Thanks! You’ve convinced me to stay with my outdoor research echo. I like that it’s so lightweight. Also, I’ve never understood the benefit of vertical zippered pockets. Anytime I put something in a pocket like that it tends to fall out.
You’re welcome! I’m with you - love my Echo hoodie! This one is super fun but not as practical as I’d like. I’ve never had a pocket like this before but it confused me a bit haha
@@AudreyAdventures I don't have it. I'm actually really happy with the Echo Hoodie. Its durability for how light it is has gone way beyond my expectations and I think it has enough sun protection for Colorado. My philosophy on sun protection is that I should have enough to not get burnt but not so much I don't tan. A sun hoodie with a trucker hat seems all the rage but doesn't do it for my face. I swallow my pride and go for the goofy looking Sunday Afternoons Adventure Hat because it really works like nothing else I've tried.
@@drytool Ah gotcha yeah I’m the same but potentially have a bunch of desert hiking next year so am weighing if the echo is enough. I’ll probably just stick with that and a hat though. 😊
I own the classic mint green with orange plants. I agree with your opinions on this shirt. It's a great shirt but I'm always too hot, the gear doesn't dry well, and the thumb holes are set too far apart from the cuff size and feels off.
@AudreyAdventures I carried it about 3 weeks longer than I should have before I sent it back. If it was early or late in the yearbit would be great but of May to August, it seems off.
The shirt colors match your personality to the “T”. Looks good 😊 on you. I think I would agree the zip pockets would not serve much function while carrying a backpack with chest straps. I would think that what ever you had in the pockets would make intentions on the chest and front bust area of a woman. Happy trails Audrey!!
Interesting. I was looking at it before you said it was heavy. It kinda looks heavy. I love the colors though. I also have OR hoodie and love it. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
I wore my Jolly Gear hoodie for 3 weeks on the AT last fall, and while I love it (button down + hood!!) I can definitely see it being too heavy and non-breathable for an east coast summer. We'll see how it does in a drier environment on the PCT this year! I'm a skinny 5'9" and the size small is the sweet spot for me. I stashed my gloves in the zipper pockets a few times, and let's just say it looked... interesting 😂
