Review of the 10mm Sig Sauer P220 

Just picked up a P220 Legion 10mm a couple of weeks ago, and it was worth every penny. Easily one of the nicest pistols I own now, and it's incredibly easy to shoot with full power loads.

I have the p220 elite emperor scorpion 10mm and it’s one of my most treasured firearms. Sig sauer is the finest manufacturer of firearms on the planet minus the p320. The p220 elite 10mm is the modern version of the Bren Ten with none of the mistakes, these handguns can be viewed as of a work of art of the highest quality. Jeff Cooper would be proud of the progression of the 10mm

I have the Legion P220 in 10mm and it is one of my favorite pistols. In my opinion it is one of the best 10mm pistols on the market. I am testing some 140 gr G9Ammo 10mm through the P220.

Definitely going to pick one of these up in a few months when im of age. Looks like the perfect tool to carry for black bear protection when im hunting. The other 10s I've researched don't seem to handle "hot" loads nearly as well, and hot loads is all i want it for.

Excellent Review. I just got a Legion P220 chambered in 10mm. I have a couple videos shooting the P220 and I am impressed overall with the round itself. From shooting at 5 yards and shooting at 50 yards it definitely handles itself much better than other Duty/Carry pistols currently on the market.

Awesome content Chris! My favorite thing about the Sig 10mm ammo is its True 10mm. Also Sig makes their FMJ loads and their HP loads to the same spec. So you can shoot the with same recoil impulse as their defensive loads when training.

Dornaus & Dixon Enterprises Produced the Bren 10 starting in 1983. The company went out of Business because of design flaws, manufacturing and financial problems. They couldn't even fill the pre-paid orders. The Next 10mm was the Colt Delta Elite. It initially had some problems but Colt Modified the Frame to keep it from cracking at the slide release. Other companies like Wilson brought out full length guide rods with a different spring system. I bought my Delta Elite shortly after the Miami Dade Shoot Out. Jeff Cooper's review of the Delta Elite in Guns & Ammo created a great demand. I bought one as soon as I could find one. The original Norma ammo was very hot. 200 gr FMJ at 1200 fps. My Delta Elite liked the Winchester 170 grain JHP that was a full power load. Recoil felt less to me than the recoil from a S&W 66 4" Shooting 158 gr .357 Magnums. And follow up shots were quicker. The FBI S&W model was the 1076. It was very much like a Sig 220. It had a decocker, was double action/single action. I bought an updated 1076 in 1991. The S&W 1006 was a commercial model and was not issued to the FBI. It had a longer 5" barrel, a slide mounted safety and no decocker. I also bought a 1006. I carried a 1076 for a few years. Mine was very accurate. I ended up getting rid of my Delta & S&Ws. But missed my Delta it and Bought a Colt Delta Gold Cup in in 1992. I still have and shoot it. Unfortunately the FBI 1076 guns had problems and S&W modified them to fix the problems The original idea was for agents to carry 180 grain at 950 fps. And carry extra magazines of full power 180gr JHP. S&W realized that the 1076 was to big for the hands of many agents. The FBI ended up arming most of its agents with the low powered 180 gr 950 fps load. And only SWAT agents with full power loads. So S& W brought out the 4006 in 40 S&W. It was the same power as issue less powerful 10mm load. The Glock 22 in 40 S&W eventually became the most popular handguns in Law Enforcement. Double Tap ammunition filled the Void by creating real full power 10mm loads when everyone else except Winchester was making 40 S&W level loads. Double Tap and Buffalo Bore make Great Full Power 10mm loads for defense and hunting. Cheers

I have a sick 220 10 mm it's an awesome gun and I have the Delta elite 10 mm it's an awesome gun and I have the Smith & Wesson performance center 10 mm it's an awesome gun half plastic though

Chris, I had no idea that the P220 was the original design from which the P226 was derived....I thought it was the other way around. Thanks for the informative video! I've been looking for quite some time at getting a good, all metal semi-auto chambered in 10mm. Right now, I've narrowed my choices down to a good, mid-grade, 1911 (something like a Springfield TRP) or this Sig P220. Would you ever consider doing a comparison video? I'd be interested in hearing how the designs compare and any associated pro's and con's.

I realize after a recent call in that you are not a Ruger fan. But you might want to try the Ruger SR1911 - 10mm

I was gonna go with this sig. But after doing some research i just dont feel it has enough capacity like the Glock or Witness so I bought a witness and i couldn't be happier! Ive owned sigs before and aware of the design of the guns ! But its only 8 rounds! My gun holds almost twice the sig holds!

I'm sure its a great firearm and it looks like it shoots like a dream, however the cost of the ammo may deter the average weekend target shooter.

I have a question that is off topic. You seem to know a lot about AR 15 rifles. If a guy could only afford one rifle,what would the best all around Ar 15 be.Something that is military quality and reliable im not afraid to spend money but don't want to waste it on non needed add ons. Any comments or opinions would be welcomed thankyou I really like your videos and knowledge.

The 10mm keeps showing up every 10 years, becomes popular for 1 year and 10 years latter it's rediscovered by the gun magazines because they have nothing to write about. I remember the FBI going with the 10MM and they were using Smith & Wesson 1076's. I initially thought they were using Colt Double Eagle action pistols. Also a small or big part of the FBI adopting the 10mm was women. it's too big! it's too heavy. waa waa waa. Fuck it just let them shout harsh words at perps. Glock 20's were in fact specifically made to handle 10mm. Their upper receivers were beefier than other Glock pistols.

They are WAY too expensive. You can get a Desert Eagle .50 AE for the same price or cheaper.
