Hi Shervin, thank you for this video, the thumbnail did not do it justice as to how great the video is. Wish you had smoke in the background of your thumbnail. I love how scientific this video was, your whole set up and how you were calculating your findings. This video is topnotch and really surprised me. I can't wait for more like this!
They’re are great at filtering and the cheapest option, but they are LOUD. I built one, used it for a week, then turned it off. Couldn’t watch tv with it running
@@imstephencarr those box fans using just HEPA filters will help with dust, but it won't help with smells or VOCs. You'll need at minimum, a charcoal liner. There are better technologies out there, but charcoal is cheaper. However, in order to be effective, you need to replace them often, which the majority of users do not.
The key is not just filtering gases or solids but the ability to filter viruses. Curious what the smallest particles that can be filtered by each machine. The fact a filter can filter out particulates but lets viruses through makes it less effective or mostly useless. Give me a filter that is able to remove viruses but slower any time. I would choose better filter over a filter that is fast but lets viruses through.
Buy a commercial Air Scrubber. You can install whatever filter you need, MERV 14, HEPA, Charcoal. The draw of the fan is vastly superior to anything marketed as a Purifier. They are not whisper quiet, and only need be run to clean the air in a room while your away, or at night on low speed.
viruses are a normal part of natural human life. I'd be far more worried about gases and particles - cars and coal mines are NOT a part of natural human life.
@@mbrochh82 Both are bad... preference of acceptance of one over the other is ridiculous. "Natural" does not define what is bad or good. Bad is defined by what make you sick or kills you - whether man made or natural. SMH
Appreciate the review but if you keep you machine on auto running all the time it does not matter how quick from zero it does it. The quiet aspect is a big plus. Ive owned low cost PURIFIERS, other Dyson and iQ aIR pLUS. I gotta say once running for a day or so the BP03/04 are really my favorite so far. Thanks again for the reviews
I personally have had the levoit which I sent back because it is not a true hepa filter which is a big miss on your part as a reviewer. Levoit removed true hepa advertising off the box and their website on certain models but yet at the time they were still using false advertising on Amazon about the 300 being true hepa. Next I bought the air doctor which did purify very well just as your review showed but compared to the Dyson you will spend a lot more on filter replacements and the app is trash. You hit a button on the app and it just loads and loads before you can change a setting. The design on the 3500i which I had is dated also and my wife didn’t like it. So therefore I sent it back as well. Then I bought the exact same Dyson you just reviewed and have been very impressed. My first critique of your review is you didn’t show the sound of the Dyson on low or auto. This thing is stupid quiet. Even my wife had to ask me if it was on. Another thing you didn’t mention is that the Dyson is the only machine that projects the filtered air across the room which allows the air to be filtered more effectively. The others just shoot is straight up into the air above the machine. You can also change the degree angle of the air just in case you don’t want it blowing right on you. The Dyson also specifically monitors formaldehyde and destroys it as it’s filtered. And it doesn’t really matter how fast it clears the air when you leave it running all the time anyways. The difference between the machines was negligible. And finally you didn’t mention that the Dyson app is really good and you can use voice assistants and the filter change for the hepa is every 5 years and the carbon filter is every 2 years. And you did the test on the Dyson wrong because they clearly say that the Dyson needs to be at least 3.5 ft from the wall. You need a bigger tent. Also as an added note you should have included the breath smart by Alen Air. I hear that is also an excellent system. Hope this helps!
Levoit does not want to pay the extra money for HEPA certification, but every review and test Ive seen run on the thing says that it exceeds the standard.
Commercial air scrubbers are superior to all of these and the MERV, HEPA and charcoal filters are much cheaper. Air scrubbers are used in construction and mold remediation; basically a plastic box with a high power fan, 3 filters and maybe UV light. There's one major brand, but of course the Chinese copies are 1/3 the cost ($279) They have adjustable speeds and are not as cool-looking but for allergy sufferers are a game changer.
@@mattp4079 what brands do you recommend then? I’m looking at the AirDoctor 5500 and The Jaspr, leaning more toward the AirDoctor cause of the 3 filters and I have dogs
@@Awareness_With_Dennis Vevor 800 CFM. The UV light is optional, and not necessary. $236. Variable speed, comes with 3 filters which are standard size and available at any home improvement store. The entire Air "Purifier" industry is something of a scam. Seems no one's done a controlled comparison of a $2300 air purifier vs. a commercial air scrubber. I place mine in a closed bedroom while Im at work, along with a Vornado Fan to circulate whatever dust and dander is in the wood floor or crevices.
You should have tested levoit 300s, not the regular 300. It has almost the same premium characteristic like 500$+ ones and on the night is super super quiet.
Bro says air doctor is cheesy while he’s in that outfit 🤣 Seriously though, most CADR numbers are at max setting, noise level is at lowest setting, and room size is usually over estimated. They all do their best to make themselves look better than they are. Buy an over sized unit, because nobody runs them at the highest setting
should have watched this before hand... I bought this one AMEIFU Air purifiers Large Room Up to 2200 Sq Ft, H13 Hepa Double-Sided Air Filter Purifier with PM 2.5 Display Air Quality Sensor. it makes the entire room smell like burning plastic. 7 hrs later turned it off , boxed it up , send it back. somehow the sensor doesnt acknowledge the burning plastic smell. reviews are shut down by the big A site.
ok... i have a question.... I doubt you'd do this. For the price difference, I want to know if 3-4 levoit will perform as well as say the $400 AirDoctor. Is it just a size and power comparison? As in is the filtration all the same? I can by several levoit for a fraction of the cost of the higher performing unit. I could put several in the house filtering and circulating more air.
Thank you for your Information. But One important fact was that were Testt thise Air purifiers outside... which it REALLY DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.... hopefully you already know by your Academic Education and knowledge THAT what you are trying to Inform to Us all Viewers....it will give Us a Practical and Reasonable perspective when trying to decide in Buying one of All those Unscrupulous and NOT BELIEVABLE expensive or cheaper worthless Necessary Air purifier for our already Intentionally and Maliciously FDA & WHO & WEF undercover ongoing Genocidal Masterminds Manipulators MOST POWERFUL PROFITABLE undercover Entities 🆘‼️✡️
I would like to introduce a new product to you. It is an air purifier. It has no filter elements and no competition. I wonder if you'd be interested? If you are interested, I can send you the information.
Dude! What's the point of the video if you guys didn't measure ug/m3 Micrograms per cubic meter. That's actually the scale everybody uses for everyday Air quality measurement.
@Awareness_With_Dennis once I found out it was discontinued, I managed to snag a few more hepa filters before they disappeared.. I'm on my last one, I will probably try cleaning it 🤣
