Reviving my Commodore PET 

Some random kid that just lost their pet is gonna be so confused with this video.

What nice machines those PETS are! My keyboard was fairly non-responsive on my 8032 model. I used a piece of copy paper to vigorously clean each rubber contact. It acts like a very mild abrasive and cleaned off 40 years of accumulated grease and such from the contacts. This same method has so far saved an Amiga 1200 KB, a VIC-20 keyboard and my PET keyboard.

With a bit of luck and very careful drilling you can manage to solder the broken pin back on the neck.

So what was wrong with the original PET mainboard? Using a modern replacement is nice and all, but sure would be leuk to see the original mainboard revived...

Tweakers here in NJ USA are something entirely different :D
