I felt like MGS5 adaptive difficulty could be kind of random. I only used gas like once and yet all the enemies gained gas masks for some reason.

MGSV was overall a bad game though so nothing surprising there. Having your development trashed by the publisher tends to do that.

That kinda reminds me of a visual novel in which main guy eventually becomes a mech pilot. The sad part is, the mech fighting arcade game that he and his friends are playing in the early part of the story looks, sounds and feels better then the later scenes with actual combat mechs the size of buildings. That has got to count as some very special kind of failure.

honestly one of my all time favourite video games. i still to this day enjoy going back to it from time to time. also i heard someone was remastering it so definitely looking forward to that.

Nightdive Studios bought the rights recently, so they actually may do a sequel someday.

@Armand Shukaev, Nightdive Studios seem to remaster games more than make new ones. Give Sin and Turok to the devs of Terminator Resistance. At least they'd be single player focused and not changed for the worse like most Western devs/publishers now.

And also not forgetting that the company started out with the Quake Scourge of Armagon expansion pack, which might be in my opinion the best FPS experience I ever had. Or at least top 3. @I'm Charming, Nightdive Studios "remastered" Sin recently, so it should be able to run now. If you already own Sin on Steam, it was a free upgrade. Sadly they didn't add achievements like Turok 1&2.

A remake of this in 2021 would gender-swap the hero and the villain, making John Blade the bad guy who dresses like a dom and is always hitting on the "strong female lead" Alexis (who don't need no man).

​@@LtJackStone Well, I gotta admit. I probably wrote that poorly. Because I didn't really mean it the way you said it, but it's basically how I wrote it so it's my own fault. Basically, I just thought this was a cool character and although I still think she has aspects that are quite rare, it's not like I don't think there are tons of other good female characters.

Dark Forces and Duke 3D were two that really pushed it, and later Sin, Half-Life 1 and Unreal. Though I honestly think the original Doom did a pretty good job at it too, better than many of its followers.

They don't make games like this anymore though. Even if someone picked it up, I can't see it being done justice.

I think NightDive Studios now owns the rights to Sin.

Nightdive Studios own the IP for Sin and was responsible for updating Sin Gold not too long ago now. They plan to do a port of Sin Gold to thier popular Kex Engine. As for Continuing the story I think the CEO of Nightdive has talked about it on Twitter.

@@GreatDevourer1 But why though? It runs fine in the original engine and none of its problems would be solved by switching. Of course, that's the only thing Night Dive seem capable of doing, it's not like they ever actually made any games.

@@todesziege Probably so they can make changes to the game much easier. Bug fixes, better mod support, etc. Nightdive are known for making very good remasters and ports. If you want examples you should look at System Shock Enhanced Edition, Turok and the offical Doom 64 Port. Nightdive might also release the Source Code for the game. They did that with System Shock 1 and are planning on doing it with System Shock 2. If you wanted an old game to be maintained and kept alive Nightdive are the best guys for the job. Like Gman said the game was pretty hard to run before the whole Sin Gold update not too long ago. Nightdive said that they updated something important to help it run on modern OS's. Remastering, Porting and keeping old games alive is what the company was founded on. As for the Nightdive making a game on thier own, they are currently working on the System Shock Remake and it is looking really good. They held a Development stream a couple of days ago and it is looking amazing.
