Bravo!! Fantastic instructions . The quality and precision of Instructions in Iyengar Yoga is really what sets it apart from other Asana systems and you embody this knowledge wonderfully, Heather. Only a highly experienced teacher will know what exactly to convey in this "beginner" pose .Thanks you so much for sharing your knowledge with those of us who will probably never make it to the Pune institute but are still able to sit at home and get some idea of what it would feel like to be there. This pose was a real messy one for me. This breakdown helps me tremendously. 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it. It helps me to know that what I am offering here is of value. 🙏 And yes Iyengar Yoga does offer such high quality and precise instruction which is of great benefit. It is a wonderful lineage to be a part of 😀 Im glad this video helped you. 🕉
Hi @shoppersdream I have a video titled "How to do plough pose" here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-70KHMuHRfto.html You could use the wall instead of a chair or you could start lying with the legs up the wall, press the feet to the wall in order to lift the hips and then take the feet over to the chair as demonstrated in this tutorial. Hopefully this helps.
See if you can press strongly into the back heel. If that's difficult, turn the heel in more eg if your back foot is your left foot turn your heel more in toward the right side to see if you can plug it down firmly. Alternatively place your heel onto a small brick or book, or even a skirting board in order to get a sense of plugging the back heel down. Hope that helps 😀🙏
