I think Honda did a great job coming from a previous Evo X owner. The car performs very well and I think looks pretty damn good. Some angles it can look overly aggressive but purposely done and I think suites the Type R badge. Well done Honda.

Didn't care for the car at first, but then saw this in person in this color. Looks so good !

I am deeply impressed and respect the level of performance that Honda continues to make in their vehicles. The performance numbers are truly amazing. I look forward to seeing how these do in the near future after some modification in time attacks around the world when compared to other iconic vehicles with great interest. That being said, I have literally taken, (and flushed), the hairiest of dumps that look better than this car. Please go back to the right track that you were on when designing the S2K, ITR, NSX, and older civics. Please stop relying on a load of preschoolers to design the exterior of this car. Please for the love of god, someone make a tasteful body kit to slap on this thing. I know they wanted a car that could race around the track and pickup groceries on the way home, but if they were so focused on the performance aspects of this car, that they obviously were, then why make it look like the F&TF's turd wannabe? This is more relate-able to something along the lines of a tall, awd sedan than a sporty Civic typeR. However, this is my opinion, which will be down voted into oblivion by the name-defenders and other triggered individuals. Please Japan, go back to designing the iconic beauties of the 90's with today's tech.

Thanks for the review, you did a fine job, far better than many others who have reviewed the Type R. Also, it's nice to see someone able to drive it like Honda intended. I'm waiting for the track comparison tests to see which one of the hot hatches stands out.

Haters, did you know that "riced wing" and those "ugly after thought rear fenders" are what made this car do so well on the nurburgring? Every detail on the exterior of this car serves a purpose. if you think it looks bad, that's ok. Styling is subjective. Go buy your POS Golf or the RS. We don't care!

Im not gonna get it, but I love how so many butthurt people refuse to accept the fact that this fwd monster is stomping rwd and awd cars at the track. Also honda fucked up with adding a electronic parking brake. NO NO NO NO NO!

I didn't care much for the Civic Type R in the beginning, but the more I read and look at its details I feel like it is growing on me. Well done Honda; you managed to keep the Civic Type R a FWD but make it handle like nothing else on sale. Just like 1996 when a Civic Type R can kill cars costing twice as much & with significantly more power (and driven wheels). I take one in Championship White however; ;)

I don't think black is great color I think white is better it insinuates more of the Curves in angles that this car has and the red outlining stands out a lot more

So... how about those fake air vents in front and back with non functional parking sensors...

You video are good, I like them a lot, you don't mute all the road noise, sounds and you can hear the engine good, a lot of the other channels do to much production shit and their channels sound like they are driving in a simulator. If you reviewing a car let us hear it, this is not no Sunday drive listen to opera, they should get on it like you do. Your Type R video is one of three best I have seen so fare and I have watched like over 20 so fare, but number on of the three, is the world record breaking Nurburgring Civic Type R.

to clear things up..a d16 with a cold air intake is a ricer...a b-series motor with a cold air intake is NOT a ricer..those B series motors had balls... I rememeber back in highschool I bought a honda with a type r conversion..the car only made 200hp but still the thing pulled hard and took the constant abuse a teen driver would give..honestly the best car I ever owned..The nostalgia of redlining the old honda at muscle car meats still brings tears to my eye...

saw one in person today and it looks so much better in person then on video. I do wish it was all wheel drive like it's competitors but beggers can't be choosers. I love the car personally and will most likely get one in the near future

A lot of people say this car is ugly and honestly I am tempted to agree. But years from now, probably at least 10 years after Honda stops making this model, people are going to look back at this car and think it was pretty cool. Car styling just works like that sometimes. I used to think BMWs from the early 2000s looked completely ridiculous and weird but now I think they look really interesting, aside from the 7 series. The 5 series has really unique, sharp looks and the 3 series looks like something built for the Japanese domestic market (in a good way) that somehow made its way to the rest of the world. Though I wouldn't necessarily describe those BMWs as "over-designed" in the way this Civic is, I still think we'll only appreciate the design of this car in retrospect. As ridiculous as the Type R may seem now, the more pedestrian versions of this car will fade from memory while this will be the one that sits on showroom floors, one of the last generations of purely gas-powered vehicles before all the manufacturers started fitting hybrid and electric power plants into every new car on the road.

I have a feeling if you tune this car for 60-70 + wtq it will have nasty torque steer

definitely is over priced and not worth it at all. One dealership tried to charge me 60K just because some idiot paid the same somewhere else smh.

This car has definitely grown on me. Still prefer my sti, but i can respect its competition. Side note: you should probably annotate a caption saying you meant the brz was lighter not heavier lol.
