Hey Chaozz I am not sure but a few years ago, I got Snes pal edition from you. I mod it by swapping boards to make playable in the US worked and I am still enjoying it. with my kid.

I searched on ebay & they aint cheap anymore... ppl are really puting these up for 50+ dollars on ebay.. the only other cheap 15-20$ one i found was a copy of the supercard sd without any label. There was another that said it works by passing games directly to the cart via usb with its own adapter but it only works on windows 7 or older & can only fit 2 maybe about 4 games in total depending on game size & it only stirctly works for gba games, no support for emulating nes or gbc or nothing of that sort, just gba.💀

@@RetroGameCouch - That sounds interesting. One wonders if it's just as easy to fix, say, a Commodore 64. That one would have equally old components. Perhaps a subject for another info-tainment video? ;-)

Thanks for taking us along with this journey! The echoing with the question mark is quite hilarious Thanks for showing us these basic commands. Very interesting to know a little bit about the operation of cpm I'd like to play ladder & pacman. Would it be possible to construct a joystick based on a keyboard connector?
@RetroGameCouch
@RetroGameCouch День назад
Thank you! As an MS-DOS person the experience of CP/M was very enjoyable. About the joystick; you would have to create something custom that plugs into the keyboard port and simulates the correct keypresses. That seems like a lot of effort for these simple games. But it's possible.

Great console., I know SABA (living in Germany and being half German and half Dutch it's hard to don't know the brand 🙂), but this console is new to me. Awesome to see it working again(*). I like to see you do some soldering and measuring. Gives the videos an extra touch. Keep going, please 🙂. * always crazy how the electric world was different back then. the idea to force a voltage with a single transistor down to the desired voltage and "burn" the left over energy into the heat sink is so far from who we do it today. I have an old Laserdisc player. The "standby" circuit does the same. It literally burns 7V away (huge heat sink under the transistor) to get 5V for standby. The heat sink warms up really quickly. I have my doubts someone should call it "standby" 🙂It's taking about 15 Watts in that state, just to keep the IR receiver active and the standby led on 🙂Anyway, I love these early days.

I'm surprised that you managed to solder the wires to the cartridge port! I tried that once but couldn't get reliable connections because the metal is somehow coated and refuses to connect to the solder and because you can't solder with higher temperatures because of the melting plastic. How did you do that?
@RetroGameCouch
@RetroGameCouch 23 дня назад
I had it set to 370 degrees celcius and it went OK. Press tinning was key.

I dont remember a Saba-console in Germany. I know some Audio Stuff from Saba. I've been born 79 and my first Console as a Child was the Atari 2600 straight out of Quelle Nürnberg. We were living 1 Hour Drive away and that was a Special day for all of us 3 when my Parents and i get on a Shopping Trip to the City (Nürnberg) . The Grandparents from one of my Friends own a Console to SLOT IN into a Grundig Television. There was a Muti use Slot with s Spring-hinged Door on the right lower side to 1. Put the Remote into (Just for the Tidy Idea) - OR you can also slot the Console into it, and it overrides the TV-Receiver and the TV only shows the Console.
@Hotpack7279

I googled it ant it was the Grundig Super Play Computer 4000 - also and maybe better known as Interton VC 4000

Don't bother buying the EZ Flash Parallel. It has already been abandoned by the developers and it has a serious bug where sleep mode is broken and you can't close the DS lid. The EZ Flash Parallel was hyped up by the big RU-vidrs and it has been quickly forgotten ever since.
@AnotherViewBot

Genuine question how do you know it's abandoned by the devs? I'm aware of the sleep mode bug, it enters sleep mode but then there is a weird clicking sound even with speakers off, which is concerning.

using a compaq armada 1592DT P1 233MMX for MSDOS and mid 90s games. Armada E500 for late 90s/early 2000s games. I still have this Gerricom P3 1ghz with an early radeon mobility, but something with the videochip is wrong, it freezes once the drivers are loaded.

I have this card and it works great. Mind you, I'm coming from a 20 year old xrom ezflash card, so it's an upgrade. So you've got a use an app to compile the games, and when you add new games it screws up the order, so you just cut/paste the whole directory again and you're good. Some games don't work, so you recompile them without the save or cheat options and they work. If i had one of the better cards to begin with I'm sure I'd hate this one, but for the price, and compared to my old one, this is great
