Revisiting the Place Where RFK Was Assassinated 50 Years Ago 

RFK would appreciate this living center of learning dedicated to him.

Got to visit the Ambassador Hotel back in 1979. The firm I worked back then had our x-mas party there. The hotel back then was pretty much intact, the way it looked back in 1968. Over the years I also visited other L.A. sites involving RFK, including Good Samaritan Hospital, the former site of Central Receiving Hospital (were RFK was taken directly after he was shot) one block away from Good Samaritan, and Lucas Ave at Wilshire Blvd. (where the hearst carrying RFK) drove out of the south side of Good Samaritan on it's way to LAX (every time I walk across that intersection there I think of him). L.A. is filled with history.

They should of named the library after Robert Kennedy

I like that they dedicated it to him but its not really the same site.

So bizarre. I’d find it impossible to study in that ‘Research Room’, knowing someone was murdered there.

When I was 5 years old I was living in the Parkchester section of the Bronx, NY and Kennedy was there for some reason. He (according to my mother) was signing autographs around a bunch of people. I sort of remember the pen dropping and when he bent down, we bumped heads pretty hard. He then patted me on the head and said something. I remember bits of it, but I remember the banging of the heads and him looking at me patting my head.

It’s not the same building. They tore down the building due to the hotel not being able to run. Tho glad there is a new structure in is place giving it more life to the land and being a library.

56 years ago today RFK was assassinated. I remember it like it was yesterday. It is still very sad that we lost so many to murder.

How the hell does a hotel turn into a school?? If the hotel has been demolished then how the hell can this be where he gave his victory speech??? u say where ur standing is the ballroom,??? How can that be if u say the hotel's been destroyed??? This isn't the ambassador hotel🤔

How silly to tear down history and replace it with cheap architecture. A real shame..

It isnt the embasedor hotel. It was torn down. Intead reains two statues, one of rkf and the other of mlk jr.
