Buy a car like this and never have to go to amusement parks for thrill rides, you own your own each and every day. I once drove a Mustang Cobra with a supercharger, the owner told me he had dyno'd it and it was pushing 550HP at the wheels. When I shifted from 2nd to 3rd I was already going over 80... viral beasts these machine are. The sound is surreal...
Spot on. When I had my GT350, my wife would say, “hey- can you run for the store for milk”, and you’re like, “Hell yes, I can do that!” Everytime. Literally never gets old
@@Ford_Raptor_R_720hp_V8 because race car. meant to turn and go fast. NOT a drag car. Get a coyote with a GT for low end torque. Or, a tractor. Torque starts at 4,000 when needed on a track. Magical engine sounds howling on a road course.
10% throttle after a 30% with a second pause gives non stop pops. Mine did it all day. And my gas mileage was horrible all day too lol. It kills your cat by the way. But it was fun.
My favorite Mustang ever made, flat plane crank V8 revs to the moon 8,250rpm, just amazing. I keep looking for the price to come down so I can afford one or my channel to take off so I just have more money to buy one. I love this car, I will own one.
Got my '17 GT350 with 4 miles on it just over 4 years ago. Drive it weekly and will never get rid of it. Incredible that Ford isn't making them anymore. Shame.
Absolutely can’t get enough of my 17 350. That car is just so special. If you enjoy driving, this car will blow your mind. Once the engine comes on it cams(3500), hold on !! Superb machine.
I just bought a 2016 track pack LOVED the exhaust note, now I have a full kooks system on my car and it sounds INSANE you would absolutely lose your mind if you drove it
One of my favorite cars of all time, these are probably my favorite sounding V8's ever and I'm more of a Camaro kinda guy. Tbh I'd pick this over a ZL1 any day
I ordered a ZL1 1LE a year ago. Still waiting for it to be built - I’m suspicious it may never be built. Considering purchasing one of these instead. I have my eye on one with a full 5 year warranty. What do you think, fellow Camaro guy?
What cracks me up Matt is I live here in Sacramento and there’s a couple of the GT 350s and I can always tell when I’m out walking or working on my car when one takes off just by the distinct RPM tone also hellcats too and your regular 6.4 L scat packs!
I’m in heaven with this review Definitely a car to collect as we will be seeing them for 6 figures! Still loving my GT 500 in Kona Blue with PAINTED over the top in black. Good tip for your Bullitt and your daughter yes I’m the guy who had a 2019 Bullitt I sold. My son still has his Bullitt. Keep yours!
@@lujr2225 Right on! I ended up finding this road after looking at some landmarks/buildings and Googling it. I can take it as a detour from my commute home. Can't wait
One of my favorite cars I owned. Had the honor of daily my 2017 GT350 for a year and half and tracking it as well regularly. Making me miss mine a lot. One thing about the gearing though, I believe it is shorter than all normal Mustang GT. The reason why second gear takes you so high is because of the extra almost 2000 RPM.
@@MattMaranMotoring Yeah it’s a confusing topic. Each gear up to 5th, GT350 has slightly longer gear but because GT350 has much more aggressive final drive (3.73 vs 3.55 in the GT), driving at the same speed, GT vs. GT350, GT350 will be running at a higher rev (which translates to shorter gears). Totally agree with your point about the gearing on the road though because both cars have second gear topping off at mid to high 80mph which makes it hard to enjoy all the time. Though because of the final drive in the GT350, it seems like it revs up quicker than the GT.
@@MattMaranMotoring Btw love the channel and I have been following for years. I can see you trading in the Bullet for a GT350 Heritage though since you enjoy the car so much!
@@gtrance3567 The PP2 is pretty far behind. Engine, suspension and transmission are all not as good as the GT350. The Mach 1 is more comparable for sure, but still lacks the character that ultimately makes the GT350 as legendary as it is, for the same price and if I recall correctly still lacks all the suspension and track prowess as well.
Again, very special car AND sounds incredible. but not a great value. The pp2 is probably only second off at the track and much cheaper. The SS1LE actually tied a gt350 at willow springs and again, much cheaper. Yes, the mach1 is over priced. Lastly, there is the topic of oil consumption, spun bearings, piston rings and engine failure. Hopefully g2 has fixed those issues.
Great review! Carmax has a 2020 GT350 with 2k miles for $72k. 2019’s are high $0’s. Good prices for these cars with low miles? Higher prices than when new, but still good value in light of unique and raw power etc etc. I’m not ready to trade my low mileage Bullitt for one. It’s a great car but is it really worth $25k more than my Bullitt especially when I’m not tracking it. Carmax appraised my Bullitt at $44k; they’re selling this Bullitt for about $50k retail.
Honestly I don’t think it’s a good idea for anyone to buy a used car this year with the crazy prices on everything. I’d encourage anyone to stick with what they have for now unless they’re able to buy a brand new car.
the no.1 important thing to know about when searching a used gt350 is figure out whether the first owner has properly broke in the car. the voodoo engine needs the oil to heat up before one can put rev/load to it, especially during the break in period. If previous owner(s) didn't pay attention then it's much likely to consume oil and even blow up
People seem to like the Steeda spring, I nearly broke my wrist trying to get the stock one out of my EcoBoost years ago so I’m not messing with the one in the Bullitt lol.
The spring on the standard S550 is goofy. Modulating that at times can be tricky when you change modes or where different shoes. I know a fix is to change out that heavy spring with a light one. I never did that but heard that helps.
That Voodoo sounds great, but I think I'd still rather have the Mach1 with the Coyote because I'd rather daily drive my car first, and track it 2nd versus the other way around. That low-end torque and bullet proof motor is a pretty solid deal for that.
@@Gthere-cs3ow Yeah it's the best sounding modern Ford engine IMO hands down. But it def. had some reliability issues and torque issue. I'd rather drive the Coyote on the street, rather drive a Voodoo on the track or canyons.
@@MrSlowestD16 I don't really mind the torque just keep the revs high. Really hard to stall even with only 420lb ft and 1st gear goes pretty good. I wouldn't wanna race a supercharged car from a dig but it is what it is.
@@RCXDerp Yea, the keeping the revs high is where I get annoyed. That's fine if I'm canyon carving, but if I'm driving to get milk, I want that peak torque low in the revs. Then when you mix the reliability issues? It's a tough sell to somebody like me who places a high value on daily driving. But that Tremec transmission is tits. The MT-82 in the GT and Ecoboost is garbage.
I don't think it would be feasible to do that while still offering the gt for the affordable price that it is now. Plus I've heard these engines aren't the most durable relative to the 5.0. so making them the mainstream offering would be a warranty headache.
Carmax has best warranty for used cars. Plus 30 day use and total refund if problems! GT 350… should have good warranty for potential issues.(if possible!)
Pushing 26K hard miles on my 2016 and I’ve never even needed to top the oil off. I’ve run in to several other GT350 owners at shows here in CA (Bob’s, Ponies on the Pike, etc.) and nobody is having these problems. However, my AC recently went out. I have an extended warranty, so no big deal.
whos fckn watching little lacey if your not, your supposed to be the responsible one in this relationship, u do have custody of the brat... this is what im tlkn about, im going to chat with my uncle for a few, we need to get his car in the garage , thats top priority this weekend. love u
Not passing that engine around like they did the 5.4 is truly a disgrace. Super car engine in a raptor, actually make a super car instead of half of one. Really dropped the ball
Admittedly it’s been a few years since I drove the SS 1LE but the GT350 handling is still a good bit more athletic feeling than the SS 1LE from my memory.
It’s sad that the New GT500 with an automatic transmission only doesn’t compare with the GT350.Fords big mistake. They would have sold more GT500’s if it had a standard transmission.❤
Thanks for the vid Matt! I have a base stripper 18 gt manual that I got new under $30k and I always wonder about trading to a 350. Do you think the difference in price is worth the experience of a 350?
Indeed a 350 is more money but more of everything too, so it’s just how you feel after test driving it and how much money you want to spend. I had to decide which one to buy and it wasn’t easy but I didn’t want to spend $$$. I spent $50k not $70k. Got a GT (Bullitt) for a daily, because no interest in the track.
@@rembo183 i guess I wouldn’t want to trade my gt in and 2 months later realize as a weekend fun car that my gt was 95% of the 350 in terms of how I feel driving it around town
@@MattMaranMotoring functional front air inlets based off the s209 That’s about it. Rumors about the motor being the one in the type RA but I don’t know for sure.
Ford needs to do something like chevrolet did Ford tries regular mustang Bullitt mach1 gt350 gt500 ok theirs differences in performance but the interior is the same For me that's not good
Love it. How many miles are on that thing. Its so durty it looks like it came from a Rental Fleet. IMO the best recent mustang is the 2012 Boss 302. Simply Raw with better engine IMO
This car is unfortunately severely flawed. I purchased a brand new and loaded 2020 GT350 back in May of 2019. Came from a loaded 2015 GT PP. It was everything I wanted: Performance Blue, white stripes, Recaros, upgraded tech, audio, and the handling package. Within about 6 months/13,000 miles, the car was in the shop literally 50% of the time, for *20 STRAIGHT DEALER TRIPS*. The starter assembly failed three times; the ECU was replaced twice; the transmission started failing; the headliner was falling off; the USB ports kept killing my AUX cords (I’ve had several cars before and after this that have never burned out my connectors-turns out it’s a Ford issue with fuses), so CarPlay became finicky; and my HVAC failed three times thanks to the S550’s known evap core issues. It embodies what a toxic relationship feels like. One day you’re having the best time of your life and you’re high off of emotions; the next you’re absolutely loathing the thing and the headaches it brings on. I’m beyond sad that I had to sue Ford to buy it back. I’m signing the papers to complete this whole thing today and wishing I could keep it. To worsen the pain, I took advantage of the Ford Racing School GT350 Track Attack a couple of months ago (after the 1 year expiration; thankfully Ford honored the offer), and I almost wanted to die knowing that it was my last chance to drive the balls off of one of these, because my car was sitting back home, dead in the garage. Buying one of these is a complete gamble. Good luck to any future prospects. That Voodoo is a glass cannon that likes to rattle like nothing else.
The failure percentage is also abnormally high. I’m curious to know how many GT350 owners dailied the car like I did. I treated it just like any other Mustang and totaled 30,000 miles in the 15 drivable months that I had it. The issues really poured on with the miles. Most people keep this as a second car and the used listings you find only have around 5,000-15,000 miles on them. Do your research on the car’s history before you consider buying one.
I stopped watching this when u said the recaro seats are not better then these old man seats. My gt350R would get traded in if I didn’t have those seats. Crazy
Everyone likes something different. The Bullitt fits what I want better, is more likely to be reliable, and was way less expensive than the Shelby, along with about a dozen other reasons. Doesn’t mean the Shelby isn’t epic.
I currently own a mkv supra. I rented out an automatic mustang (v6) for a vacation trip and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I can only imagine how much better the gt350 is. Wouldnt mind trading in the mkv if i like the gt350.
I’m sorry, it has to be said. ITS SOUNDS LIKE A CROSS PLAIN CRANK MOTOR!!!!! It sounds good but not that good. Sounds nothing like a Ferrari or the new ZO6. Don’t believe me? Go listen back to back.
Glad Someone else mentions that! it IS a flatplane but it sounds pretty aweful to me ,like fingernails on a chalkboard..perhaps I'm being harsh here but Im not a fan of That noise..Headache inducing....the new zo6, ferraris and lambos sound radically differentant.. they also have the flatplane but their the firing order is different and thats what creates the sound difference between this and the new vette.....chevy studied and copied how the europeans did theirs so it wouldnt end up sounding like this..
@@skip741x3 Thank you!!! I was starting to think I was losing my mind because everyone says how good it sounds and I just don’t agree. To me it sounds like a twin cylinder motorcycle above 10k rpms. Just starts to sound like it’s going to blow up.
What is the correlation between a crappy 1 star movie that nobody went to see and a ugly S550 with lame chrome, no aero, a horrible color and a junk transmission?? Help me understand
Mainly, it's the fact that not everyone feels the same way about the movie and the car as you do, otherwise Ford would have never made 3 generations of Bullitts. If you'd like my rationale, I explained it in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ql8lEU_POtY.html
