REVIEW: Can the new SsangYong Musso compete?

The Musso will pick up where it left off: a slightly left-of-centre Korean offering with sharp pricing and good inclusions. While it's a bit of a compromise off-road, the good levels of comfort and refinement go a long way. And the new seven-year warranty is an absolute cracker.
It's definitely worth jumping behind the wheel for a test drive, to see if that ride and interior tickles your fancy for the money.

I would test drive this seriously. Been let down by all the big brands too many times. Maybe time for a change...

What a great Ute! The South Korean brands have come a long way in the last decade I reckon they will completely dominate everything in the next.

Sick of all the issues with the overpriced Utes to be honest .. Ssangyong have got themselves a winner here but should of.given it a slightly better ground clearance and more appealing exterior design for 10/10 results

Not a good Test. It's not only price and garantie, it is a bit more road oriented! Very very quiet, direkt steering and car like handling. The most roomy cab with very high comfort. If you most drive onroad and on tracks this car is ideal. I will buy the longer version in some weeks when it is available in Germany. Price like the Mitsubishi but in nearly every point a bit better.

the best compare to other ute is the back seat is much batter than other ute and has aircon with that price. I have ridden that car in Korea and it's good. I was consider to buy new triton or np300 cuz I really need rear air vent but my consideration may have changed now. hopely can get long wheelbase soon here in australia

Have you bought one yet? If not, go for the face lift one(also known as Rexton KHAN in some countries) that has been rumoured to be rolled out on June in Australia I’m gonna buy one once they are available here and will be laughing at all those stupid unreliable overpriced utes on the road
@theonewhowatchesthewatchme2275
I REALLY hope we are getting this in South Africa. For me this would be perfect, do not need so much off road capability and love a smaller engine since fuel is so darned expensive, But I really love a bakkie or ute, been looking at other cars but always go back t a bakkie. And the toys look very good too. And yes styling is much better although the previous gen was passable but the one before that was pretty awe-full.

$40K...…. that's too much for a off brand that will depreciate faster than any of the big brands. Also what about safety?
@markgriffiths3804
@markgriffiths3804 5 лет назад
$40k is the top spec model price. They actually start at $30,490. Compare the top spec model as tested feature for feature and you'll be paying north of $50k for a big brand equivalent

@@toniogarcia5434 I already own a two Ssangyongs. I have a 2015 Actyon Sports ute with 95,000 km on it and it's been brilliant, never missed a beat plus a 2014 Rexton with 100,000 km on it that has only required a window regulator. So, yeah I'm up for a Musso when I trade up.

@bryanphillips7252

Does anybody know if fitting a lift kit will void the factory warranty? It doesn't look like there is a lot of room under the arches to fit taller profile tyres to get a bit more clearance that way... I rode in a dualcab Hilux and a dualcab Colorado yesterday and had the same thought about both of them - I wish somebody would make a dualcab with full size doors on the back to make getting in and out a bit easier; if this uses the same doors as the wagon Ssangyong may have addressed that problem.

Read those LOOONNGG warranties properly...A load of Not included or limited periods in there..Basically the only things covered are the motor, axles and maybe the gearbox..ALL else has limited period clauses..and all linked to service at the stealership...
