so can it have a wheelbase/ATA of 123mm or 4.8in?
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
Maximum is 120mm by the original parts but you can set the wheel camber/caster to extend that a bit so yes, it can do 123mm. You can also extend the chassis with DIY plates so the wheelbase is practically infinite.

Are you using a pvc table cloth for your track?
@BeaversHobby

Yes, it's pvc/vinyl table cloth. Here's how I made it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wM-k0NpaxMg.html

A little off-topic here. You and I have spoken about the Mini-D chassis in the past. Is there a more standard name that is used for this chassis? It can't be found on RU-vid under that name and I wonder if there's another name for it. Thanks!
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
It's just Mini-D or Yokomo Warrior 1/28 but Mini-D is more common. I guess there aren't many people who have it so you don't really see the videos.

how can I make this twice slower? can I add smaller tires?
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
Yes, you can use smaller (standard size) tyres. Other things you can do are changing tyre compound, change the suspension setup and change the drifting surface or coat it with slippery oil.
@virginiapaddler4857
@virginiapaddler4857 Год назад
Great video! What would you suggest for a Adjustable chassis (wheelbase and track) RWD for use with multiple 1/24 scale and 1/25 scale model cars for just touring around. not really drifting for now.
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
Long story short; Mini-Z MR03 or Mini-Q Q2/MRC-01 will do fine for touring with 1/24 body. Full details: Unfortunately most of 1/24 cars right now are for drifting. We generally do 1/24 to accommodate the scale model. For touring around, stick with 1/28 because it has durable body from Mini-Z. You can also modify Mini-Z MR03 to extend it however you like. Using RWD drift chassis for touring doesn't work well because 1/24 doesn't come with differential needed to drive normally. Also the steering arrangement to get maximum angle doesn't withstand the stress and grip of touring.

What is the best 1/24 RC you ever tried? I cannot decide which one
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
It's this one, MA Racing 1.5. It's easy to build, easy to tune and easy to drive even for a beginner. The only troubles being the price and availability. I don't know if it's still $400 with limited run or not. But if it's not available anymore, DriftArt 3S is also a good choice.

Which chassis would you recommend for slow and smooth drifts without any weightshift? Low traction, low centre of gravity, easy setup/drifting
@BeaversHobby

GLD or DRZ V2
@muaythai193
@muaythai193 Год назад
@@BeaversHobby thank you! Any body recommendation for slow/smooth drifts? Or does it make only a small difference?
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
@@muaythai193 Keep it 90-94mm narrow body with short front and rear overhang. All of the Skylines, GT86/BRZ and Supra Mk.V (the BMW M4 one) are good for that.
@muaythai193
@muaythai193 Год назад
@@BeaversHobby wow didn’t expect that. So the shorter wheelbase bodies drift slower and smoother than the 98-102mm bodies with overhang (BMW M3 GTR, Chrysler 300C, Honda Odyssey)
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
@@muaythai193 The speed is from the tyres so choose whatever the most slippery available like DS Racing LF-5. The short wheelbase and narrow will make it smooth and agile.

Subbed! Would you suggest the Furitek 3500 or 5500kv motor for this? And the 7500 would be an absolute no no? Thx in advance!
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
It depends on your track size. 5500KV is really good and you can gear it up or down very well with this chassis so that's a good start. 3500KV if your track is small, under 2m wide (that's in this case, normally it'd be fine until 3m). 7500KV is way too fast for micro drift track. You might need that if you will run it along 1/10 though.

Building mine now! 😀 Thanks so much. I thought it came with a gyro from this video. Can you suggest a couple good mid to high-price/quality gyro? Also - do you know if the disc brake set is available or will be?
@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby Год назад
@@thedreamingsupercade Take a look at AGF GY04M V3 or AFRC GYS-2 V3 for the gyro. It's basically the same, good and reliable at a reasonably price. As for the brake disks, it doesn't seem to be available right now and I don't know if they will remake it or sell separately at this moment.

@BeaversHobby
@BeaversHobby 8 месяцев назад
@@michaelstronghand7584 No worries. Unfortunately the one you pick won't fit either. DRZ3 MP needs even smaller servo than this. There are Atomic servo, PN Anima (the thin one) or AGF A06CLS. There should be one from GL Racing too but I had it and it was weak and slow compared to the others.

Are you going to review the radio link rc8x?
@BeaversHobby

I tried to get banggood to send one but no luck. As far as I know it still runs the same protocol so it's not going to be any faster, higher resolution nor longer range. The extra adjustments on the transmitter are really nice if you will use those. Personally if it's my own money I'd get the Futaba 4PM Plus because it's the same price and that would be a nice upgrade to my old 3PK.
