Revolutionary or OVERHYPED? - Nike Zoom Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite - Review + On Feet 

I could not believe my eyes! Although it was just for a split second, I'm so delighted to know that string bag ratings ARE BACK! 😆

Great to see both Adi and Nike at the pinnacle of innovation, both carbitex and air zoom is some seriously well designed and implemented tech

I think this boot really improved in cornering, mainly because of the stud pattern and the zoom unit because it springs down when stepping giving u a lower center of gravity and car people know that lower center of gravity gives better cornering and the fact that it's lighter means it could be a bit snappier. Just my thoughts though.

I feel like this is what the phantom GT should’ve been, a softer less aggressive Mercurial. They really veered off where they were heading w/ the mercurial with this one.

It was between the Mercurial Vapor and the Legend Tiempos. I absolutely loved the additional padding/cushion for high touch points on the boot for the tiempos. However, I felt the tiempos were ever so slightly more narrow/tight. The Mercurial Vapors were SUPER comfortable, to the point where I was shocked. It doesn't have additional padding or much protection vs the Tiempos. However, the comfort factor was enough for me to go with the Mercurials.

This boot is definitely one I will be picking up for fall season. Love the videos keep up the hard work.

Do you think the AG version will be as revolutionary AND feel the same as the FG version?

I think Nike lost a chance with this vapor without making it different from the superfly, except for the sock. I thought they could reintroduce the stand alone tongue as they did with the zoom ultra prototype

They need to go back to the upper that was used for the mercurial 13!! hugged the toe/metatarsal area so much better !

Do they still have the anatomical sole plate now there’s the zoom unit? Probably one of my favourite features of the past few vapors so I’d hope they’d keep it.

I am very conflicted about the idea behind the air unit. The whole concept of „bounce back“ or energy return works wonders if you run straight lines like marathon runners; exactly because of that compression and decompression system the nike alphaflys are without a doubt the „fastest running shoes“ in the world. But the nike alphaflys are also notoriously unstable, exactly because of that energy return system. Try and run a slalom in high speed with the alphaflys and you’ll end up with sprained ankles guaranteed. Now, the air technology in the new mercurials are either just a functionless gimmick or they actually work in some noticeable way (which btw if you actually feel the air unit, then there must be compression and decompression) which will eventually lead to instability. I am sure though that if the technology actually has an effect it’s probably minimal so the instability factor too. But going forward, I think this will end up a dead end for nike or one time swoop. These shoes will have no effect on speed like the alphaflys, obviously. But I also don’t think the boots have enough compression and decompression that its actually noticeable in a way that goes beyond the „placebo“ affect (I know the term is not 100% correct in this example, but you get the point). It is very likely this is just further marketing in the shadow of dynamic obsolescence.

I recently purchased a pair of Vapor 15 Elite and have encountered a problem. The collar is too wide and playing on synthetic is a problem since rubber pellets get in. Have any of you experienced the same problem ?

That mesh upper with a speed cage below it seems to be ‘borrowed’ from the Puma Ultra 1.3/1.4 formula. Even the upper material looks a bit similar.

I’m hoping zoom finds its way to the next Tiempo.

So I just wanted to know if you notice the same thing. I've worn Vapors before and they fit nicely after broken in. Maybe the tech is cool but Something about it just doesnt sit right with me. I'm usually the 1st to get the new boots as i'm a Superfly/Merc fanatic but I think i'll stick to the superfly 8.

Hey Josh I don't know if you have access to a decathlon store. If you do it would be really interesting if you could test a few pairs of their in house football boot brand KIPSTA. If I remember correctly you already tested Walmart as well as Sports Direct (Sondico) football boots and I enjoyed both videos. While the quality of those brands was not on par with products from the main sportwear giants, I am quite optimistic with decathlon. They tend to use latest tech in their products while offering them for half the price. I haven't tried their footballboots yet, but I have tried the top end products of their in house tennis (Artengo) as well as padel tennis (Kuikma) lines. For those sports at least in my opinion there is nothing better in terms of value for money. I also heard positive reviews about their in house bicycle brands. That's why I would love to hear your opinion about their football boots
