Note: I forgot that 8-Ball's mouth is hollow when he speaks, so for the first 5 episodes of this rewrite his mouth is fully colored in (Not a big fan of it).
I actually really like this, it's way better than the actual show handled it. It improves both 8-Ball and Golfball, and it gives the other team members, like Robot Flower, Tennis Ball, and TV more things to do. Robot Flower and TV siding more with GB is really natural, and Basketball, Blocky, and Grassy siding with 8-Ball makes a lot of sense. If the show handled this rivalry like this, I think 8-Ball wouldn't be nearly as hated as he once was, and probably could've lasted a lot longer in the game (possibly to the split)!
I can do the analysis of 8-Ball. The guy wasn't wanting to mess up the team, he was just socially dumb. In BFB 1, after the two BFDI balls died by Blocky's hand, 8-Ball made the plan to give their team safety, making everyone think of him as a better fit leader due to not being pushy. However, even though 8-Ball looks like he agrees, he feels like he isn't fit due to only making one suggestion. So instead, he decides to try and help Golf Ball by joking around, saying the opposite of what she says. Unfortunately, the team listens to 8-Ball, and he has to look like he meant to make the suggestion. He doesn't realize how monotone his voice is. And his joking leads to his team almost losing in BFB 4, causing him to break down and apologize, admitting every suggestion he made against Golf Ball the past two episodes were just sarcasm, trying to help lift his team's spirits. He tries goving the leadership role back to GB, while trying to make it clearer he was joking by saying the opposite of every word Golf Ball said in her commands. But these two actions were in the same episode, so GB did not have enough time to get over it. 8-Ball decides to just stop from then on, instead focusing on helping his team in BFB 6 and 7. In BFB 8's elimination, 8-Ball responds to Basketball's worry only because if GB left, he'd probably be back in the leader seat, actually leading well this time. Unfortunately for the billiard ball, he got out and was crushed by the moon thanks to Donut, and Saw inhaled the fumes that would make her have the 8 gag. (And for some reason, people like APOY blame 8-Ball for that) In TPOT 11, it's shown that he can be selfless, wanting to help the other EXITors escape even if his group couldn't. That seems pretty good. 8-Ball was not trying to mess his team up. The only reason he actually got eliminated in BFB 8 was because it was the 8th episode. He got eliminated with the lowest percentage of votes in pre-split. I hope this helps, and I hope you like my analysis of this pool ball's character.
We need to wait until IDFB continues to learn more about Golfball before she joined BFDI, What happened in the museum, and how old she actually is because in the BFDI book of Tips and Tricks the book is created by Golf Ball and is over a million years old.
