The creator replied to a comment 10 months ago saying it’s held up well. He still uses the same umbrella. He did mention he’d had to replace the leather strap.
Thanks for taking the time to do this review. I'm in Seattle shopping for an umbrella, and tired of crappy ones I have to throw away every year because they rust, break, or don't repel water very well. I think I'll give this one a shot!
High quality things can last 5 times longer than the crappy ones. And deliver much better quality while you have them. Of course, if you are prone to losing your umbrellas, you may be better off with a cheaper one.
@@juanr7209 exactly. Some things even get handed down to the next generation. And some break 3 days after you buy them. Considering only the purchase price is foolish. Which is also why classic designs hold their value more than the latest fads.
My Davek was total crap! It got bent in moderate winds and when I tried to reshape one of the ribs very carefully it snapped like twig. I'll stay away from their expensive garbage!
@@mascotgamerdk Like night and day in terms of the durability, which is why you get one of these to begin with. It's obvious to me they are unable to build the auto-opening ones like the manuals. I got the manual over the automatic.
Hi there! I’m still using the same umbrella. I’ve just used it yesterday. I had to replace the leather hand strap though, that didn’t survive Singapore’s weather.
Hi there. It doesn't always rain here in Singapore and I wanted to get the video out. But I have been using the umbrella till now and it is still in very good condition. I even joked around with my friends and calling it a "raining experience" because of its price premium. After more than 1 year, I just think it's a good umbrella and worthy of the investment. (I bought the umbrella with my money and not affiliated with Davek.)
Area73 - Thanks for your response. I deleted my post because I found it after running all over NYC (literally) looking frantically for it. It was last tracked at my workplace, which I assumed was my office. But it was down the hall from my office. Ugh. Anyway, I'll be extra careful now, and have reached out to Davek about the sensitivity of the loss alerts. For example, as I am writing this, I got a "out of range" alert and it's right by me.
i cant understand a word this guy is saying.. hes talking gibberish..bla bla bla bla ...his voice is annoying...all i hear is $150 over and over again.,...i dont think so..ill continue to use my yard sale umbrella..
