Mine has been a Jam-O-Matic even though I’ve only shot 230g FMJ and is back at Springfield for warranty work. By contrast, my Tisas run just fine, especially the Raider.
what's different from the old , the color of the grips , and going backwards to the old barrel bushing. The whole draw was the bull barrel hand fitted to the slide.
You mean front strap checkering. It has front serrations on the slide. I tried skateboard tape, but I found Talon grip tape is more comfortable and not as abrasive. You can always buy a Smith and Alexander mag well funnel.
I said the same thing, but the smooth front is actually what I prefer now. That or the pachmyer wraparound grip like on the marine corps operator. Checkered is nice like on the early mc operators, but it's definitely comfy without. I don't like the trp type checking, it can wear your hands out.
Another SA 1911 my local gun shop won’t be able to get. I’ve been waiting on a 10mm Ronin for almost a year ($1300 on Gunbroker last week). Maybe work on availability guys.
We EALLY DO need to think hard about what is truly important to US in a gun. The new Operator is so similar to he new Emissary which is "close to" the new TRP. Why would we pick the Operator over the Emissary? Or visa-versa....or go witw the updtated TRP--have a few more spending bucks?? Why would we REALLY be looking a thte Emissary? Because it comes with the blued slide? I LOVE blued guns and wished the updated TRP came with a blued finish...only comes in black and a CereKote "dog poop brown"....The Operator does it all and is an all steel gun....pric d more "fairly' for most...the Emissary IMHO is priced little high IMHO (could get the last version "TRP Oparator" for hte same or less money....)....I mean if you're ONLy taking the gun to the range....
Just wonder... what makes this operator different then the TRP which I have, exact same features listed in the review. (Thanks for the under 5 review, hate when people drag out reviews. lol)
TRP Operator has front strap checkering, adjustable sights, and says "tactical" all over it. Also, I wouldn't take anything on this channel as a review, more of a commercial. The Armory Life is part of Springfield.
I prefer the full rail TRP. This just looks like the same gun besides the full rail, and front strap checkering, no mag well, and the back strap checking is the MC Operator octo grip.
You’re good to go if you have a TRP aside from the ledge rear sight on this, or if you happen to prefer the GI guide rod as a standard feature (TRP can install that after market pretty easy) . A lot of Springers are discontinued it seems. This fits the bill between the Garrison and Trp for price point which is pretty smart I feel. TRP ~ 1500.00, Garrison ~700.00 so at a grand for a lightrail duty gun is a great option. The Emissary seems like the real odd ball out in the lineup almost as expensive as TRP some cool aesthetics, but features aren’t really enough to set it apart, especially having the polymer trigger.
