I just got this same exact color combination but in the 4 cylinder dual clutch version. Not the quickest but according to my research , the dual clutch transmission is way more reliable than the transmission that comes in the v6. I’m so happy with it and for the price they go for now , you cannot go wrong.

The 2.4 TLX was definitely the one to go for since the DCT was just so phenomenal and it was built in house by Honda/Acura. Amazing transmission that they could have put in the V6 models. The ZF 9-speed isn't bad, but the main problem is how jerky it shifted, it's not very responsive, and it used a dog clutch, which definitely did not help.

I always viewed this era Acura TLX as a competitor to the Infiniti Q50, both all wheel drive, classic smooth Japanese V6 engines, well put together, both good looking, both had two screens in their center stack interiors. Great review. I like both, it is good to take a look back.

The Infiniti Q50 2014-2015 is definintely better than this TLX. These TLX have engine rod spinning issues but the VQ 3.7 on that Infiniti is bulletproof. Also has more HP than the Acura. And the transmission on this gen TLX is also garbage. Q50 better all the way
@coolamazon123
@coolamazon123 9 месяцев назад
@@saltmaker5353 your TLX is not faster than a Q50. A quick google check confirms the Q50 is faster than the TLX, do your research. A transmission issue is way cheaper to fix than having to buy a whole ass engine for half the price of the car.

Even a BMW 340i? The F30 chassis blows this car out of the water by a long shot with luxury and performance and actually had great gas mileage considering it’s a bigger engine with much more power and you can get the 340i AWD for under $30k in todays market

TLX let's freaking goooooo! I have to say I've never seen that shade of brown inside of a Honda product but it's pretty nice! I consider 2001-2003 to be the golden era of Acura with the TL and CL Type-S products (and Comptech for aftermarket).

I have a 2016 TLX Tech (4 cylinder). About 45k miles. Have not had one problem with it. I do regular oil changes and have changed the transmission fluid once. Still using the original brakes. However I have gone through lots of batteries but that may be due to my location in Arizona. As you mentioned in the video, the only downside is the very slow and outdated navigation. I have paid to update the maps once. I just use my phone nav now when I need to. It is still very quiet and has plenty of power to drive around the urban jungle. Thanks for reviewing an older Acura!

Cross shopped this car with the Lexus GS350 and infiniti Q50 and ended up going with the Lexus for reliability, build quality and interior space. Both the Q50 and TLX were just too small for me, otherwise the Acura was my 2nd favorite.

I love this TLX honestly ~ The interior is definitely old, but it's simple to use and you get a lot of standard equipment in typical Acura fashion. The dual screens are different but I actually think they are useful. And that glorious Honda 3.5L V6 is amazing. The VTEC is amazing and the sound is very nice. I just wish the dual clutch that the 4 cylinder model had was in the V6 model, but you know the ZF 9-speed is definitely going to get the job done for most.

I want a AWD Vehicle, but im not a SUV/Truck Person. I've been looking at a Pre-owned Acura TLX and Infiniti Q50. No car is perfect. But i have seen quite a few reviews people having issues with the TLX Transmission or Ignition Problems. The Q50, turbos going out, feeling disconnected from the Steering Wheel. The Volvo S60 the Screen freezing up. Not as reliable as it once was. The Lexus IS although sharp just sits to low. Hate Subaru's (sorry) im starting to run out of Options 😄

I have 2015 V6 AWD Elite of this. Except for questionable sales advise at start with warranty on demo car and a burned transmission, the car ages well. When a transmission blows up, you can forget the price of repair / value of car ratio that many use to advocate scrapping and starting over with new payments on new car... Repair it and keep it as long as you can. Compared to buying a new car, exploding 1 engine and 2 transmission every 2 years would still be cost-effective!

I have a 2018 TLX Aspec. The ELS was one of the best in class at the time and still better than most cars today. I have had no issues with mine. I am surprise that he didn’t mention the SH-AWD, it is definitely on par with Audi’s Quattro or better… That alone is why I choose the TLX. Drive both and choose. I own this car and I think calling it a Luxury Sport Sedan is false advertisement. I'd call it a Luxury sedan. Don't get me wrong it's sporty and has some good power but not to the point where I would call it a Sport Sedan. I've also test drove the A-Spec face lift version of this car that I would call it a Luxury Sport Sedan because of the sharper steering, stiffer suspension and chassis, and sportier look
