What about ceiling quantity take-off? Is it countable volume?
@FirasNoori

Never tried that before :)

Thanks for the video Mr. Firas! Which method is better in terms of ceiling schedule/quantities? Is there any difference if we want to create a bill of quantities for ceilings?

Welcome dear, do you have a small example like a room or something, that I can make a video to explain it for you

Sorry but I don't have any Revit file which includes ceilings. I would be very glad if you could explain it in here. Thank you!

open Revit then go to the "Manage" Tab then "Setting" panel then select "Purge Unused", use this command to get rid of all unused families, but I highly do not advise you to purge, as this will delete all embedded required families that you 100% in need

@@FirasNoori Merci for replying so quickly. But if you advise me to not purge. What is the use of purge so ? Teri Merci

Purge if you 100% finished the project in Revit , no changes, coz it will delete every family member loaded in the template and you did not used, it might sound good as it slightly reduce the file size and increase ur machine speed, but later if you want to use this file as a startup file of to add things to it or to complete the job, you need to reload things manually. If you are purging to increase speed, you can use other techniques like smart family modeling, and not to use in corrected imported furniture from the internet, a chair modeled in max and loaded into revit family repeated in revit for 5 or 6 times is really enough to damage the ram and slow down ur file forever, extra unrequited modeling or details might do the same! Autocad purge is might be justified, unseen blocks, wrong layers and unused!! But in revit there are no layers and most of the added families will be used, Thus you can purge in Revit, but do it as a last step after you finish work not as a method to enhance file performance if you got my point Cheers

@@FirasNoori Please, i would like to ask for your expertise. I had an issu before and, still cant fix this headache... When i export a chandelier or a pendant light to the projet it stays or hang on a vertical view, i cant change it to an horizontal view. I tried different things but still this issue persist. Would you have any advise to give me ? It has to do with its view & parameter i am guessing, an horizontal or vertical check mark maybe ? Thank you. Teri

@@teriperson363 Hi dear Teri, long time since your last post, I wish you are doing well dear, Lots of reasons behind this, basically lets try to open the ceiling floor plan not the Ground Floor Plan as in the ceiling one you are looking upward to the roof or ceiling direction allowing you to attach ur element to it (if you are in normal floor plan, it will be above the view and you will not be able to see in plan!! and you get a warning message teling you to view it in section or elevation) Second, check is it a ceiling based family (and thus you must have ceiling in ur room to be allowed to add it) or Is it a roof based family where it can be attached to the lower part of the a slab or floor. Third, it could be the family need to select to be placed on any element and then you need to press on an option that allows u to place it on any surface to free it from the origin that it was designed to stick to it Sorry for my late replay, I was a bit busy with my sick son, Cheers
