Review: CEBU PACIFIC's NEW 321NEO - ASIA's OLDEST BUDGET AIRLINE!

When it comes to the economy seats, Emirates Airlines and Cebu Pacific feel the same to me. I had the economy Sydney-Manila return with Cebu Pacific and Emirates Airline Economy Sydney-Dubai. Coming back to Sydney from Dubai I took the business class because I don't like the 14 hours economy seat experience. Your videos influenced me to take Business Class. Amazing.

When he asks whether you sleep better in Economy or business but you've only even flown economy :(

Hi Josh! Their cutlery is NOT really made out of plastic. They are made out of CORNSTARCH which makes them biodegradable ergo, eco-friendly! :) They are trying their best to be eco-responsible airline as possible. The 321 NEO aircraft ensures that fuel burn efficiency and less environmental impact because Cebpac is committed to keeping its fleet modern and young. The NEOs consume at least 15% less fuel than their CEO counterparts. Hence, flying with Cebpac is eco-friendlier than most other airlines. ;)

When your friends ask you what airline are you flying, you’re too embarrassed to say Cebu pacific, so you say Asia oldest budget airline

I usually take Cebu Pacific for domestic flights in the Philippines. I've found their customer service to be superior to air asia. When I was going from Caticlan airport to Manila I was there early. We found out that a Jetstar aircraft had a landing gear collapse at manila delaying several planes. My brother in law had booked air asia for the same route. We found put both our plane and theirs was delayed on the ground at Manila. The delay kept mounting to the point where Cebu Pacific offered to let me board an earlier flight to Manila and accomidated my wife and son as well. My brother in law on the other hand was still stranded at the airport waiting for his Air Asia flight that was in fact supposed to be departing before our flight. When we landed in Manila on our Cebu Pacific A320 we found out my brother in law and his family were still at the airport in Caticlan. Because of Cebu Pacific's kindness I will always fly them. That being said in Bohol I took them and I was charged a baggage fee that I was not charged in Manila. They need to be consistent with their policies. Every time I fly them their aircraft are clean and the service is friendly however. So despite that one hangup I had in Bohol I've had a great overall experience.

Cebu Pacific's A330 has 436 seats, and it usually flies to Davao, Cebu (Domestic), Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, Dubai, Melbourne, etc.

It's great to not have a recline button on budget carriers. I completely support this idea.

Spirit, Frontier, and Allegiant in the US all have seats that don't recline and have incredibly small tray tables

Lion air also has economy-only A330 seating. Got the full 440 there as well.

Never been on any aircraft with "no recline"Josh !! I start leaning back when sleeping and end up with my head on my chest...never though on a table. Business Class sleeping for me is better when the bed is only reclined even though it may go flat...and a lot depends on the leg room when the bed is reclined !! It never seems to amaze me how many ships are sitting off Singapore...every time I fly there ( over 45 years I might add) it is always the same...ships ahoy !! Pretty good flight for the price. I like you do not mind extra security any where at the moment. Thanks again mate and stay well in these troubled times !!

My Manila to Singapore flight via Cebu Pacific was disastrous... worse it was my first flight ever and I got delayed for 9 hours 😭 my Bangkok-Manila experience via the same airline was way better though. What I like about Cebu Pacific is flights are so cheap. You can fly to Sydney or Dubai one way for as low 60-70 usd. Plus they have games inflight. P.S that green tea you ordered, that’s owned by the airline’s parent company. Their parent company is one huge conglomerate.

I think Spirit Airlines here in the US also has no recline.

Just a bit of an info. the A321neo's of Cebu Pacific are designed to be pre reclined for 15degrees. Other than that configuration, all aircrafts have reclinable seats. Hope this helps.

Hey Josh, at jet2 we have no recline on our seats. Also we operate (on lease) A330-200s in one class at 327 seats. Love your reports! Stay safe!

It's already in a 15 degree recline. It's a compromise between the full vertical and full recline of the traditional seats. It's one of the reasons for the slim seats :)

I sleep longer in economy since I do less and sleep more. In business I’m up longer due to the long list of movies, abundance of snacks and also... alcoholic drinks :D

Easyjet, Ryanair and BA short haul economy seats don't recline. And a good thing to if you're 6 foot tall and don't want to have your knees crushed by the person in front!

I’ve been on 4 easyJet flights on a319s and a320s, from what I’ve seen there’s no recline on the seats

You forgot to mention in your plane sleeping options who are "neck pillow" sleepers. That's me. I bring an inflatable neck pillow with me everytime I travel and its a must-do. That way for planes with a no-recline seat, this neck pillow is a life saver for me. (I've heard of newer planes with slim, non-recline seats but never rode in them yet.)

The older Cebu Pacific seats do recline. The newer seats don't recline to save on maintenance.

Josh, love your reports man. I hope to meet with you one day in London...you seem such a nice man to have one or two beers with! I'm fairly sure Easyjet, a popular European budget airline, also don't offer recline. I say that as I experienced a 2 hour flight with them from LON to Barcelona...was the worst I experienced! Also NEOs and MAX bathroom all seem to be smaller!

I think I survived an 8 hr flight in those wide body from mnl to dubai. I do sleep my head tilted to the side with a neck pillow and thats why I love a window seat. Only been once to business class and cant sleep on the lie flat for some reason. Thanks for doing this report, Josh!

If You’re in a budget and flying in the Philippines, I recommend PAL or Air Asia Philippines

Garuda Indonesia also have A330-300s in all economy configuration. Also Airasia X also have the same all economy in addition to some with a small premium cabin.

Thai lion Air also has economy class only Airbus A330-900 neo.

Correction - Ryanair seats don't recline on any of there aircraft. This has been the case for many many many years.

If you want to see an airline that doesn’t offer reclining seats, try TAPs European economy seats (not the “comfort” seats). And I certainly don’t sleep (better or at all) in Economy Class - the only times I’ve slept on a plane was when I was upgraded to Business Class.

the etihad economy class has a thing for you to lean on

this may be late, but most filipinos who fly with ceb just buy from terminal 2's shops before boarding, they dont really mind if you bring your own food inside the plane.

Best sleep on a flight? This year on a Biman 777-300 red-eye from Jeddah to Dhaka. The funniest thing about the flight was this. I was flying business class on seats which went 170 degrees flat (like the ones on Turkish Airlines). But I was so tired, I fell asleep upright even before we started to taxi, had no recollection of even the take-off, and woke up, upright but fully refreshed, about 6 hours later, just an hour before landing! I wonder if you have had such an experience?

The seats on the BA short haul fleet at the back are the same design as those seats, they don't recline

There is no recline on EasyJet or Ryanair. I sleep better leaning back in economy. However I sleep well in BC if the seat is lie flat. If it’s angled then it depends how tired I am. Hope you’re staying safe in Bali.

I've flown with Cebu Pacific back in 2019 while travelling to Cagayan de Oro with their A320 and A321. In addition, I went to Busuanga; a small airport in the Palawan Islands with their ATR 72 turboprops. I knew that Cebu Pacific is a low-cost airline so I expected a low comfort seat and limited service. Then of course when I had that experience, the seats were uncomfortable on their A321 and ATR 72 due to their small size and the absence of reclining seats. I'm just here to observe the seats on the A321NEO which look similar to the A321-200 I flew on.

Pegasus airlines also you can't recline your seat specially on their new aircrafts

The seats are intended actually for mostly Filipino workers abroad that is why it configured that way. Anyway nice for you flying one of our airlines.

Those last seats are always not full, so I always seat in that area. Good choice!

Fun Fact Philipine Airlines has also a title same with Cebu Pacific. Philipine Airlines is Asia's oldest airlines

As budget airlines go, l consider Cebu Pacific to be head and shoulders above both Jetstar and Scoot airlines.

Sleeping on a flight? It is something I wish I could do - even during my routine UK-Thailand trips I am lucky to manage a couple of 1 hour naps - although I did get about 3 hours in total last time in EVA's Premium Economy.

Hi Josh! I am a Filipino and I learned that those seats are in a 15-degree pre-reclined position. That is why there is no recline.

A321 aircrafts has no recline button because it is already pre-reclined at 15°.. the older air craft which is the airbus a320 has a recline button. But it can accommodate lesser passengers. And shorter also.

Just flew domestically on Virgin Australia BNE-SYD and had the same situation with the seats. They don't recline!

CebuPac's 321NEOs don't have any recline, but they compensate it for the USB port for charging. They actually announce this pre flight. In their older planes (pre 321NEOs) you can recline your seat to a more comfortable angle than Ryanair.

Hi Josh you asked does any other airline not have recline seats , we flew Ryan Air from Edenborough to Barcelona in April 2018 and seats did not recline but I must add that we travelled with one of our group that needed special assistance and the service from arrivel at the airport to our final destination was fantastic with Ryan Air although i have to say that the mental tension from the time we booked the flight until we finally took off was palpable !!, as we had to join a cruise in Barcelona and there was no wiggle room, thanks for your youtubes as i work in the airline industry I just love your point of view :)

I’m 6’2” so the airbus 330 isn’t an option for SYD-MNL. Hoping the 321neo is a viable option for MNL-DPS for a 4hr medium haul flight

Decent plane. Love the crew uniforms, bright young and fresh. Not a hope in hell l would spend 10hrs on that seat with no recline and especially if it was a full load. Short hop around SE Asia definitely a good enough budget product. 👍

ive only took a nap on ecomy class. as i cant really sleep long because its harder for me to sleep throughout the flight seating down.

When I went to Arizona a few years ago, I accidentally left my whole backpack at security and remembered once we were already in the middle of eating dinner in the airport😂

Lion Air Airbus A330-300 and 900 have a all Economy layout with 440 and 436 respectively. But Thai Lion Air has a different two cabin layout on the 900.

Between PAL, Cebu pacific and Airasia, I've had the best experiences with Cebu pacific. None of them were perfect by far, but value for money- Cebu Pacific gave me the best product amongst the three airlines

In 2016 we flew Cebu pacific MNL to Dubai and back. On the way everything was good. Didn't have much on food items available so for 8hrs we only had cup noodles.. The worst was on our way back, flight didn't have any Food!! Only beverages was available.. Imagine 8hr not habing food on a flight, good rhing we bought some sandwiches at the airport before we boarded the plane.. Thats all. Crew was amazing though as alwayss

Well, I don't know why there are no recline buttons on each seat because all the way back to the year 2017, flying with Cebu Pacific in A320 all the way to HKG and back to Clark Airport, each seat has it recline buttons and recline well.

The passengers from across you could have spread out to empty seats behind and in front of them, lift the middle arm rest for a more comfortable nap.

On Ryanair's slimline seats they're pre-reclined. Great flight review!
