I have this, got it on Amazon, 60 bucks, includes stand for roof. Had it for a couple months, love it. HD is stunning, awesome stations. Grit tv, all westerns, Me tv, classics like Columbo, Mamas Family, Hogans Heros , NBC, CBS, Fox, check out Antenna Guide for your area on line. Remote turner is cool too. I added a booster even better quality and quantity. Even with big trees around me, i still get 80 channels. The Antenna Tv channel is my favorite. We just dropped cable for this.
The issue I have had with antennas similar to these is that they are too directional. Most modern TV's you have to scan all channels before you can watch them so when I tried an antenna like this I would get maybe 3 or 4 channels however all around my house are other channels but to get those I would have to turn the antenna and point at them and scan all channels again. You can't just input channels manually anymore or turn a tuning dial like back in the day. What I am saying is that these types of antennas have very little side lobe and back to front reception.
For what you pay for it may work ok but for me I live in Iowa and I have Corn and Bean fields here so the VHF channel's I will not receive here. I live about 70 miles from the towers and with a 15 foot long VHF/UHF antenna with a booster and the VHF channel's are hard to get at times. I hope the new 3.0 standard will fix that for me.
I am thinking of getting Sling TV with the Air TV 2 box. I would like to know if I hook up the antenna to the box will I be able to record my local channels that are coming over the air ??
Just don't drop it, it will break into pieces. If you're going to cut the cord and install an antenna, install a RCA or Channel Master. The curvature of the earth prevents 150 mile reception.
I realize it is an inexpensive antenna. But I question how long it will last mounted outdoors. Its a big turn off its mainly all plastic. I have a Mohu Sky 60 in my attic. It works good. Would be better on my roof but I have reservations of mounting my $120 Mohu antenna outside as its all plastic and well looks cheap as well.
I had a similar Antenna to the one that's in the video for 4 years outside it went through a bunch of blizzards 2 ice storms a lot of heavy winds up to 80 miles and somebody cutting the straps off the pole to watch it hit the ground and it still worked but I got a new one for Christmas 2018 from Walmart called an onn outdoor antenna the same style as the one in the video and it's been working great
You can mount it in your attic. As long your Roof is NOT Metal, you will be fine. Funny, it only cost $25.00 and my Other Antennas, like ClearStream 4Max - $149.00. This Cheapo works better and pick up a lot of channels and clearer too!
@@JodBronson I have not had cable service since the spring of 2014 and I do not miss it at all with the $$$$$ I have been saving I was able to get the things we needed for our place.
@It's all Good - Most Antennas you have to "rotate". For this one here, I point mine to my Favorite Towers, it does pick up most Towers without rotating.
It means you may have a bad cable or your power supplies not proper make sure that the power cord goes to the amplifier and everything other than that I can't tell you any more
I got one for $25.00... Funny it works better than ALL of the Antenna I've tried. Funny, it only cost $25.00 and my Other Antennas like ClearStream 4Max - $149.00. This Cheapo works better and pick up a lot of channels and clearer too!
There is a way to "Mod" this for "Power Failure", using 12V DC Battery. Here is the problem, if there is a Power Failure, you can't use your TV anyway :/
Depend where you are... But I got one and it's the BEST Antenna I have tried. Funny, it only cost $25.00 and my Other Antennas like ClearStream 4Max - $149.00. This Cheapo works better and pick up a lot of channels and clearer too!
Mabey it's your region where you live you can not just set it up willy-nilly and expect it to work like you imagined it would. It's not a miracle antenna it does work and you have to remeber you will not always get the same stations like some other people are receiving. It depends on what subchannels your local broadcast stations are broadcasting. It's not like cable where everyone in the same town or state have the same channels.
