My xj with trimmed wheel wells and 3.5 lift and 265 75s 16 nd 4.11 gears is alot of fun not sure if I'd go any bigger myself often think about 32s but that's the biggest I'd go love xjs
Mine is a daily driver, so I just stuck with 31s, some ppl talk smack but I think they look good that way, not every jeep needs to be a monster truck. Plus, I like the power and handling set up like this better. Are you going bigger? Also, by daily driver, I mean stop and go at customers 15 times all over town, then often customers are 50-100 miles away up the ridges on busy freeways. It’s my only car.
Good looking rig, right on with the 31s, My 2000 XJ is on 31s as well, everybody tells you need 33s or 35s, but for my style of overlanding it works for me and I still get 19 MPG oh and I have the same front bumper as you, got mine from JCR DIY kit
So, I’m guessing you didnt put new shocks with the lift? The good news? The new shocks will go on easier with some of the holes punched out. Did you get the flagnut kit?😁
Wrong, if you run 31x10.50/15 speed won't change, but the min you run anything bigger than the recommended factory 15 inch rim then yes speedo changes! Happy trails boys
I miss the ZR2 ride comfort on the freeway, but this Jeep on 31s with no lockers is more capable than my ZR2 was on 35s, so I don’t miss it at all on the trail
@@southeastadventures7897 if you watch the ledges that I drove down in this video, the ZR2 has a much longer wheelbase and would have been scrapping on the frame/rock sliders, also there were many tight turns that I made between two trees where the ZR2 would not have fit because it is longer and wider and doesn’t turn as sharp
