Thank you so much for your video. I can't help but ask, isn't there a way to put those bars in like 3d and then they show up in the sections? the method you are using how is it any different from AutoCAD detailing? Am i missing something, just genuinely curious. Thanks in advance. (Yes, I am new to this)
Yes there are ways to do it that way too. However for country’s where the steel reinforcement is scheduled by others it is rarer to see consulting engineers doing 3D modelling as it does take quite a bit more time.
@@TheArtofTechnicalDrawing thank you for your response. So if that’s the case, for instance what happens when the section changes, example, the section which you’ve taken, the wall was changed to 200 concrete wall. What happens then? Does the lines stay the way they are or does it change dynamically? This is also in cases where the slab sections have changed and the reo lines stay the same or not?
@@vigneshmenon2796 Both 2D and 3D workflows will require touch ups on the sections. Big changes in 3D often break the sections for 3D modelled elements including reinforcement. Steel framing is probably worse. 2D elements can also work dynamically. So it is just something you have to balance. What are the risk/rewards. We are all businesses first so we have to balance what workflow will be acceptable. Nobody wants to hear, "I can't get the drawings out, we have a technical issue" and the other side saying "it is just a couple of lines, why does it take hours to do it!"
@@TheArtofTechnicalDrawing thank you so much mate! You’ve no idea how much you’ve helped me. Your videos are really good and this is something which I believe I can fairly easily incorporate into my own workflow.
DINCEL is being used more and more for retaining walls. So it could be possible. However I personally hate how the plastic form looks in a couple of years. It just looks like a DOGS BREAKFAST.
That is a question which relates to what is the industry standard in your region. For some consulting engineers only do the design. Schedules and shop drawings are done by others in the next phase of the project.
@@allanyz i have the answer, if we use reference lines, we can detailing holes, bolts, plates and steel profiles, we can send to print thats dettails in PDF and it does not appear reference lines on sheets or impressions, in that way we can detail any shape of plate, etc.
