Been drag racing for a while. When I 1st saw the video with oil everywhere and a fire I knew that was a broken rod. Thinking the turbo blew with that much oil behind the car was wishful thinking 😂

I've always been curious: if this car burned down, with the full video evidence of modifications, would insurance cover anything? Would they be more likely to deny this claim outright? How does insuring cars with hundreds of thousands in modifications work? Honestly I'd love to see a video where you guys break down how insurance works for you, if you're not self-insured

Insurance would cover the car. Modifications do not affect our insurance. They know exactly what we do. As we have our fleet insured for commercial use.

@@XrayDean That's what I was thinking as well but I felt like there was a grey area between "commerical use" (which for DDE constitutes "driving badass cars at incredibly high speeds, sometimes around a track") and having a dedicated "track" policy. Supercar insurance has always been fascinating to me, it goes up another notch when the insurance is covering heavily modified cars worth high 6/low 7 figures

The vintage Italian sports bike I own, Laverda has a few incidents of leg out of bed. Blown cases and broken rods And the fix is Carrillo or other uprated rods and a provision crank rebuild. Expense but bulletproof. That engine bloke is impressive, not many like him around.
