@@ianwhipple8842 I will always stand by the fact that the 2008 Red Wings were by far the best post-lockout champion, the numbers back it up. Since the 1979 WHA merger, only one team has won the Cup, never trailed in a playoff series, never faced elimination, and never relinquished first place in the league standings after the end of November. That team was in fact the 2007-08 Detroit Red Wings. Yes, the two most recent Bolts teams have lots of talent and Mr. Yzerman built them without a doubt. But I do think the fact that the pandemic impacted both of those championships make them not quite as impressive. In the 2020 playoffs in the bubble, there was no momentum to carry over from the regular season, meaning one of the top teams on paper was most likely to win. And in their most recent championship, playing a shorter season is not quite as impressive either. I am not taking away anything from the Lightning, but I do think this repeat is not as impressive because they did not have as much of a fatigue factor as other teams, which definitely helps. When the Wings won back-to-back in 1997 and 1998, they played 164 regular season games plus 42 playoff games over the two seasons, totaling 206 games. During the Lightning's repeat, they played 70 regular season games in 2019-20 and 56 last season, plus a combined 45 playoff games. That is 38 less games then usual, essentially a half season less of games. Again, winning back-to-back is impressive, but when you are more fresh, it is not quite as impressive.

1995 Devils would've beaten the 2012 Kings - close series for sure, but Jersey that year was absolutely surgical. Fun Fact: 1995 Devils and 2012 Kings are the ONLY teams to win the Cup despite being the underdog (starting on the road) for every series; and both had 16-4 records.
