Review of a handheld interview-type microphone useful for creating RU-vid videos. See amzn.to/2O5LreW. It's the Comica CVM-WM100 (H) Wireless handheld microphone. Nice mike, tends to high frequencies, needs a windscreen (not supplied) to avoid plosives, or you can just hold it down below your mouth. This is the kind of mic you see TV newspeople using.

U never talked about the features inside the microphone. There where 2 switches where the batteries goes. One is a channel sequence switch and the other is low cut/ normal audio switch. I eas hoping u explained what the audio switch does but u missed it.

Nice review Dave. I’m a huge sucker for wireless mics. In the whole world of wireless mics, $200 is really cheap. Oddly enough for my RU-vid channel I use a cheap $100ish wireless lav from Pixel that has been doing quite well for me. As a guitarist, I would scoff at a wireless system in that price range. They quite frankly aren’t good enough to reproduce the signal to the desired quality. I use a Shure QLX-D, running a little less than $1,000, and the top of the line for pros is the Shure Axient system that runs several thousands of dollars above that. I think the mic sounded a lot better in the first half of the video. Once you put the processing on towards the end it sounded kind of dead to me. It does seem to be a pretty hot mic from what we heard in the first half however. But what do we expect, it’s Chinese hihi? The other thing I noticed was the amount of noise/vibration picked up from handling the mic. Very low shock absorption, which isn’t entirely uncommon in hand held mics, but it was pretty boomy from what little it looked like you were handling it. All in all I would say it should suit you just fine for what you are doing, but definitely put a wind screen on it. The plosives were pretty harsh. Anyway, love the channel, it was great meeting you at the Warped Wing Brewery in Dayton this year, and I look forward to the next. #oggiesforlife! 73

Great video, I think when it comes to microphones there can be no compromise. As it stands today.

It's the camera pointed down at my desk for overhead shots. I need to move it a few inches higher.

We are so use to wireless this and that ..... we need to also research its effects on our health. I know that is laughed at but even in study for our ticket it sys RF is dangerous. ... just saying ... good info though.

Fortunately the transmitter inside the mic is very low power.

@@davecasler Thanks for the note. I have meter now that measures magnetic, electrical and RF fields in real time. It is interesting.
