I particularly loved Sheogorath, Nocturnal and Boethiah. It was nice hearing a new take on Sheogorath's character, he sounded paranoid and truly unpredictable, I felt like he might snap at any second. Nocturnal felt like I was in the dark and a voice was coming from a far, just to whisper in my ear, it was hauning but not disturbing. It made me feel blind but reasured that I wasn't in direct danger, which is exactly how I feel nocturnal would speak. And Boethiah sounded so imposing and commanding, I really enjoyed the blend of the masculine and femenine voice, it felt powerful.
Your take on sheogorath was brilliant. I love wes johnson, but your take sounds like what I imagine a god of insanity would sound like. It has that soft chittering like a full on schizo would have.
It was very uncanny how Nocturnal sounded like she was being told what to say, like with the echo coming before her voice it’s like she’s just repeating words being whispered in her ear. Also enjoyed seeing another side of Sheogorath, because we only ever get to see the revelling memelord in the games. Presumably it’s because if we met his depressive or angry personas we wouldn’t survive.
My idea for Nocturnal at the time was that you'd hear (or feel) what she's about to say before she says it. Glad you liked Sheogorath. I feel like I could probably do a better job now.
Maybe Bethesda should bring you in to do some voicework for TES6, I really dig your take on Molag Bal. On another note, I hope they do more with Jyggalag next time around. Making him a throwaway antagonist for Shivering Isle was such a waste of a good concept.
Agreed, the daedric prince of order is almost exactly what you'd get from most lovecraftian invasion stories, except instead of marine life it's a bunch of crystals that try and violently convert you
I like your take on Sharogroth. instead of just being a demon Jester, he is a mixture of psychopath and schizophrenic. Which is kind of impossible as far as I know because schizophrenics sort of have a sort of runaway empathy where they see intent behind everything.
I like a lot of your takes, but not Molag Bal so much. I understand it's personal preference and it might be due to my preference for Michael Ironside's almost urbane Darkseid voice as opposed to the booming cartoonish versions DC uses nowadays, but I always like it when the tyrant is calm and smooth in his voice. It's so much more unsettling to me to imagine a voice like Skyrim's Molag Bal coming from a face like that.
