I just got mine. I ordered 2. The cam is a bit grainy but quality enough to recognize and identify. What floored me was the wireless function. After installing app, I shutdown my phone's blue tooth and wifi. I left the house and went around the corner, far enough to see where this thing CAN be viewed live using your mobile data service on your phone. I was shocked! Thanks to this, it compensated the grainy footage. Not bad for an average $30 more or less. The motion detection is awesome. About 3 seconds into entering the house, it will take a snapshot and send a notification. There is IR but useless after about 5 feet. The is SD is the so called cloud you install (TF Card) which is a standard I prefer anyway because of the way online security can be compromised by Big Tech, which they would deny accessing anyway.. Whats remarkable is that it will auto date and time, and display date time and the day of the week with out technical bullshit. Its all automatic. I got mine off ebay. You may find some cheaper, but without battery. The battery is a special high drain type most commonly used in vape mods...18660 or somthing like that, I forgot the numbers. The clock is not too bit and not too small and is practically invisible to intruders especially to property personnel who has access to your apartment while you are at work. My only sole complaint it the back light of the time display. This type of blue is a bit loud for my eyes. It would of been nice if it was the traditional red. Anyway, its easy to set up and worth the buy. I give this thing 10 stars regardless of grainy footage. It beat the hell out of Ring and monthly subscriptions. All you need is your internet and a mobile device.

@@baselterkawi4758 leave the app? Do you mean in the background? The answer may be yes for you. I was at work and opened the app and you can see all in real time and there is a slot for mini sd for backup. I think it plays the role as a cloud though.

@@vi-ni6848 All of the wifi capable cameras including this one, as long as it is connected to your wifi and you have the platform downloaded on your phone that has internet with either wifi or cellular internet, you can view it from coast to coast. I can't speak for "far away" like out of the country, but I can imagine yes as long as you have an international connectivity plan.

Good news everybody; the problem has been resolved. I established a remote connection with all my cameras (Nov19/2019). The connection time is slow, but within 5-10 minutes it succeeds. Hopefully, this problem will also be resolved soon. Update: Sadly, the fix was short-lived. The P2P server was brought down permanently in Dec/2019.

@@gojoteoo9611 Yes, until the battery runs down after a few hours. Then you will have to plug it in again to recharge the battery. The camera will continue to work while the battery is recharging.

The 3 I have still record 4 up to 3 weeks but still will not connect to WIFI unless I am in my house. So i take the card out every 2 to 3 weeks and DL to my laptop.

Yes, that is the idea. The battery should only be used for when there is a power failure of under 3 hours.

You need to connect your phone to the camera's wifi signal. Afterwards, use your phone to go into the camera's menu so as to connect the camera to your home wifi. Once you do that, the camera stops emitting its own wifi signal. So, disconnect your phone from it and connect it to your home wifi too. Now, both your phone and camera are connected to your home wifi. Keep in mind that once your phone is out of range of your home wifi, you will not be able to connect to your camera, since remote connections are no longer possible.

Chris, as I have mentioned in previous posts, the P2P server(s) that converts your camera's unique ID (UID) into an IP address is down or decommissioned (since Aug/26/2019). Without an IP address, the app cannot remotely connect to your camera. One person has mentioned that the servers have been hacked and that they should eventually be fixed. After 4 weeks, I am skeptical, but hopeful, of any resolution any time soon (if ever). If you recently bought your camera, I would ask for a refund. I would definitely not recommend that anybody buy any similar cameras that run on any of the apps written by Zhang Gang, such as HDminicCam, IminiCam, and P2PLiveCam among many others. All these cameras will have the same problem. Bottom Line: Get a full refund.

You can download the video files stroed on the SD card to the storage on your phone. Select the "Record" icon at the bottom of your screen and then from the pull-down menu select "Remote SDCard" to see a list of video files.

@@wendigolycan, yes, I think so but you would not notice if you watch the video on a small smartphone screen. I think the video stored on your phone may be 720p while on the SD card it will be 1080p. The app allows you to set the resolution for the recording that goes to the SD card. Strangely, I think that if you are recording on both at the same time, you will have two different resolutions. I think the rationale for this is that the camera saves on bandwidth or transmission time when it sends a lower resolution video to your phone in which you would not see the difference in quality when you are viewing it from your phone.

I bought this, the wifi doesn't work very well. I finally got it to connect directly. There is a reset button on the back but no instructions on when or how to use it. The connection for the camera disappeared and had to use the reset but had to contact the manufacturer to find out how. First time I used it, had it set to 1080p and the image was absolutely terrible. I will try other settings, the field of view is horrid too. The app has options to move the camera view but it doesn't work with the clock camera apparently. 1080p should be a very nice picture but all I get is blurred video and screen tears. Every 20 to 30 seconds it skips like it lost connection. This is with a direct connection and not thru wifi. Would love to be able to use the wifi connection and view when I am not at home but the setup directions are horrible.

When you press the reset button, it makes the camera broadcast its wifi signal so that you can connect to it from your phone or PC. That connection is necessary to get into the configuration menu. Without that connection, the configuration menu does not show. Once you connect the camera to your home wifi (which is done through the configuration menu), the camera stops broadcasting its wifi signal. It's true, the camera does not have 1080p resolution. I think the best it gives is 720p. You can tell by examining the properties of the photos it takes. From a PC right-click on the photo, choose properties, and look at the second number of the resolution. You will also notice that photos created from the Live Video screen have a lower resolution that those created by the motion detection alarm.

When you reset the camera, you will see the camera's UID in the list of wifi networks in the area. You must connect to that network to configure the camera

The camera does not have a sensor to detect when it is dark. So you have to specify the hours when the night vision lights are turned on. Go to "Advance Config > IR LED Config". From there, select the start and end times of when night vision should be turned on. You can also turn on night vision from the "Live Video" screen by tapping on the top of the video screen to display the ribbon. From the ribbon tap on the lightbulb icon.

Some cameras have a compartment that you can open. Other cameras have to be opened up with a scree driver and the battery wires have to be cut off. Since the battery is rechargeable, you should not need to change the battery for a few years

I am surprised you managed to get any connectivity since you left home. No, I doubt the device is broken. You just need to get somebody to reboot it; turn it off and on. It is very common for it to go down especially after you reboot your modem/router.

The battery it probably takes is slightly larger than a AAA battery. The actual battery type is a 18650. It is has gotten more expensive. Here is the cheapest I have been able to find. Try rebooting the camera. If that does not work, reset it by pressing the reset button in the rear with a pin for at least 7 seconds. Be aware that camera is unsupported since August/2019. So the app has been removed from the Google/Apple stores. There is nowhere else to get it for Apple, but you can still get it from for Android: Since the app is unsupported, there is no P2P server to connect to anymore. That means you cannot view your camera from outside your wifi area. Get a refund if you recently purchased your camera!

It should work away from home ever since the P2P servers have become operational again in late Nov/2019. That said, a connection may take 10-15 minutes. Hopefully this problem will be resolved in the coming weeks.

DID NOT WORK!! WiFi ONLY I have a SPYcam webcam model IPCam 2019 firmware version 1.9.8.H hardware v 2.0 bought at auction allegro for about PLN 120. The camera worked only 2 months. from July 1 to around the beginning of September 2019. AFTER this time the application "Login in ..." and later "Request service ...." appeared - the camera could not log in. I thought it was a matter of Router and LTE internet - poor coverage or blocking of Ports in Router. Nothing of that. I have configured dozens of times on different Router / wifi phones always the same. The camera works - it records / records motion, takes pictures and saves on an SD card. Its main "live view" function does NOT work. You cannot log in to the application from another server or LTE. It is practically useless - it does NOT notify when it detects motion - the main function. The seller on the Allegro washes his hands - he claims that this is a manufacturer's fault and he should not hear about the return !! He claims that he contacted the producer. It is BLOCKADE's fault on all servers of these cameras. We don't know when they will fix it.

Yes, it stopped working on Aug26/2019, because the P2P servers were down for almost 3 months. It should work now, but it takes 5-10 minutes to establish a connection. Try again and leave it alone until it connects

I have been asking this and I hope someone can answer me, and other people. Why did all the clock cams stop working in Aug ( last month)? I have 3 clock cams and all 3 stopped the same night. I cant get them to sync to my phone or Internet. I have talked with other people whos Cams also stopped last month. 1 had said she heard the DNS went down, I don't know but would like to find out. These cams are awesome with perfect video/audio. Anyone ? ?

Stanley, I think that is what happened. The P2P server(s) that converts your camera's unique ID (UID) into an IP address is down or decommissioned (since Aug/26/2019). Without an IP address, the app cannot connect to your camera,. Nobody has any information as to whether the server(s) will ever be brought back up, even though these cameras are still being sold on eBay, Amazon, and Ali Express. Perhaps that is the only light of hope.

I have the same problem. I have lots of these cameras in different cities and they all failed. The devices are serviceable and can be connect to a local phone hot spot using UID then you give them the WiFi address and reboot they just show connecting but never do. One vendor said that the UID is too old so a bought a new clock camera from Amazon.ca this week but it has the same problem. I think the company that owns the server has gone out of business. Wyze cameras still work OK and I have not finished troubleshooting all of the other manufactures.

Yes, but not anymore ever since the P2P server was shut down in Aug/2019. Now you can only view the camera from within the same wifi network it is connected to. Do not buy!

There are two types of recordings. When you start recording from your smart phone, the video gets stored on storage of your smart phone. But when you schedule the time of when recording occurs (or by motion detection), the video is stored on the camera's SD card

@@ramin2v2, I highly doubt it. In any case, do not buy this camera since it has been unsupported since Aug/2019. As a result you can no longer connect to it from outside your Wifi network.

The app for Apple is no longer available anywhere. The app for Android is still available here. You can use any one that will work with your camera. MUCam works with all my cameras: apkfab.com/developer/gang.zhang

No there is no cloud service to store the video. And I doubt if anyone is intercepting the footage for dubious purposes.

I have spent way to much time trying to get this clock non wifi, non connecting, non operational camera working. I've treid some cheapo cameras and this one is just a mess. I think the app author has had a problem with the app. So you have a clock ,that keeps bad time. Somebody please reply if you find a standalone ip camera software or android app to work with this thing. Also, those having trouble, I have read that gang zheng says to use 2.4G. so you have to get into your home wifi router to make sure you have that available. Recent lightning strike took out cable and even though modem was working , decided to replace it. So,one more step trying to remember how to activate the 2.4G and try some more to get this ip camera working.

Yes, but the app and camera are no longer supported. Do not buy unless support is reinstated. As it stands now, remote connections are not possible

Nothing. Without the P2P server, you cannot get an external connection anymore -- only a wifi connection. The camera is no longer supported. Get a refund if you recently bought it.

Yes, but the audio on some cameras sold in the US may be disabled to comply with the privacy laws there

@@angelosantos7691 Reformat the card --- either with the camera or with a PC or both. Also make sure that you are not inserting the card up side down. I have two identical looking cameras but the card goes in differently

As long as the P2P servers remain unavailable (ever since Aug/2019), I do not recommend you buy this camera. Even the app it uses has recently been removed from the Google/Apple stores. These problems suggest that the camera has outlived its useful purpose with no future support for it.

I contacted the seller who contacted the manufacturer. You need to find the reset button and hold it until the clock turns off. Then turn it off and back on. Worked for me, I will say that this is definitely not 1080p. The first video I saw was VERY bad quality with a lot of tearing in the image and it kept skipping and pausing every 20 to 30 seconds.

This is not good news. All the apps written by Gang Zhang are no longer available at the Play Store. This may mean that there is no more support for these cameras

Reset the camera by holding down the reset button for 7 seconds. It's wifi signal will disappear again once you connect the camera to your regular wifi network

Anywhere around the world but not anymore ever since the P2P server was shut down in Aug/2019. Now you can only view the camera from within the same wifi network it is connected to. Do not buy!

Okay so I have set up this can various times. However recently the mofo only connects when i am also connected on my phone at my home wifi. Other than that it always says offline or logging in. Any ideas as to what's going on?

You can try with P2PLive Cam as well... Please make sure it will worj on 2.4G network...

To add to what Haitham Badran said, as long as the P2P server is down, no app will get your camera to work like before. If I am wrong, please enlighten me.
