Tank drum or Steel Tongue Drum create wonderful quiet sounds. Therefore, it is often used for Yoga classes or incorporating into songs that create tranquility. After kalimba, this is the second instrument that fascinated me because of the sound that creates the tranquility in my soul

I have a mini tongue drum but bought a 15 tone one, just to play my fav kalimba tunes on it..😅 can't wait till it comes in the mail, I like instruments like kalimba and tongue drum they're relaxing and peaceful, also fun to play. 🥰

Hi. Please may I know the latest Hluru 14 tone better or the 15 tone older version is better? If not mistaken one is C and another is D, honestly speaking I don't know whats the difference as I'm not from musical background. Both material slightly different. I'm in dilemma, I'm new to music instrument but I just want the best for long term. With beautiful sound I think it can keep my learning interest... Hope you can help with the choice thank you.

Hi, sorry for late reply. In my opinion I recommend you choose the HLURU steel tongue drum 15 tones with D tone. Because of the quality of sound it makes will please your feeling, I believe so

You already addressed this partially, but I am wondering if the hole in the bottom of the larger drum is big enough to reach in with your hand and place tiny magnets on each tongue, so that the tuning could be modified.

The hole is about 4 cm. But I never heard that placing magnets can change the tone, thank you for this information, I'll give it a try.

I recently bought the same 15 tones tank drum from the same seller as in your description under your video. Only I started learning playing from opposite side, I mean rotated in 180 degrees (little tongue 3' is at bottom, not on top as in your video) Does it matter? Maybe I should learn playing from another side as in your video? Thank you.

Does the rope decorations on 15notes have any effect to the sound?

It might muffle the sound a bit, since the vibrations of the drum could be absorbed by the ropes. Though i think the effect would be small.

I tried removing it and I found the sound quality hasn't changed. It is separated from the drum by a silicone belt so it does not affect the sound of the drum

@@AoiKumo9 is there a particular genre’ of music you prefer on one drum over the other? Specifically, the tone of the drum ie. D tone for (fill in the blank) but the C tone for (fill in the blank). I know what type of music I want to play and will def be getting a 15 note drum. It’s the tone I’m not sure of? Thanks for your opinion on this.

I have a 13 tone one what are the notes I've looked on google & youtube and found all kinds of videos and pictures but nothing with just what the notes are for it any help would be appreciated.

I have the same question. Also, the maker of my 13 note drum seems to have sent a “music book” that numbers differently in a few ways to the actual drum. It matters when one makers “2” isn’t the same thing as some other maker’s 2.... Not sure how you learn to play one of these when the drums are all different. Different number of tones, and the equivalents being in different places from one drum to the next...

Anh ơi cho em hỏi trống 15 Notes tông D trưởng của Hluru nốt số 1 là nốt C hay D vậy anh. Em có dùng app Tuner mà nốt 1 hay nốt 7 đều hiện là D hết. Anh có bảng các nốt trên trống thì cho em xin với được không ạ? Em cảm ơn anh nhiều lắm 🥺

Bạn ơi, trống có hai loại, tone D và tone C. Nếu trống của bạn tone D thì nốt số 1 sẽ là D nhé, trong trường hợp nốt 1 và 7 đều là D thì có thể nốt 7 bị lệch tone. Trong trường hợp đó bạn liên hệ với nơi mua trống để hỏi xem sao. Bạn để lại email mình sẽ gửi sơ đồ nốt cho bạn nhé. Cảm ơn bạn đã xem và theo dõi kênh!

From what I understand, the base note is 1. So the 15 note drum in this video is in the D major scale, so the base note is D. Then go up the D major scale, so 2 would be E, 3 would be F#, etc. The dot above the number represents a higher octave, and a dot under represents a lower octave. I don't understand much music but I got this info from another video, search "Aklot drum review 2". I hope this helps! Will be ordering mine soon!

Các bước để học chơi trống nè: B1: Mua trống B2: tìm tabs bài nhạc dưới dạng số. Chỉ cần phần giai điệu, không cần phần đệm. B3: Tập theo tabs hoặc video ^^ Hihi nhìn chung trống này không có gì khó chơi ạ bạn. Vì số lượng người chơi trống này vẫn chưa nhiều cho nên tài liệu cũng chẳng có bao nhiêu. Bạn có thể ứng dụng tabs số dành cho kalimba để chuyển sang cho trống cũng được nhé, tùy theo bài mà mình có thể cần hạ hay nâng tông. Và không phải bài nào mình chơi với trống thì cũng hay nên mình phải chọn lựa những giai điệu thích hợp để biến tấu với trống hen. Chúc bạn sẽ yêu thích và thành thạo nhạc cụ này nhé ;)

15 tone tank drum is about 3.5 kilogram. I don't think it's too heavy to bring out for performance or take video ;)

Hi, in my opinion I think a 15 keys steel tongue drum will has enough low and high sound suitable for you. Steel tongue drum is a perfect instrument for practice with Yoga. One more small point, make sure the drum you are going to buy is HLURU brand

Why would you buy a 15 instead of 13 note. Is it even possible/practical to play common music with a 13 note? If I wanted to play more tunes should I get a 15 note or is it possible to just have a 13 note

Hi, a 15-note drum will have more bass notes and you can mix and match to make your music richer, but a 13-note drum can also perfectly meet your needs.

As a beginner, I just bought the 13 note. Although the larger one has a mellower sound overall, it’s significantly more expensive. If I find that I really enjoy it, then I’ll invest in 15 note drum. Also the drums are tuned to different keys.

Pero cuidado, muchas veces no es la misma escala musical que la occidental. es decir que no podrás tocar ninguna canción que conoces, vas a hacer música japonesa, coreana, china. Yo lo probé. No está mal. Hay que acostumbrase a la nueva tonalidad. @@emaairala6559 No. Yo vivo en Suiza. Soy Español. Pero también te puedes fabricar uno con dos hojas. No tienen porqué ser redondos. La notas las modulas tú: Si quieres veinticuatro notas en total, las dibujas primero, las vas recortando o abriendo con una tijera para metales. Al final le das un acabado de pintura o le pones motivos.

I have a 13 note drum and I'd like to actually label the notes with letters instead of the darned number thing they have going on. The little book that came with mine only has 4 songs and they didn't use all of the drums available notes. I muddled through but I'm missing 4 notes. I think they are half notes. I'm a newbie and jumped in feet first. Halp. .🐱

Oh yes, some people will be more familiar with letters than with numbers. I am used to using tabs by number. Actually, I don't use songs from the music book they give haha. I often apply music tabs of all the kalimba songs I know or try out new ones. You can try to see the song with tabs available, I think you'll be able to master your drums soon ;)

@@AoiKumo9 I have this giant old book of beginners piano music. The notes are huge and the letter is on every note. Not all the songs in there will play on the drum. It's the last 4 half notes I'm trying to label and then I'll be "off like a herd of turtles" as they say.😅
