After trying out many different home air purifiers on the market, we tested Molekule. It looked so radically different from the others.
It was compact, simple, and modern.

So.....you “reviewed” an air purifier without actually measuring how well it purifies the air. Well done. Truly well done. All you did was recite the marketing wank that Molekule themselves do. Way to be unbiased, man.

I bought a Molekule before even seeing this video and sent it back before the 60-day window closed. Molekule is absolute garbage! I have severe allergies/asthma and this did nothing. After watching a lot of non-sponsored videos that actually did the testing I sent this pile of garbage back. This is a 100% sponsored video with no actual scientific testing.

Keep in mind that I've only used it for a couple weeks, that being said, so far so good ru-vid.comUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM . Using it at 8 ft. by 8ft. deer blind that is insulated. I have to keep the door cracked for it to get enough air to burn, but that is very likely the wood I've used. Much better quality than I expected for the price. Now if I can just take it easy in the beginning it won't be 90 degrees in my blind. All in all it seems like a keeper.

@return2earthvideochannel

The secret to 'cleaning' the air effectively in an enclosed space is to ensure the total volume of air circulates through the purifier during each complete cycle. You also need to rent or buy a digital particle counter. This will produce evidence that the purifier is working - or not! The manufacturer should always provide independent test results on a video. This is a very simple before and after test in a space that represents a typical bedroom or living room. Then you dose the room with a variety of household dust particles - including dust-mites if you can catch them! Take counter readings before switching on the machine, then take readings after say 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours. Manufacturers won't publish this type of demonstration because they know the test will fail! Some conventional HEPA filters have a built-in particle counter but they are fairly basic and won't provide specific levels of each size of particle. Hope that helps.

Can't smell anything where as before, my room had a smell of smoke. May not work for all but I'm going to keep it. The only thing I'm not satisfied with is that it emits a smell, the PECO filter. Thank you for the review. I find it concerning the company is unable to provide the CADR or Clean Air Delivery Rate numbers. This rating system has been around since the 1980's and is the industry standard. I have emailed and called Molekule and received, what I would consider, a run-around. While I recognize the machine does it in a 'new and unique way', as mentioned by their service associate, at the end of the day- dust is dust. If I have three different vendor/machines in a dusty room and would like to know the amount of clean air distributed or filtered by each, the CADR system is the industry standard for an established baseline. Two of the three companies we are reviewing readily provide that data. Molekule does not and has been quite ambiguous when asked. The service person was extremely polite but claims the air 'just gets clean' using a new way. I'm sorry, dust is dust and one should be able to measure the performance of the machine output. If the machine kills or eliminates everything, the CADR numbers would be fantastic yet the company will not release the data. What's the story? I'm more of a buyer beware if someone is trying to hide something.
@return2earthvideochannel
@return2earthvideochannel 6 лет назад
Hello, we have tried to understand the technology for possible use in our clinics - and yes, the Molekule is different to conventional air purifiers. We suspect that the total amount of contaminated air in an enclosed room is not being completely circulated through the device as with say a HEPA type filter. To discover if the Molekule is effective enough for your needs, you should obtain one on a sale or return basis, and hire or purchase a digital particle counter that can measure very small dust particles in the air (conduct a before and after test). Some air purifiers have a built-in particle counter, although they are fairly basic.

I don't have an affiliate link to buy one. This is an honest review based on 8 months of usage. I changed the pre-filter once. It automatically came in the mail when mine was bad. The app lost connection to the device a few times and I had to restart it. This was about 2 months in between each. I assume it doesn't reconnect if my house loses internet. This can be controlled over the internet and locally. This is my 3rd device. This is hands down a more than noticeable difference by far than any other long term unit I have used. I notice with in a hour or so if someone shut it off. It has shut off on its own when the pre-filter was blocked. I have two pets and my sinus issues from be allergic were a big problem for so many years. This is real and I have already order more for the other two levels of my home.

A note based on commentary in the review: I don't believe the auto setting changes the speed of the fan due to air quality it senses since there's no evidence there is any air quality monitor in the device. Auto is always the same speed and doesn't even appear to change depending on what settings are chosen when setting up the device. The settings chosen (number of pets, age of home) don't even appear to affect the filter health in the app, and there doesn't appear to be a monitor for that either since you have to email the company when you reset your filters. This is my experience in having my Molekule for nearly a year and thought I'd share.

@MolekuleAir
@MolekuleAir 6 лет назад
Hello Duncan, Molekule can effectively clean a 600-square-foot room with a standard ceiling height of 8.5 feet. In a large room of about 600 square feet, the device can provide a full replacement of the air in the room in under an hour. In a smaller room of about 150 square feet (such as a bedroom), Molekule can replace the air in under 12 minutes. The unit was designed to be portable and can easily be carried and placed anywhere in your home. You may decide to have just one unit and move it from the common area during the day to your bedroom at night, or some customers prefer having more than one unit in the home for convenience.

How is this unit different from say a PCO or PHI cell? The UV is shining on a filter that looks like any filter.. Except they claim "nano coating" So is that just a way of coating the filter with something to create a PCO or PHI reaction? I like that it has HEPA as a pre-filter removing most particles. Then allow an increased surface area by using the round filter with nano coating allowing for possibly longer contact time with the UV light, hopefully increasing the effectiveness of the UV. Miele canister HEPA vacs allow zero particles through. This according to mold remediation experts in my area who did some work for me. I do not have one. I have a whole house vac which I love. but they claim they measured with a laser particle detector and Miele's impressed the heck out of them. for a point of reference, they used the same meter outside my house and got a particle count of 760. then in my return duct which was about 260, then at my supply which was about 40 (this is after they installed a new HVAC system with Aprilaire 5000 electrostatic filtration system). We are STILL EXPERIENCING MAJOR SYMPTOMS so FUCK YOU MOLD!!!! so pissed off. can hardly breathe through my nose, my sweet baby cakes of love is very tired and doing anything productive is a struggle - we do what we need to do but there's no bounce in our energy levels. very very very difficult to figure out situation here. loading up credit cards to resolve the problem by whatever means necessary. looking to get two of these and a plasma system that distributes killer particles throughout the house (Reme Halo). anything we can to kill this shit which is destroying our lives. I don't want to pay ten cents more per gallon for gas but I'll pay $800 in a heartbeat PER ROOM if I have to to get my fucking life back. I suspect lack of house wrap in a low lying area of georgia possibly causing mold growth in the walls. I could go on and on......this is a very tricky one. Usually I can diagnose the problem quickly (I'm a master combination home inspector with 22 years experience IRC certified blah blah blah). house was contaminated originally by a Goodman condensing furnace with leaky gaskets allowing warm furnace condensate to drain back through the furnace (completely moronic design - older versions had the condensate drain on the OUTSIDE of the unit). so the insulation on the inside of the blower compartment (another completely idiotic thing - gee, let's put a shag rug in the blower compartment! that should never cause a problem! duh......) - insulation should be on the OUTSIDE of the blower compartment. anyway, if you need a vac, get a central vac as it shoots the small stuff outside the house. I love my vacuflow - my particular unit is filterless but not sure they make those anymore because once or twice a year you gotta clean the internal grill which is a pain but I'd rather that and shoot the small shit outside then it getting caught in filters - to each his/her own

I think I have tried every vacuum out there. Buy a Miele. I've had my canister for over a decade and will never have another brand - if this one ever dies, that is. It has been through EVERYTHING. It sucks up whole socks and keeps trucking. I've only had in the shop once - to remove a marker that got stuck in the wand handle. $30. Best vacuum ever and certainly better than a Dyson.

How do I start the molekule without the app. Or any off my devices?
@carolynolsen132
@carolynolsen132 5 лет назад
Good question, I had the same one. Not everyone has a phone, or can afford it, or lives where a service signal is near. I do have an iphone, but I don't like the idea of needing my phone, to program another device. Most appliances no longer come with its own printed manual. I don't need to open my fridge to use my toaster, and I don't have to start my car to use the microwave.

I am really interested to get one, but I am hesitating between the Molekule and the Airdog x5. From what they claim, Airdog x5 is more effective, you don't have to change the filter but only wash it, and the machine cost less. Unfortunately I can not find any documentation that can confirm those claims nor any proper review. I even contacted the maker of Airdog x5 and their North America partner, but they haven't replied to my answers. Do you believe you could make a review of Airdog x5?
@frankwhite2959
@frankwhite2959 6 лет назад
Airdog produces Ozone and you can’t even get an airdog shipped to California because it’s illegal to sell products that produce ozone. I have the Molekule and a Oransi Ej and I prefer the Oransi a million times more. The Molekule is not good at filtering smells and I find a lot of the things they did deceptive. The app shows when your filter is getting bad, but it has nothing to do with your filter. It’s basically a timer. You think you have this intelligent machine monitoring your filter and it’s complete bull. I can name a few more if anyone is interested.
@Lingotomist

Will this filter asbestos and lead construction dust? We just moved in 1930s house that had extensive renovations. Compare to IQAIR $900 unit?
@ApplianceBuyersGuide
@ApplianceBuyersGuide 6 лет назад
For that kind of dust, I would think the IQAir will do slightly better job. It has more filter levels. But you would also need to change the filters frequently and that could get expensive.
@irenechin4854

@irenechin4854
@irenechin4854 6 лет назад
asbestos dust isn't supposed to be disturbed into the air as breathing that in can cause problems....
@freddyphredphred
@freddyphredphred 6 лет назад
@irene Chin The crazy part is how often do you know that the Handyman or Painter who came to your house and did small repair doesn't have asbestos from a Prior job on his clothes, tools, sanders, VACUUMS etc. Often Handymen just use the same mops, same pants, same VACUUMS that spew asbestos from prior jobs onto your job. Also theres almost 100% chance that there WILL be some reminants of asbestos in some crack, crevis or in the CRAWL SPACE, or within the tiny walls of your house. That will be DISTRUBED in futurelittle jobs. ie if a cut out behind a cabinet had asbestos particles from a job 70 years ago from when someone removed asbestos tiles. 100% of your house can't be remediated so youre wrong in assuming that a remediation will getrid of 100% of asbestos Iriene
@MolekuleAir
@MolekuleAir 6 лет назад
Hello, While our system is different and works on the principle that it is better to break down pollutants safely rather than just capture them, asbestos is unfortunately not prone to oxidation. Although we have not directly tested it, as an inorganic mineral that is highly stable, it is unlikely that our Photoelectrochemical Oxidation (PECO) technology will have much of an effect on respiratory particles of asbestos. While our dual filtration system would capture some asbestos particles, it would be more cost-effective for you to stick with a ULPA system. ULPA as an air filter rather than an air purifier (no purification technology that we aware of can actually break down asbestos) should be less expensive to purchase and maintain. No air purification system can address lead. The California Department of Public Health recommends that you consider lead testing if you have children in your home and: 1) your house was built before 1978, or 2) your house is near a freeway or roadway where leaded gasoline and its exhaust could have polluted the soil. The EPA has established specific criteria for lead test kits; an EPA-recognized lead test kit, when used by a professional with the right training, can reliably determine if lead-based paint is not present in the home.

You missed the biggest points. This air purifier does not work well against PM2.5, and it does not work well against VOCs. In other words, it performs poorly against the two greatest concerns regarding indoor air quality, and it costs as much as the best air purifiers on the market. But it is pretty.

The fact that you have a promo code for us makes me question the legitimacy of this review. If your getting a kick back off of these sales, or being paid to show this video, your review is worthless to me because your most likely not going to give an honest review. Case in point, you only talked about what you liked, you never said one negative thing about the device.
@ApplianceBuyersGuide
@ApplianceBuyersGuide 5 лет назад
I'm sorry to hear my review is worthless and you don't think I give an honest review. At the bottom of our videos is a disclaimer clearly explaining our use of affiliate links. This is not something we hide. Companies DO NOT pay us to review their products. Ever. Virtually all review channels use affiliate links. If you are not going to read or watch a review that uses affiliate links you will have a hard time finding a review that doesn't. I did not tout many negatives about the Molekule because as far as my experience goes, there isn't much bad to say. A lot of people have called out the price on the comments here, and that is certainly a legitimate concern for some. But for me, the ease of use, setup, and technology justifies the price. We are still using ours and I bought a second unit for my kids bedroom. The product not only works, but unlike virtually every other air purifier on the market, it LOOKS great in the home.

@@ApplianceBuyersGuide you apparently haven't visited there website and checked the recent reviews then, just sayin! Even with software updates, some folks are still having major issues. For the price of these things, the thing should be flawless! You can get 2 or 3 top of the line air systems for the same price as one of these things. People complain that after several months of use, the fans get louder making the silent mode well, less silent. These are the things people want to know!
