Girllll this blue of Stockholm sweater looks so beautiful at you! Of course it's always a personal choice what to wear or what colors we're gonna choose for another knit piece, but I believe that sometimes if we could look at ourselves from the point of how other people are seeing us, we'd become much less self-critical in a lot of things

The blue Stockholm is beautiful and looks great on you. Would leave it as a unique addition to your wardrobe colors:)

Overdying 100% wool is really easy and a good way to give a second life to a sweater you spent a long time knitting by hand. I'd advise you to try on a sweater/scarf/hat you don't particularly mind messing up, so that you get familiar with the process and handling, and the fear will go away. Acid dye, vinegar, a big pot reserved for dying, is all you need, and rinsing your just dyed item into the delicate/wool wash setting in the washing machine is the quickest and least water demanding way to do it.

Yes! Also keep stirring it every few minutes. It will make sure that there are no wrinkles. I’ve dyed a lot of my woolly and cotton clothes when my taste in color changed.

It’s so funny that you say it doesn’t get cold enough in Toronto to wear some heavy sweaters! I froze every winter in Toronto and would LAYER warm sweaters. I even slept in my sweaters. Lol. Great video- I may have to do one the same!

That was a wonderful podcast to follow. Thanks for explaining everything so detailed, the form, the yarn…, everything so so valuable!💕 I learned soooo much, even if my feelings may vary from yours. Btw … I think I would have also chosen the patterns you choosed! I love those and I love the designers. Many many thanks! I hope you will find solutions to wear all sweaters and cardigans more often even if they are bit itchy, too loose, not the right color or anything else. You look great in all of them…, almost🙈…, the white one with the thick wool and the nice pattern in front is the only one I am not sure if I would knit it ;)….🤫

Great episode! That blue sweater is gorgeous, and looks great on you. But, you’re right about wearing what makes you feel good. I’ve been trying to convince myself to try mohair (and alpaca) again, but you’ve reminded me that I just can’t tolerate the itch. Just really wanting to find a way to use up some beautiful yarn - your suggestions are great.

Hi, same here! I’ve been knitting garments since 2017 and I review all of my knits every year. And I feel like I keep learning or understanding new things about my knitting every time. It’s so useful to make a list of such things as fit or yarn choices or style and to slowly evolve your own style personality. Thanks for making this helpful video!

I have an Idea for you if you want to get more wear out of the green tshirt😊 you could take off the sleeves and with the yarn you get from that add just a bit of (twisted) ribbing to get a vest instead to wear over blouses or long-sleeved shirts that are a bit tighter than blouses? this way it kind of belongs into a different category, is not "made" to be worn directly on skin and maybe you can get more wear out of it😊 but the sleeves are lovely as well.. just easier than taking out the mohair I thought😅

Hi Emily, thanks for an excellent review of your garments. I loved hearing your feedback and appreciate your honest experience with both yarn & pattern. I think you need to remake the Monica Geller sweater. It's very flattering and you should have a version that doesn't bother your skin. You've helped me add to my favorites and now some new yarns to explore. Thanks again.

It really is lovely! I may try to poppy tee instead for a more seamless construction but a similar look overall.

Wow I love the travelers cardigan with it’s beautiful mottled colors!! Been scared to try Noro because of it’s crazy colors but that colorway is lovely. Love how it’s not really variegated but has lots of colors somehow.

I have the hot climate too and I struggle knitting appropriate things because I love rustic cozy knits. I get my fix by knitting the wooly wool into shawls and always use fingering weight wool in a super non itchy wool for my sweaters. :-)

I love your Stockholm sweater on you. The blue is gorgeous and it fits you so well. Honestly I don’t understand why so many want these super oversized baggy sweaters. Mine are all too baggy and now I am losing weight and they will be even baggier! Yikes. They’re fine for around the house or on a subzero day but I need to start making my sweaters much smaller. Actually I think I need to down size to a medium. With your sleeves shrinking up I would think it would be very easy to lengthen them with wetting. Twice now I have had sleeves get too long because I pulled it out of the sink incorrectly. I’m kicking myself for that! I must say that your knits are so beautiful. The stitch definition is just gorgeous.

I love this episode. It is very helpful to hear another knitter perspective and review of their finished objects. Greatly appreciated. All the sweaters look lovely on you. It is funny to hear that a sweater is too warm to be practical, I live in Alberta, enjoy winter activities, however I don’t tend to wear very warm sweaters. My home is heated and warm during the cold months and when I am outside I am moving and I don’t need a super heavy wool sweater, or I am wearing sports related clothing. I love my warm wool accessories for the winter, but for the sweaters fingering or dk weight is the most practical. Cheers

Exactly my experience too! There is MAYBE 1-2 days a year I’m out in weather that would warrant something super warm…it’s not common for heavy knitwear to be worn as outerwear for activities as in some other places.

I loved the color of the iris heather palette in your Louvre sweater! I liked it so much that I plan on using it (held with a strand of Drops 100% Alpaca) for my next pullover. I am going to make Sweater No. 25 by My Favourite Things Knitwear. Thank you for all the inspiration and insight that you provide. I appreciate all that you do; you are an asset to the knitting community. :)

I think that over dyeing some of the sweaters you dont really like the color so much and maybe wearing that T with a t shirt underneath in the fall might give you a little more wear out of them. They are so pretty it might be worth a try 💖

Questions - how do you find new patterns that are coming out? And when you knit with two yarns held together, how do you decide what yarns to use if you're using something other than the pattern calls for?

Loved this video! I keep seeing all of these beautiful sweaters knit with wool and mohair, but I know I won’t wear the finished garment. They will be both too hot and too itchy. I’m on a mission to find a lighter weight yarn combination for many of these wonderful patterns. If you find them, please share!

One more question love your louvre sweater in the palette yarn by knit picks but pattern says it is done in DK but the knit picks yarn you used I think says fingering unless I got it wrong. How did you get gauge?

Thanks for this! I am a new knitter and I haven’t made a sweater for myself as of yet. Your thoughts on yarn choices regarding warmth are so appreciated. I run pretty hot, live in the South of the US and also happen to be a breast feeding mom (breast feeding makes you so hot 🥵) So although I’ve been gravitating towards a wool and mohair combo, I’m now passing on it as I think it would be way too warm for me. Thanks again!
