PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING (edit 4/19/19):
This video is written to provide proof that atherosclerosis is reversible. I do not go into detail of what his patient did to reverse his atherosclerosis because this is an individualized approach for every patient that I encounter. No matter what you see on social media, reversing atherosclerosis is not as simple as any one thing (ie Vitamin K2). In order to reverse atherosclerosis, you have to heal your entire body: nutrition, de-stress, heal the gut, detoxify, remove heavy metals, etc.
Due to resounding feedback on this video, I created a follow-up video where I discuss more about how to reverse atherosclerosis and how this patient reversed his atherosclerosis:
• Hard versus soft plaqu...

One of my patients is reversing his plaque build-up with nutrition, lifestyle modification, and supplements.
He is tracking this progress on the CIMT (Carotid Intima Media Thickness) test which involves using an ultrasound to detect the microscopic wall of the carotid artery.

I year ago I went to the doctor and my blood test was as follow - Triglycerides was 157, Cholesterol 276, HDL- 50, LDL, 195 and RISK Ratio 3.89. The doctor did put me on Rosuvastatin Calcium 20 mg which I took for one month than went off of it. So I cut my Carbs to under 100 grams a day and I fast every day 18 hour a day (from 6:00 PM to noon the following day I do not eat) Six months later I have lost 14 pounds body weight and my blood work was as follow- Triglycerides was 94, Cholesterol 154, HDL-59, LDL- 76- and RISK Ratio- 1.29 Next month I will go back for another Blood work- Since the first blood test almost a year ago, I have lost a total of 24 pounds and been maintaining 100 gram of carbs a day and fasting 18 hour per day.

I think you're missing a few things: 1) The point of this video, as clearly stated in the title, is to prove that reversing plaque build up is POSSIBLE. I did not state how to reverse it. 2) I mention in the comments that this patient did it with nutrition, lifestyle modification, and supplements. 3) I mention several times in the video that he made these changes. 4) It is important to note that everyone's reversal process is unique, and it should be done with the guidance of a functional medicine doctor. Yes, there are some generic principles that I talk about in my other videos that can guide you to the right path. Overall, I think your comment is harsh and incorrect. This video is not pointless. And, I mentioned several "single words" about how he reversed his plaque build-up. Thanks for watching!

I smoked for 40 years and not only cigarettes, I ate badly and did not exercise, I was diagnosed with terminal brain tumors and given only 3 months to live, I decided that I needed to change my lifestyle because it was really a deathstyle. My "numbers" are beyond perfect, I became a vegan, when it comes to health the herbivore nutta's are completely correct. I eat flax seed to provide all the omega 3's I need because your liver can make it into long chain omega 3, I take a B12 supplement and you don't get enough of that even when you eat meat anyway, I drink a borax solution to sensities my body to insulin and equalities my hormone levels (more testosterone and less of the testosterone steroid as I'm getting older). My tumours fell apart is the best way to describe it due to 2 different biological reason that fully qualified western doctors know about 1. Absolute methionine dependence - cells make homocysteine as a byproduct of energy making and combine homocysteine with B12 or other methyl compounds to make methionine as a cell building block enzyme - if you don't eat methionine rich foods (animal products) then tumors fall apart because tumour cells can't make methionine. 2. Anti-angiogenesis diet - tumors need blood vessels to supply them food, a animal product free diet stops the formation of the blood vessels that feed a tumour. I was diagnosed 8 years ago and all the tumors are gone and I can prove it with scans and proper medical reports. Want the real science and science proof go here and learn nutritionfacts.org/

The vegan diet is truly powerful when you can stick to it and do it correctly. I find that too many vegans are "carb-atarians" - eating rice and bread, which is inflammatory.
@michaelbradley7704
@michaelbradley7704 5 лет назад
@@OubreMedical I absolutely agree with you, Carbs are mostly processed food which "nobody" should be eating, it's why I take borax daily as it is a strong anti-inflammatory, "Trendy" vegans forget that we should be as much as possible "wholefood". I am the healthiest couch potato in the world as I have no health issues and I'm not really an exerciser so the only thing that my good health can be blamed on is my fresh food vegan diet. As he reveals in the linked video (click "Read more" above), Dr. Oubre's patient basically followed a Mark Hyman diet, which I understand to be grass fed meat, pastured chicken and fish, all in moderation, along with plenty o' vegetables, and low carbs. No dairy. But as the Dr. Oubre says above, your diet should reflect your unique characteristics. Maybe because I'm APOE3/4, but I find pure saturated fats like dairy and coconut/MCT oil don't work for me. But naturally raise meats (except maybe bacon) don't have so much saturated fats. Although my CIMT showed my carotid arteries to be a little younger than my chronological age, there was still some plaque in there. I'm going for a CT scan in the fall, and am trying the Hyman diet and exercise route, along with a VIt K supplement.

Cardiac CT scans of the coronary arteries and Lp-PLA2 blood tests both show rapid development of arterial inflammation and increasing calcium deposits. I strongly suspect that most of the inflammation is coming specifically from the small dense LDL particles. It's unclear to me exactly what I should do about it.

Please give me some amounts you think I should take. Aorta is also enlarged. Yes I’m 82 and understand it gets larger but I take lots of vitamins but would like some improvement. I took lots of calcium per doctor because I went on Prolia for Osteoporosis. Big mistake.calcium did not go into bones but into arteries. I went off this. Please advise.

I recently read a new study that said that statins restricted the absorption of K2, thus causing atherosclerosis by allowing calcium into the arteries. I also heard on one of Dr. Ford Brewer's videos, that once you have plaque, you should try to keep it stable/hard, thus MK7 might destabilize the plaque, turning it into unstable/soft or liquefied state, this causing a clot. I've been afraid to continue taking my MK7D3 combo after that news. Now I am totally confused and getting worse. I'm still on pravastatin, CoQ10, and low-dose aspirin, I would rather be on Crestor, aspirin, CoQ10, and MK7D3. Any thoughts?

Carefully targeting my lower back muscles such that I don’t compress the lower spine by equating using a pull down weight has allowed me to walk again enough to improve cardiovascular capacity. I’m not going to take statins. I am going to measure and incrementally increase my aerobic exercise.

Maybe he could use it if he hasn’t used yet. Strong hugs and keep the good work

""""" Carbohydrates and insulin """"" The most important part is to cut back on Carbohydrates , wheat , potatoes sugars and starches (carbs).These are the foods that stimulate secretion of insulin the most . If you didn't know already, insulin is the main fat storage hormone in the body. When insulin goes down, "fat" has an easier time getting out of the fat stores in your body and the body starts burning fats instead of carbs. Another benefit of lowering insulin is that your kidneys shed excess sodium (salt) and water out of your body, which reduces bloat and unnecessary water weight ( adema ) and its healthy for your kidneys . If you have "sleep apnea" or you go to bed later than 11:00pm its almost impossible to lose weight . Also stress and being angy stressed out it will elevates your "insulin" for 12 hours and you will gain weight 100%." Sleeping" and stress is very important for weight weight loss and a low carb diet . Sleep controls "all your hormones" like HGH ..no sleep you never lose weight . a Good diets for people when they are insulin resistant is the Paleo diet , adkins diet ,ketogenic diet or eat high protein and low carb diet . Alcohol is the worst for the liver and to lose weight . .The "liver health" and Sleeping is the most very import to lose weight .Best supplements for the liver health is choline ,TMG , and Alph-lipoic acid , eating Red Beets and taking 3 to 9 grams of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in divided doses every day helps lose weight . Also its very important to keep your "homocystenes" levels down below 6 . Best to lower your "homocysteins" is to take vitamin B-6 100 mg a day ,B-12 and (( choline or "" TMG."" great for a sick fatty liver !and for people who drink achohol )). ...All sweetners "elevate insulin " so does "Stevia" ..yes Stevia . If You're serious about losing weight get off your sweet addiction ...no sweets , no "Stevia" ,no honey ,no artificial sweetners ..give it up sugar sweet addiction . To keep insuline down and healthy healthy heart take 400 mg of magnesium two times a day morning and night ,Magnesium is very important for good health also to keep "homocysteins" down so you dont get heart disease and cancer . ---In the 1940s, the agricultural chemists found that they could fatten their animals faster if they poisoned their metabolic systems with an anti-thyroid drug. The found the animals would get fat on very little food. Yet, the drug turned out to leave a carcinogenic residue in the meat. Farmers soon found out that corn and soybeans containing polyunsaturated fats (PUFA) would do the same as the anti-thyroid drugs and suppress the respiration of the animals and make them get fat on very little food. In the process they found that they were getting these yellow-fat diseases and brain degenerations (degeneration of the gonads, infertility, and so on). Around the same time the medical people noticed that the cholesterol was lowered in the process of eating a lot of these polyunsaturated fats. And that led to the spreading of the marketing of unsaturated fats to the human food supply, rather than just for the fattening of farm animals. And since people didn't want to gain weight on the least amount of food, they needed a new reason for selling their fats to humans. And, lowering cholesterol became the excuse in humans. But the agriculturists knew all through the 1940s that corn oils and soy oils were very fattening, and eventually, very toxic. But since they sold their animals as soon as they reached a marketable size, they didn't care (if they died later; they were killing them before they had the chance to die of the degenerative diseases)." -RP Bottom line: Although,the polyunsaturated fats will lower cholesterol (by suppressing the immune system), one of their main functions is to fatten animals, including you if you consume them, on lower calories. This is why farmers use high polyunsaturated fats foods like corn and soy to fatten their animals. What foods are high in polyunsaturated oils ? Vegetables, seed and nut oils. Nuts, seeds, soy, corn, fatty fish like salmon, omega 3 and 6 oils, fish oil, and animals that are fed a high polyunsaturated diet . ............................www.amazon.ca/Obesity.../dp/1771641258/ref=sr_1_1...

The medical industrial complex's failure to properly research and diagnose and treat diet and microbiome and sleep and vital nutritional deficiency issues (including those related to Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 and Magnesium deficiencies as well as iatrogenic prescription medication usage) is a major reason why psychiatric iatrogenesis is a primary contributor to the third leading cause of death in the U.S. (which is iatrogenesis in general). If the U.S. spent just a fraction of the over $40 billion each year it spends just on iatrogenic psychiatric drugs alone, for properly researching the issues discussed in this and related RU-vid presentations we would probably, Lord willing, achieve an absolute revolution in medical efficacy improvement and iatrogenesis reduction. I've been a health and wellness consultant for nearly 30 years and have specialized in disease prevention for the last 13 years. Since he failed to point out precise things a person can do to reverse atherosclerosis I will address what a person can do to not only reverse atherosclerosis, but decrease inflammation, increase HDL, lower triglycerides, lower total cholesterol and LDL, improve other cholesterol markers such as apoB, cholesterol pattern and LDL/HDL particle size. This regimen will also lower high BP and improve insulin resistance and reverse type 2 diabetes. 1. Take 400-600IU of a mixed tocotrienol/tocopherol per day with any fatty meal. Preferably good fats high in omega 3 - salmon, coconut oil, avacado, olive oil, etc.. 2. Take 5000IU of vitamin D3 combined with 180mcg of vitamin K2 MK-7 per day with any meal. 3. Take 400-600mg magnesium glycinate per day with last meal of the day. 4. Take one tablespoon of whole raw organic flaxseed per day with lunch. (grind in coffee grinder prior to consumption). 5. Take one tablespoon of raw organic cacao powder per day with lunch. 6. Take one tablespoon of organic pomegranate extract per day with breakfast. 7. Take one tablespoon of organic beetroot extract per day with breakfast. 8. Take one teaspoon of black seed oil per day with lunch. 9. Take one gel cap of a supplement called CuraMed per day with breakfast. 10. Take 2g daily of omega 3s with breakfast or other fatty meal. 11. Take 1 teaspoon of organic Amla with breakfast to supply vitamin C in a pure form. 12. OPTIONAL - If your on medication for high blood pressure or you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, then add in 3g daily of L-Citrulline with your first meal of the day. 13. Eliminate all processed sugars and refined carbohydrates and anything that contains high fructose corn syrup. Basically any carbohydrate food or drink that is WHITE in color should not be eaten! Totally eliminate any sugar substitute! Eat moderate protein foods and plenty of greens and colored vegetables. Add in fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, kimchi as gut health is very important when it comes to improving your overall health and fermented vegetables will increase good flora in your entire gut! Much more so than ANY probiotic will! Eat minimal fruits like green apples, black berries, blue berries, raspberries, and strawberries. Increase your intake of good fats mostly from omega 3 rich sources. Try your best to not eat ANY foods that are fried or high in omega 6. Dairy of any kind can be highly inflammatory unless it comes from raw organic sources! 14. 20 minutes of brisk walking should be done 6 days per week if possible. Will vary depending on current health and physical condition. (I can design custom programs based on your unique profile if interested). 15. HIIT type training should be done 3 times per week. Will vary depending on current health and physical condition. (I can design custom programs based on your unique profile if interested) Yes, it may seem like a lot, but I have this regimen down to a science and it is proven to work. Not in 5 years, but within 180 days! I've had clients drop their BP from 190/120 to 130/80 within 3 months and to 115/75 within 6 months. The above regimen will totally reverse ANY endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerotic plaque/calcium buildup in the arteries. Individual results will vary depending on severity, but regression of plaque and decreased inflammation will begin in as little as 30 days! I could list how it all works, but it would take too much time. If anyone is interested please visit my site for more details. I am not selling anything - this is all FREE info so I have nothing to gain by telling stories and wasting my time typing this. I feel if I can help just one person, then typing this was worth it. Also, consult with your physician before starting any of the supplements outlined because some may interfere with certain medications. For example, magnesium shouldn't be taken while on antibiotics. One more thing. The above regimen will drop your blood pressure like a lead ball, so if you are taking medicine for high BP, you will need to monitor your BP twice per day and notify your physician once the BP drops below baseline. Your physician will then need to decrease your medicine dosage and as time goes by he or she will need to wean you off the medication completely. Same goes for type 2 diabetes. You will need to monitor your blood sugars daily and decrease medications as your sugars begin to normalize. If anyone needs help with this regimen feel free to contact me directly at info@tbfinc.com or www.tbfinc.com Johnnie D. Jackow Sr. - Total Body Fitness Author/Health and Wellness Consultant

I momentarily stopped the video to say......Doctors dont even know or understand everything about the body. That was one of the first things they taught us in Medical school. I hope people do know that...and remember it. Also do some research on how some of our food is processed.....in order for the greedy to make more money. Some of it will shock you! Alot of good research was done back in the 1940's,be sure and read those!! Too much health news today is for money and not true and not healthy!!! The USA has been on the greed path for so long we should be called Ameri-greed!!

I bet he supplemented with K2 and D3 and went on a healthy lower carb/sugar diet.

He didn't supplement with K2. The whole K2 reversing atherosclerosis is a social media phenomenon. It is not as proven as people believe it is.

@@OubreMedical Did you ever find out what he had done to reverse it? Anyway, I don't need to supplement K2 I get plenty of that eating grass-fed butter, beef, eggs, and organic chicken. But I would love any advice you have from your research on what your patient (s) have been doing to reverse the condition since you have proof it can be done.

@@Ironclad6661 In our practice, this is highly individualized because we can do testing to find out what people's individual needs are. The basics are to restore optimal gut health then remove toxins. The process can take months to years, depending on level of severity and exposure.

Dr. Oubre- what was patient’s CACS score? And was it repeated after years of his holistic diet? Why don’t you mention what changes patient made to improve his health?
@OubreMedical
@OubreMedical 5 лет назад
I don't think that he ever did a CACS test. This video was focused on the CIMT. I made a follow up video where I discuss his changes. This video was geared towards proving to people that it was possible. I believe that true atherosclerosis reversal requires individual treatments and can't be boiled down to any single diet or supplement though there are some general principles.

I don't know where to get a CIMT test and my current doctor won't prescribe one. She won't prescribe a calcium scoring test either. So I can't get either one. I did previously did get a carotid artery screening test thru Lifeline Screening. I was told it found "mild" plaque buildup in both carotid arteries. A screening test for peripheral artery disease found no problems whatsoever.
@OubreMedical

Lifeline screening does the same test, but they don't give you an "age." The mild plaque build-up is not good, and you can watch it get reversed if you're on the right track.

Dr. Phillip did your patient become vegan or Whole Foods plant based diet?
@kellyclover5953
@kellyclover5953 5 лет назад
Conventional medicine clings stubbornly to false theories as to how atherosclerosis occurs. I am 66 with only a mild fatty deposit buildup in the carotid arteries according to LIFELINE SCREENINGS. I have elevated triglycerides and LDL cholesterol and I have refused statin drugs recommended by my physician.
