Yeah, more bikes. Especially custom bikes, and more rare/hard-to-find/oddball stuff. I've had my fingers crossed for Leno turning up with a Crocker, for years. It'd be perfect for his collection, with all the Vincent's and Brough Superiors and Velocettes

The design of this bike is beautiful. To me, what makes it amazing is that its design can be placed into the 20's, 30's, 50's, 60's, up until the present and still work. That is not an easy feat to accomplish. Adding to the fact that it is more than just rideable, that it performs adds even more to the power of its design. Form and function well balanced.

Don’t gitme wrong. I love Ducati’s. 916 il Monstere being my all time favorite-the bike that made me drive by the Ducati dealership a couple nights a week, even tho it wasn’t on the way home. But thisun doesn’t do a thing for me. Stainless steel under load, such as standing rigging on a sailboat has about a 10-year service life. It doesn’t give you much warning before it fails. For this reason I would choose cro-moly steel. Sounds right, tho. Thanks for yet another great JLG! 👍👍👍👍👍

I think he was referring to the super long ridiculously stretched ones. Maybe ok for highway driving but jay lives where theres lots of city riding and windy hills. Same way here in WV. Lots of hills and windy 2-lane roads. Choppers are not the best in that respect.

That bike is gorgeous and will a significant piece of art in the cycle world for the foreseeable future. It even looks better at speed as the spokes disappear. Hats off to Ed and Revival for pushing Engineering and fabrication to the limits. ps- The Modulus for stainless is quite high so it will not see any fatigue issues. Great question though by Jay

Good art is polarizing, so here I go 😁 I hate when tubes are made out of welded together "calamari" sections. It's a styling touch that too closely resembles incompetence with a tubing bender. It's like me plumbing your entire house with nothing but pipe fittings -- no pipe -- installed outside of your walls for your viewing pleasure.

@@rcpmac It's been said, "there's no accounting for taste" I respect all the effort that went into just that one part. It must have been a huge time sink, and when you look at the rest of the bike, to let the exhaust just be plain _pipes_ would be negligence. I tend to have a pendulous ambivalence as to where the beauty lies in a machine -- form is always fighting function in my mind.
@CalvinHikes

With everything else being so clean it does... Feel like a separate design. Obviously that's intentional to create the contrast but contrast but... While I would like a smoother pipe, I don't have a 1/2 a million dollars to disagree.
@christopherbrown6697
@christopherbrown6697 2 года назад
The pipes look very much like custom expansion chambers on tuned two-strokes. That segmenting technique makes sense when the diameter changes substantially, but it's an odd choice for a four stroke. I don't hate them, but they're my least favorite part of the bike.

Simply as a piece of art, I understand, not to my taste, but that’s o.k, beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. As a practical riding bike, it makes very little sense to me, apart from riding it around the corner to your local cafe, uncomfortable seat etc. Though I am most concerned about the stainless frame, high usage would have me constantly scanning for cracks.
