
I love that you are not afraid to have fun in these videos! Saxon is going to have these incredible videos of you to look back on throughout his life with joy, humor and love! What a blessing!
Justin, you are the man! Not only a master gem cutter, but also a rapper, Dancer, and wannabe clown comedian! I love it! Take care, and we'll see you on the next. 😂
Wow wow wow. Absolutely amazing Justin. That was priceless. Oh wait you thought I meant the Opals. I was talking about the Rap. Lol. Those Opals are out of this world stunning. So happy for you. The fact that the rough produced a bigger stone then you originally thought was extra extra bonus. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. 😊
I need that as a ringtone! 😂❤ Beautiful work as always! Very grateful you are sharing your knowledge gained from your experiences to others. Even though I'm not cutting stones, one day I hope to have a hobby setup for it so I can enjoy the ups and downs of giving new form to raw stones. Watching you face challenges and disappointments alongside your victories shows such a beautiful aspect of the process and videos like this one with the life lessons are spectacular. You are the Bob Ross/Steve Irwin/Mister Rodgers of opal. ❤
Thank you for sharing things like this with us- no hype, no gimmicks, no script, just pure joy & contagious excitement. We love being part of it with you.
Your opals are exquisite, Justin! It’s my favorite gemstone. I purchased several beautiful Ethiopian opals and a few Mexican fire opals several years ago, and someday I would like to get some put into jewelry. I can never get enough of these beautiful stones.❤
This should be a series. Beauty or Bust? Beauty for sure! They turned out amazing!!! I love your videos. You have taught me sooo much!! LOVE the rap!!! lol Speaking of teaching can you talk about Doublet opals. A friend of mine got scammed by some selling a "doublet" it was actually holographic paper and resin... I sent her to your channel to learn more about opals.
What an amazing result! The color on both of them is just off the charts brilliant! Truly skilled to cut off the point and make another stone from it! What a awesome video Justin, you really have outdone yourself this time.
I don't really know how I came across your videos but I am truelly mesmorized. I'm sure it has nothing to do with me being a geologist. I really enjoy watching you create some of the most beautiful opal gems. I was wondering, have you seen any of your opals in their final jewelery setting? If so maybe share them in a video. Thanks Justin and crew of BOD for the great informative, interesting and creative videos.
Oh this on was tense! I soooo love these long videos where we get to watch you from start to finish. My favorite type of video. I would bet anything Saxon did watch this video!
Justin , Wow that Opal really amazed me ! Justin working his magic on another Opal ! Bringing out another amazing Opal ! Thank you Justin for another adventure and seeing the amazing Opal !
Incredible stone but the skills are even better! It has been a rough 2 months for me but the ending of this video... no spoilers but anyone who left after the first few minutes have no idea what they missed! First time in a while I have felt actual joy. My face hurts from smiling, glad a viewer got me to watch it and record the viewing (might become a video). Such good info and entertainment in one video. Inspiring.
@@blackopaldirect More than a smile, but like you said in the video just gotta push on when you are having a bad run. Who knows, maybe the opal gods will turn it all around.
Yeah, if life shows you stormy weather just dance and sing with the storm and trust in your skills for not blown away!!! And your song is really great!!!❤
Wow!! Just a fantastic job editing, filming, and rapping this one. Upper crust delivered , even for a YT pro!! So Thanks for the show Justin and Co., Greetings from Mike in Granby Colorado
I can really feel for you, the risk you feel and how carefully you have to grind. There is never a guarantee whether the stone has cracks or not. Well done! And I personally think your respect for Mother Earth is great!!! When I grind, I am always connected to the place of origin of the mineral. So I cut large printstones and was connected to the Aboriginals the whole time. In the middle of the grinding, I stripped naked and smeared the iron grinding residue on my skin and danced and connected with Australia.💚🙏💚
Stunning result Justin and full agree on the take the knocks attitude..was plagued by sand on almost everything I've touched this week but some have cut into the best gems I've cut 😎
Yay, Justin is "scruffy" today! Love it. And...the Rap! We need a copy of that drop for the listen later Justin on the download. I could see me "pimpin down the ave" jammin that tune...lol The stones were a total score and great content. Thanks Justin for sharing. Always a pleasure to watch.
Nice suspenseful opening. Got me pumped! Hoping for a dance AND a song!... It was more than I could've ever hoped. Stunning stones, and that song was EPIC. OPAL FROM LIIIIGHTNIIING RIIIIIDDGGGE!!!
Hi! I love to see you working and the beautiful stones! This time was a big surprise - the Opal rap! 😂😂😂 Fantastic!🎉 Loved it! 👋😃👍 Christina in Sweden.
Love the video and what a result! more than we could have all wished for! A slight detail that I love that might go overlooked by some is your skill and confidence of cutting one stone whilst the other is still cradled in your hand aha! No chance I would be able to do that without over thinking it lol! Thanks for sharing Justin
Never, never have I imagine opal cutting can be so exciting. Each stone is different and each cutting can yield different result.. Much more beautiful than diamond or any other solid color gem stone.
And this "drama" and music makes me more and more stopping to watch these taped and edited Videos... I like the craftsmanship very much, but this ist getting more and more in the background...
Thank u sir for taking something so cool from the earth and loving it enough to making it into something I’ll never be able to afford lol! Your skills are awesome!❤
The Opal Rap! 🤭🤭 Justin is such a happy person and so fun! I bet Saxon gets a kick out of his dad's antics. Justin, you have Cool Dad written all over you.
Hi Justin. Long time viewer and first time commenting. Can you please explain to us how the weight value of an opal is determined, noting that most opal gems are a thin layer of colour over potch. What is to stop people leaving a thick layer of potch and calling it a heavier stone? Is there a ratio or some sort or general rule? You are so privileged to be able to work with such beautiful stones so often and your production quality is of a similar standard. Thank you for sharing your experience. Much love, Kurt.
OMG! lol I was not expecting to be that entertained 😂 Justin you have some talent! I see you. Beautiful Gems!! If each one of those can get a rap song out of you, then you know you're doing something right. Well done sir. 🎬👏👏👏
You make me laugh Everytime you do this oddball stuff in your videos. Lol. It's like an art, meets diy, meets comedy, meets philosophy, meets motivational speaker show.... You are truly a unique person in the best possible ways. If I lived in Australia I would make a point to meet you!. But alas.. I. In the USA, and it's nearly impossible for me to get to Australia in this lifetime. Lol. So positive vibes and much respect to you and your family.
Wowsers!. What an absolute Ripper of a gem. All those beautiful colours and such a big gem too, it was great seeing you give birth to such a beauty. Loved watching gem number 5, I think it was the one I voted for in the competition. Thank you Justin, for sharing your skill and expertise, you are truly the master of opal cutting. Also a return to your musical talents was a joy, your a very talented person Justin, in case the cutting goes bad you could always go on to becoming a rapper, lol. Great fun, missed your crazy antics, it was a welcomed return. As always thanks to Black Opal Direct for yet another great video........ until next week.........
Very good Justin, opals and a good rap. I can't believe it. Thank you, mate. Chris smee And thanks to roysrocks and what he experiens looking at your piece of art.
