Yes. On my diesel JL I am running 4.5 coils in the front and 3.5 in the back. Works great
@vdub5818
@vdub5818 3 года назад
So with the 4.5" spring in the front you are getting 3.5" effective lift?
@jjtjjt3442
@jjtjjt3442 3 года назад
@@vdub5818 yes it’s a perfect stance. We also switched the coils from left to right and swapped it because the weight is spread differently. Not all companies have a coil with left and right so it depends

Thanks so much for the wheel update! Wondered how the Teraflex rims would hold up in serious rock crawling.

Great show with awesome tips. Nice looking Rubi. Mine's green without big boots until the 33" BFG/AT's treads are a little closer to the wear bars. The old lady will flip otherwise. lol I already bought a 12,000 lbs. Warn with a steel cable & it also came with a wired/wireless winch control from CanTire for $750.00 cad. If I didn't read a description of a different winch that was also on sale I would have probably missed the sale. Warn winches come with a life time warranty or is it Warn ty. lol They're a bit expensive but hold their resale value better than the rest of them.

Very cool video Casey! Thanks for the summary of your mods. I love the Teraflex lift but I wonder why they don’t offer stiffer 3.5” springs for the diesel. I would feel uncomfortable spending more money in the aftermath and putting on the 4.5” lift springs with compression to get 3.5” lift on the heavier Ecodiesel. However, I would rather do that than keeping the spacer to get 3.5” lift. I am tempted to get new springs from another reputable lift company once they release the correct springs for the Ecodiesel and use them with the rest of the Teraflex kit. Teraflex needs to do better!
@Casey250
@Casey250 3 года назад
It is a bit frustrating. I did order a gas model lift before knowing what was needed. Having properly rated springs for the weight will ride nice then having overloaded springs with a spacer.

About your rear hatch opening easier, have you considered a strap in the recess that it slides into. Kinda like the old rc cars of the 90s with AA batteries. The ribbon/strap helps "pull" the batteries out with ease. Hope that makes a clear mental image lol. Good luck.

The zipperless top is a great selling point. My jk zippered top is a pain to unzip and will not zip back up when it’s just a little cool out. Love the rims and winch. I really like the air up system,but would need the compressor somewhere else,like under the hood maybe. The dashboard rail system is nice.do they make one for the jk? Take care of yourself and stay safe, Merry Christmas and happy new year. 🍻🎄

Thanks for the updates! Can you explain how you’re mounting the choetech to the 67 designs arm? Does the choetech come with a ball mount? From the Amazon link I can’t quit follow how it mounts to the 67 designs arm.
@Casey250
@Casey250 3 года назад
It uses a single T adapter that 67 designs has on their site that attaches to the ball mount.

Hi Casey thanks as always for your reviews. Some additional questions about the wheels - what is the lowest you have gone for psi? How low do you regularly go? No bead loss, burping, or spinning issues?
@Casey250
@Casey250 3 года назад
Usually 13psi with warm tires. No issues so far.

When I saw teraflex's sema, covid style, video on the diesel shocks I knew you were wanting those bad boys. Any chance you may go 3.5's though? The cost definitely gets a bit steep, but on the fly adjustments would be pretty amazing.

Glad you commented on the Nomads, as I was curious about how they have held up and whether you were still happy with the rapid deflators. What about tires? What size? Type, And how happy have you been with them?
@Casey250
@Casey250 3 года назад
Nitto trail grapplers. 37x12.5. Tires are very region specific I feel. What works in the cold and mud here might not be as good in a dry desert. I tend not to recommend tires but my trail grapplers have been good to me for the last year.

@Casey250, how simple is it to install auxiliary lighting into the front bumper. Definitely eyeing that bumper but if I can install auxiliary lights that would be a deal breaker for me. I know you can mount lights onto the fairlead mount, but is it possible to mount auxiliary lighting elsewhere? Could you do a video on this?
@vdub5818
@vdub5818 3 года назад
It would just be a bolt up job as far as physical mounting. If stock holes don't work for you just drill some more. The wiring side is easy peasy if you have the auxiliary switches. Just run the ground to frame, or any sufficient ground, and connect your hot to the desired wire in the bundle in the engine bay by the battery. They are labeled well. Switch 1 and 2 are for higher amp draws, 40A each I believe. 3 and 4 are 15A each.

Great long term use review Casey! I'm wondering about the weight of it. My diesel rubicon has a payload of only 800lbs and I'm sure yours is in the same vicinity. You must be getting close to max weight with all the mods you have on it and probably over when you add the roof rack and RTT. Have you noticed the weight? Any concerns? I'm sure the diesel can handle the weight just fine so I'm thinking the weakest link would be the brakes. Any plans on brake upgrades? Thanks! Love the channel. Oh, any plans on upgrading rock sliders? (Edit after looking closer at your JLU those are aftermarket sliders, eh?)
@Casey250
@Casey250 3 года назад
My rig doesnt even know it has extra weight. It hauls. Rubicons gave duel piston front brakes and rhey have been great so far. The sliders are rubicon sliders but id like some step sliders for the girls to have an easier time getting in and out.
