I apologise, this one has been missed off my list for a long long time. I even owned one in the past 10 years and did not make a video of it. So I am putting that right. I got mine for the bargain price of £350 in the UK…am I happy with it, watch on and find out.

@@AirgunGearShow Hello friend. I've had this rifle for about 7 years but it's in 5.5 long version and I have to say it's perfect. It is extremely accurate at 50 m at 80-100 m, all groups are about 5-6 cm which is very good considering that it is cheaper up to 5 times more than the others and easy to maintain (went to the rings on the tank several times to be replaced in 15 minutes) . She prefers the H&N Baracuda Match 21.14 gr and has the best hits with them. Big greetings from Herzegovina.

Be interesting to see a review of the Nikko scope you're using - consensus is they're not what they used to be. What's your take on it ?

Giles I’ve had one of these since 2014 I’ve fitted a huma regulator to it @ 45 yards I can put 10 pellets in a group less than size of a 5p I’ve shot 100’s of rabbits with it and I’ve also modified my safety so it is fully manual very capable rifle

6:02... I took mine apart and filed off the piece that actuates the safety. Safety still works as intended but does not actuate every time the gun is cocked. Excellent review!

I've had one of these for a number of years. Paid £380 with a scope, moderator, and plastic bipod. Agree with everything you said about it. Mine loves H&N Field Target Trophy pellets the most. Will easily dust 20mm target disks at 30 yards. If you're going out in the field, get a sling. It gets uncomfortably heavy really quickly.

I’ve owned one of these for about 8-9 years and it’s been utterly reliable and has taken rabbits out to 50 yards no trouble. with only some basic cleaning it still shoots as straight as the day I bought it and it’s my go to tool for farm pest control 👍🏻

My AT44 short barrel (.177) is awesome.. Hammer adjustment only, I have had it up to 38fpe.. I mostly shoot it around 28fpe by pushing a 16.2 grain JSB Beast at around 880 fps.. Very consistent hole in hole at 25 yards (once in a while a flyer - bad pellet and/or shooter error).. Very flat shooting out to about 50 yards (15 yard to 50 yards, about 1 inch total trajectory, -1/2 inch to + 1/2 inch).. 10 shot bell curve 5 fps extreme spread, 20 shots with extreme spread of 20 fps.. If I drop the fpe I get more shots with lower extreme spreads.. If I drop the fpe to 24 fpe I can get 20 shots with extreme spread of 15 fps (sometimes 10 fps es).. I generally shoot 10 shots and then pump it back up to the 2450 psi, (less pumping this way), that is why I leave it at 28fpe, best all around performance for 10 shots, and it only takes a few pumps (with a hand pump - 25) to bring it back up.. You can drop it down to around 17-18 fpe and get a lot of shots with decent extreme spreads but that requires a lot of pumping too.. I rather shoot ten and pump 25 than to shoot 20 and pump 50-60.. lol (old age and lazy is my excuse).. hahaha

At least for now this sub 12 foot pound limit is not in the United States. Its a bummer to spend so much money on a soda straw shooting spit balls with a distance of 30 yards. Did you ever shoot crows? You can't get close to them. Most of my shots are over 120 yards, using a Hatsan BullBoss in .22 with velocity on average at 950 fps, which at that speed shoots a 14.3 grain pellet at a little over 28 foot pounds or 38 joules at the muzzle. (Naturally a good scope is need for that distance.)

My first pcp was the 25 caliber AT4410 QE long, still shoot it. I hunt with the AT4410S QE in 22 caliber using 18.13 gr JSB at 34 fpe. 20 good shots but you can stretch it to 30. Sub moa at 50 yds all day. Good review on an affordable gun.
@PiperX1X
@PiperX1X 4 года назад
This was the first pcp I owned and it was bullet proof, mind you it was a tad on the heavy side but you can’t have everything for a budget priced pcp. It never failed and bagged me plenty of bunnies and rats. As Giles said the safety catch is a bit of a pain in the arse as every time you cock it the safety engages but some may prefer it that way. I found that webley accu pells produced the best results for me and now my nephew is the proud owner of it he has stuck to them too.

Yes Sir Giles. Great video. I love my AT44-10. mine is in . 177. Flavour. It loves JSB exact. In 4.52mm. Awesome pcp for the price.......

mines the same with jsb's however my AT is so pellet fussy its unreal!! it will literally ONLY eat jsb exact 8.44gr in 4.53mm from either pellet die 4 or 7!! anything else even at 15 yards it groups like a shotgun!!

I owned one of these excellent rifles for a couple of years for pest control and plinking. It came with a basic scope sling and mod. The mags are great really worked well in the field. It was very accurate particularly with JSB exacts but still pretty good with bargain Crossman pellets. Like you say it’s weighty. One good feature you did not mention was the fact that you can unscrew the air cylinder and swap in a spare.

I always watch 101 to see the videos sooner. Then when RU-vid shows them I bring them up so I can give the video a thumbs up. (It's important to give the "thumbs up" so Giles and other creators as such will get a little more pocket change from RU-vid. That's not too much effort for us to show our appreciation for all of the hard work involved to create the videos.)

Hi Giles !!! This show NEEDS to be on TV after Wheeler Dealers. OK - Here's the million dollar question.. If I really want a Weihrauch HW100 but I can't afford it, is this my 2nd choice ? I'm not interested in the HW110 for some reason.

The AT44 platform is superb... Hubby and I own many many ultra high-end pcp guns from the Likes of FX (mainly FX), RAW/Rapid Air Weapons, Daystate and Air Arms.. We own 6 hatsan PCPs 2 of them being AT44s one in .22 and one in .25 and with some chrony time dialing in a solid tune and the 44 is superb... It's not refined and that's it's charm.. The trigger is usable but not a Crown or HM1000X trigger but it's a sub 400 dollar gun. With some time tuning and getting her really dialed 50y groups can rival the world class guns and consistently shocks us when we shoot them. At 100y the Crowns and Impacts will make it look like a dog but it's still capable of 100y shots on doves and such if you do your part... At 50y it's hole in hole and will shoot sub half inch 10 shot groups consistently with JSB 18.13s and H&N baracuda 5.51 head size and the .25 does it with 33.95 kings and only the king heavies... They are amazing sub 400 dollar guns and a hell of a great intro to pcp guns and highly and easily tunable.

Now giles... This was the 1st PCP riflel that I Bought a few years ago and while I don't disagree that is not the fanciest gun in the cabinet I would strongly disagree about the accuracy and effective range. mine shoot 10 shot bug holes at 50 yd with pretty good authority Maybe you just got a bum rifle...lol

Both of mine will shoot sub moa (around 3/8") for full mags, 9 and 10 shots at 50 yds as long as I do my part. I have taken squirrels and pests out past 75 yds and groundhogs at closer range. I always enjoy shooting them.
@nathanboulton2066
@nathanboulton2066 4 года назад
tbh its more than likely a pellet issue!! the hatsan and specifically the AT44 barrels are notoriously fussy. from what i could gather in my convo's with hatsan they all prefer bigger diameter pellets in .177 for ex 4.50mm is a waste of time you'll get better results using say 4.52 or even 4.53mm pellets, apparently its do to with the "button" they use to make the rifling, that and its a weird 1/21" left hand pitch!! My AT44 will literally only eat one type of pellet and im even using pellets from specific dies!!

I considered buying one a few years back and then I picked it up. Damn but it's weighty. I'm sure it is as good as you say but I'd need to work out to take that hunting 😁. Have you tried or reviews the Oral NP02 yet? I'd be interested to see what you think of it. I love mine.

I have to say 12 foot, pound limit is a huge advantage for this gun. If the regulator is mounted on gun Cylinders then you reduce the hammer weight slightly, you will have more shots and better accuracy its One of the best choice in price and performance with anti double load and hammer anti bounce lock mechanism . and a joke now... Your gun manufacturing date is August 2017 and you've been hiding it for ten years! Probably in the Hatsan factory ...? therefore Your videos are great and always have a flavor of fun and I love them Good luck
