I have momentum 2 for 3 years now, I am definately upgrading to 4 I appreciate sennheiser's customer support, I bought a pair from Amazon India with 2 years of International warranty, the left earbud stopped working after one and a half year, sennheiser honored their international warranty and replaced the whole pair for free when I was in USA
Bought my TW3 on Nov 2022 and finally few days back it started it's battery issues. Went back to Sennheiser for repair but they did a one to one exchange for the TW4 instead. According to them this is a global issue with the TW3 regarding battery and it will be discontinued and they have changed the company that manufactured the batteries. So i guess the main upgrade is "better and reliable" batteries. Well a free upgrade aftr almoat 2 years of usage is a good deal for me. So far i'm loving the sound on these earbuds, there's no perfect earbuds that shines in all aspect but this is a good all rounder IMO. 👍😮
Auracast is a big deal going forward a lot of people are going to want that feature. So upgrading from the 3 will be a must although not for everyone. Thanks guys for the review. 💯🔥🔥🇺🇸
The 3s were my favorite earbuds for sound, by far, especially after the customization update a while back. Also, the most comfortable and secure for me. Even compared to "luxury" offerings like the Gemini II. I just want the things to last more than 3-6 months without dying or breaking down... I baby my stuff, and I went through 4 pairs still under warranty. Taking a chance, hoping they've made durability improvements with the 4s. Fingers crossed.
Sennheiser's EQ/personalized sound made the 3s incredible. Playing your own music and selecting various graphs to what sounds best for you is a pretty ingenious way to make a EQ. The personalized sound EQ similar also provided a similar sounding EQ.
Thank you guys for your amazing review as always. I am a sennheiser fanboy. Regarding these earbuds I totally agree we need to wait , i will especially wait for a software update.
Sennheiser Momentum TWS 4 vs Technics AZ80, which one would you pick? Mainly going to use them on airplanes, so ANC, Battery life and sound quality, are the most important features.
Thanks for your review. I have never bought expensive earbuds. Last pair were Pamu And they’re OK lasted five years. Still going strong but wanted something better hoping the momentum 4 that I ordered yesterday is a major step up
@@reklovjj Perl pro is the way to go I had the mtw 4 for about 3 weeks now and got the Perl pro a week now, the mtw 4 is collecting dust, Perl pros are way better
Finally! A channel that I am confident that's honest in reviews. The MTW3 was a big disappointment for me, and its tagged as frequently returned item on Amazon UK. Too bad coz I really liked it's sound quality. Hope to see a review after six months from the time you reviewed this.
My no. 1 earbud after the last 12 years up to now has always been my Shure SE something wired earbuds. Most accurate, soundstage, highs, midrange and natural big bass. Until a wireless comes along and beats it I’m staying with my Shure! I paid $500 for them, still the best. There a reason why entertainers wear them while performing to keep up with their live band. (Listen to Acoustic Alchemy’s Angel of the South and The Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter songs for the range tones you’ve never heard before.)
Ah! What we need to be able to do calls in Noisy and more clearly is a handset with a air channel inside. So you speak into the handset and the voice will travel up to the earpiece. Or we could make the option that if you take out a earpiece you can hold it in your hand as a microphone. Then also noice cancellation will work the best just like a cellphone. Ideas ideas.
I have both get the Perl pros bro, I’m telling you wasting your time with Sony and sennheizer and all these other brands like Bose, I have the mtw 4 and Perl pro, the perls sounds way better, the bass of the Perl is infinitely better than sennheizer. I also have the air pods pro 2, it’s not for sound quality it’s my running and talking on the phone earbuds. If you only getting one, Perl pro, not even close
It amazes me how an audiophile headphone company like Sennheiser can't get the wireless tech right. I LOVE Sennheiser wired headphones (I run the HD6XX with a Topping DX3 Pro+), but I wish they could knock it out of the park just once! But then they would be perfect and the world can't have that right??
I had the battery issue with the mtw3 too. in the beginning of the year, they send me a new buds set, and since todays ago, they stop charging again. I wrote there support and they are exchanging my dead MTW3 with new MTW4. So the Support is great, hopefully the MTW4 will life longer
Was debating between Sennheiser TWS4, the Technics and the Denons. After your review I ordered the Denons. Plus PerL Pro are 20% off with coupon right now at Amazon. Nice!
Got them at $280.00 as well direct from Denon back around Thanksgiving as Denon matched AMZ price and provides 60 days return window. AMZ provides a 30 days window and holds your refund for 30 days…
3 days ago have to send my Sennheiser 3 back to Sennheiser cause right earbud is dead after 1,5 year of high usage. Agree that the sound of Denon is breathtaking but ANC and calls with Sennheiser is much better and soundwise they are also excellent.
Mine died after 2 months of use. But, they offered me an upgrade to the MTW4. Despite the reliability issues, hats off to Sennheiser for the great warranty service.
Hi, new here. Feedback: I think it’s great that you advice to wait instead of buying right away (like most of the influencer do). Thanks! Do you have a recommendation for wireless In-Ears for small ears for business phone calls as well as sports? I do have the AirPods Pro and they are great until they are not anymore after two years. Battery life súcks and they do not fit well when speaking/eating/sportive movements, keep getting loose/ falling out. I work with Microsoft and Apple products, if that helps. My go to wireless over ears are from Bose (NC 700, good for small heads, but could be a little bit tighter). Cheers from Germany!
I like Sennheiser's app EQ. Both the personalized sound EQ and the EQ that has you play your own music and select various graphs as a way to adjust the lows, mids, and highs. It's nifty. Both EQs end up being very similar to each other, so I guess they're doing a great job. I actually don't know if I would like the Sennheiser's nearly as much without taking advantage of those EQ options but of course almost all earbuds have apps with solid enough EQ settings.
Could you please provide a comparison between Sennheiser momentum tws 4 and Jabra elite 10? I'd like to understand the differences between the two. Thank you!
Currently i have the Sennheiser TW4 and the Audio Technica ATH-TWX9. Hope u can review the Audio Technica coz for me it's a sleek looking earbuds with both touch control and physical buttons (stem design) and sounds amazing making it close enought to the Momentum TW4!! it's an underrated earbuds.
I love the option of charging just to 80% to prolong battery longevity (it makes perfect sense with fast charging). AptX Lossless is great for people with CD-audio-quality WAV files in their music library. Great review and thoughts! 👌🏼
Nice review. Senneheiser have produced some great audio products (I've got their wired iem and headphones). It's not just "user replaceable" batteries I'd consider, I do consider whether it's "easy battery replacement". Apple air pods pro 2 are easy- take into Apple (or send off). Shure Aonic TW2 are easy- the Bluetooth ear hook with battery is detachable from the ear buds (which you can use on wired- my Shure buds are 10 years old). The Sony wfxm3 battery can be replaced with a degree in electronics (or the right tools, right video, persistence, care and luck).
Fair point. But you can bet your butt if regulations demand it, these companies will very quickly figure out how to incorporate user replaceable batteries!
@@DHRME user replaceable batteries for earphones don't bother me as it's not a regular thing to do. For phones it could make more sense. For a flagship phone price I expect at least 5-6 years of use. A battery might replaced once or twice in that time - I don't need it to be user replaceable, just easy to do and preferably cheap in relation to the cost of replacing the phone There used to be phones with user replaceable batteries. I still have some (and a stack of different Samsung batteries as their models didn't keep the same size!). However, the replaceable battery was more because a single battery wouldn't make it through my working day. These days the phones I buy have more than long enough battery life to get me easily through the day, the same for earbuds. A much more useful sustainability law, from my perspective, would be requiring that phone companies to provide a minimum of 4 years of security and OS updates.
So, I noticed you didn't like the AZ80 when listening to metal, how about Momentum 4 when it comes to Metal? I listen to Metalcore 90% of the time, so I have to have the best earbuds for Metal. Or is Denon better for Metal?
Yeah, I tested and returned them. I think I am quitting the game of continuously buying new earbuds, there is no significant improvement anymore. My JLab epic lab edition beat most other buds in sound and for convenience I grab my AirPods Pro 2. Maybe I’ll be back in, when gen 3 sees the light of the world.
I have the MW3's and the EX also. My EX is running into problems with battery life. They are almost worthless at this point. Have had about a year, lightly used. Sound quality, the edge goes to the EX.
I watch a movie or show awhile back and they went to a warehouse party but no music. It's a silent party that's why they all wearing headphones. Is that what Auracast is like?
Yes maybe they used’à différent technology than auracast but the résultats looks similar. .in auracast each headphones could also have another channel(différent version of th same song for instance)
@@O1dmanwalker that s what should happen but i am not sure...because i also read that on the sony you lose multipoint when using auracast or LE audio . so short answer i dont know :-)
My MTW3's right earbud died, got MTW4 in replacement for free (in Hong Kong). I am on the same page as the review. Sound quality is similar, ANC is little bit better. Also the fit seems better because of the slight design change in rubber tips.
Im disappointed in the momentum 3s, the durability is laughable at best. I've gone through two sets and the main issue is if you accidentally drop your case on the ground or it slips off the desk it bascially is guaranteed to give you issues. First my right earbud sounded like I was listening through a tin can, then they fell off a desk and now the left earbud makes this annoying strobing high pitch tone that doesn't go away. For the moment I don't recommend the 3s hopefully they uped the durability for the 4s
@@dejavu7031 az60 or az60m2 can't compete with m3 or m4...i have them all. Az80 are a very solid earbuds, but they lack of bass. Excellent soundstage one of the best that ive heard, clarity is phenomenal. Az80 is like bmw and m4 are like a ferrari.
Mixed reviews. Some say the personalized setting opens the sound up and makes them sound significantly better. I can vouch for that only for the momentum tw3 (haven't heard th3 tw4 yet). Also some reviewers have these louder than the Sony by about 3dB. And battery life around 6hrs (anc on). So I'm thinking variation differences (quality control?
Battery life has a lot of factors that influence it. On sound, we did an objective test. Sony in LDAC, MTW4 on Adaptive, so pretty confident about our results.
@DHRME I really struggle to choose between these two. I love bass & sound quality, but also important these buds are must be comfortable, ok not for a whole day but for few hours definitely. Thank you for your quick response. You guys are amazing 👏
Sorry, haven't dealt with TWS much (incl. M3 True Wireless). Are accidental touches still a problem nowadays (say if I'm slightly adjusting their placement from time to time)? Thanks!
At max volume, do the earphones retain sound signature? Bose QC II tend to let the highs go crazy at max volume. Technics AZ 80 with dynamic EQ sound good, and sound better and do not lose sound signature as much at max volume.
I love the sound of the M3. I like them more compared to other brands. Reliability, unfortunately, was an issue. I went through 2 pairs. It was the dropping of sound in one ear bud.
You said, "Wait"... I guess you mean wait for the reliability and especially price drop... What if I can get a pair for $210 USD or $190 Euros right now?? 😁😁
Very "sound" recommendation. My MTW3 too died after a few months of use. I won't even consider getting MW4 until it proven itself. I doubt Sennheiser will ever fix this issue that has been around since MW1
Hello, I used mtw2 before and I was extremely satisfied. I was cycling for hours and it still did not fall out of my ears. mtw2 broke down, they sent me mtw3, it didn't fit my ear at all and it was falling out of my ear while doing sports. I had the same problems with Airpods pro 2 and sold the product I'm looking for a headset with good music quality and transparency mode that won't fall out of my ears, which one would you recommend?
I have just ordered the Momentum 4 Over Ear headphones and Momentum 4 TWS ear buds. This was my first Sennheiser product and I was not impressed with either. Especially the ANC, neither actually cancels noise 100%. I can still hear outside noise while ANC is at the max. I will be returning both as that is not acceptable for this price point. Also most phones do not support the aptX Codec which is needed for lossless audio quality therefore making Sennheisers audiophile sound unreachable for most devices.
No earbud you will ever get will take 100 percent of noise out. That is an expectation that is never gonna be met if that is what you are solely wanting from ANC. The only ones that come close are the Bose earbuds, but there is still sound that makes it through. If you want complete sound dampening, which will still not be 100 percent...You need to be investing with over the ear headphones. Those are gonna get closer to that expectation of zero noise.
@@raifordkenneth15 i think that's user preference...and i have the B&OEQ not the B&O EX but i prefer so far the Denon Perl Pro and even better to my ears the Fidelio T2. I also think the B&W PI7 sound better
Not going to lie, I have been trying these now for a week and I’m not impressed. Not for this price. Before I detail why, I should note I do not care for features beyond that of build, sound, and ANC. Also my favourite earphones are Xm4/Xm5 so much of what I am about to say won’t be a surprise 😂. I hate the case. It feels terribly cheap, and like many others there is not enough space in the case for larger 3rd party tips like the decent foam tips from dekoni audio. The only buds I have found to do this are the XMs and Soundcore Liberty 4s. I don’t like the lack of punchy bass, comparing them to the XMs, both with a bass heavy EQ. It feels as if there is something missing in the low end, even though I know the bass isn’t terrible but it’s just my preference. The ANC is good. No complaints. It rivals Sony. None of the wing tips fit my ears, which is not so much of an issue if I use foam tips but its bothersome to take them on/off the buds when using them. IMO not worth the price. Reduce it by 30% and maybe.
Weird to ask. I do not think I have ever heard it on headsets even connected to the 3.5mm jack. But understandable! Should have been a feature you could enable.
It's a pretty standard feature on almost every pair of buds. Sennheiser had it on the MTW1,2 but took it off the 3. The Momentum 4 headphones also have it.
Excellent work guys… like always. I most definitely want to pick these up myself, but with the issues of the MTW3 I’m thinking it’s best to hold off for a while. ** As far as the personalized EQ within the app, it took me some time of playing around with it & finally got it to my liking & they sounded pretty damn good… but then they randomly died on me😂
I do care about environment, but I don't about the figure they say they reduced packaging[53%] because what does this number mean???For me NOTHING as you do not know how much it is in real life.
They are currently going for 200 on Amazon. At that price point, they are definitely worth it. I just bought them this weekend and will be receiving them tomorrow.
Check a proper detailed review of Momentum 4 on the internet (not RU-vid) and you will see they are an upgrade in several ways from Momentum 3 and that these perhaps are the new world beater earbuds around when it comes to sound (Denon excepted). People are terrified that they will have the issues that Momentum 3 had and so they easily underrate Momentum 4.
Sennheiser is a no for me. The last two versions haven't lasted. My favs are Denon and Master and Dynamic's Sennheiser has made good, but I now have Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3, and again they have gone bad, and they are out of warranty. At their price level, I need ones that will last. Can't afford to buy every couple of years. Their sound quality is outstanding along with excellent customer service.
