Did you do a transfer case drop? If not are you getting any vibration?
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 3 года назад
I didn’t drop the transfer case or add a SYE. I notice a slight vibration at 30 mph but is goes away at 35mph

I just did a 3" Zone Off Road lift on my 95 XJ (Project Bumble Jeep). I went with the full kit (new rear leaf packs and shocks all around) wasn't horrible got a good deal on Amazon. Had to transfer case drop (1 1/4") and I also did a sway bar drop. Didn't have time to do the bastard pack and didn't want to go with the coil spacers and add a leaf. I wanted a "real" lift. Also had to replace rear shackles, best deal on Rock Auto. I always enjoy seeing other XJ builds, check out mine on RU-vid Project Bumble Jeep. And Thanks for sharing. Also, my has no bump stops (yet) and haven't done the extended brake lines yet either, but they're coming.

That thing is flexin big time for a 3” lift!
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 3 года назад
I’m surprised also. I’m pretty happy with the flex.
@cablenowadays6586
@cablenowadays6586 3 года назад
I get about 32” of flex on 3” RC lift and 2” adjustable shackles in the rear. I run 33s and i have my finders cut in the front and folded in the rear. I also have my control arm brackets notched and track bar notched to not bind and inhibit travel. I could get more flex if i could stuff my tires more.

@@cablenowadays6586 so you dont need trimming for 3 inch tire 32?

Great video! I definitely want to do the hack’n tap too! And grab a double cardan drive shaft from the front of an auto XJ; they will fit perfectly. Also I need to extend my bump stops a little more. Glad the lift is working out for you. ❤️🐞

It’s a Bug’s Life yeah, the hack n tap will be nice so I only need to carry 1 driveshaft.

Nice Bastard pack lift. Indeed, an adjustable track bar will place your front wheels in line with your rear wheels and sway bar disconnects will add articulation and save replacing your sway-bar bushings so often. BTW, I've had very good luck with Moog HD control arm bushings

nice work ........Jeep manuals harp on about wedges to adjust drive shaft angles at diff input flange .....could vibration be coming from "knuckling over" of the universal joint on drive shaft ? In other words if you lift the suspension you also have to rotate axle to minimize drive shaft angles or bring them within a certain ideal operating range.
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 3 года назад
That certainly could be the case. Adding the Durango leafs did rotate the pinion up quite a bit so I’m wondering if it’s up too much. Its only noticeable at 30 mph. Any faster or slower it’s fine

Really curious about these shocks as that's a BIG money saver. A full set of Bilsteins for 3" of lift is $350 on Amazon, whereas your setup is maybe half that. I've also seen where you can find used "like-new" JK Rubicon shocks discarded after a lift for cheap on FB Makretplace. These supposedly bolt right up to a 3" XJ lift with very minor alteration. Do you have any experience with the brand name shocks or the JK takeoffs? If so, how do they compare to what you chose? Subbed to your channel as I fully have the XJ bug (own 3). Fantastic content.

Hows she ride when hitting pitted out pot holey roads or hard washboard with the stiffer springs? I feel like it would be pretty harsh wouldn't it?
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 4 года назад
The front end like to bounce up a little bit up rebound. Not to bad though. It feels pretty close to stock suspension to me. It might even be a touch softer.

We’re the rear leaf springs from a 3 inch lift Durango? Or just stock leaf springs?
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 3 года назад
These are used stock Durango springs. They gave my jeep about 3 - 3.5” lift

I'd like to get you to help me with my lift that I'm installing on my 99 XJ. I don't have a clue on what I'm doing, and I really don't know how to weld. So I think I'm going to have some trouble on the install. Wish me luck and I have to say I really like your videos

Did bds ever get back with you about your coils being different sizes?
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 4 года назад
Bds didn’t have much to say other than the coils should be the same length. I contacted jackit.com where I bought them, ang got them replaced. Jackit replaced them with not questions ask.

Nathan Fisher I ended up building my own out of 3/16” plate. I made a couple of videos building it on my channel. Here’s a link to part 1 of the build ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OqyWLtqA840.html

What are the part numbers for the front and rear shocks
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 3 года назад
Fronts are KYB KG5467 Rears are KYB KG5441 If I had it to do over again I’d try to find front shocks that are a little stiffer. Maybe some for a 2000 Silverado? I’m not sure they would fit but maybe stiffer. They work fine but the front feels like it bobs up and down more than it should.
