Pizza Lovers Rejoice - The Perfect Cutter Has Arrived
The Dalstrong brand for me has become synonymous with modern and innovative kitchen tool quality. Their new orbit razor pizza wheel fell right in line with my expectations. Just looking at their pizza cutter you will recognize several things that are consistent with many of their kitchen tools. The triple riveted handle design is full tang and is highly resistant to heat, cold and moisture. (Full tangs provide the most stability and strength, because they extend throughout the full length of the handle.) The handle’s fit is ergonomically designed for a high comfort grip and great control in mind. It also has a bolster at the end of the handle to help balance the cutter and protect fingers while the cutter is in use.
The wheel itself is innovatively designed with three spokes instead of as a solid metal wheel to prevent drag while in use, improving your slicing power. Preventing drag keeps your toppings on top of the pizza where they belong, so your slices all look like they have a precise and clean edge when finished. The wheel is also razor sharp, which allows for very clean cuts through even the thickest of crusts. You can see in my video how professionally cut each slice looks and how little effort it took to make them that way.
Clean-up is super easy. I simply rinse off the cutter under running water and then follow up with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Once dry, I make sure to immediately replace the wheel guard that comes with the cutter to help keep the edge sharp and knick-free. I also choose not run my wheel through the dishwasher because I do not want it to bounce against anything else during the washing process and possibly knick the cutting edge. The wheel guard is also wonderful for protecting fingers from accidental contact while stored in a drawer. I love every aspect of the performance of this pizza wheel and I appreciate all of the thought put into the engineering of making this product.
