I always thought that bringing Darth Plageuis back as the main villain of the sequels was a great idea: it links the entire saga together and would made sense that his dabbling in immortality would have actually worked, allowing him to survive Palpatine's attack.
Okay, so let me first say that I love this rewrite. As with your rewrites of episodes VII and VIII, it fixes almost every problem I had with the existing movie. However, I have one idea for something you should change. Ben Solo should not be redeemed by a vision of Han Solo. Instead, he should be redeemed by the ghost of the man he's been trying (and failing) to emulate for the past two movies: Anakin Skywalker. Seriously, it makes perfect sense. Instead of that weird Force-vision thing with Han, we could have gotten Anakin telling Ben to "finish what he started"...by finally destroying what's left of the Sith. EDIT: Oh, and another thing. Chewie should get some sort of emotional moment with Kylo-Ren. Nando V Movies came up with an idea for a scene in which Kylo-Ren has captured Chewie and is interrogating him, but Chewie scolds Kylo for betraying his family and killing Han, which helps create more doubt and conflict in his mind. And Chewie should escape by fighting the Knights of Ren, who in this version should have more distinct personalities and fighting styles rather than being background characters.
Thank you Elijah! Some interesting ideas! I like the idea that Chewie wants revenge on Kylo over the death of Han but learns to forgive him by the end of episode 9. Giving Chewie more of an arc throughout all three films.
This was a great rewrite. However, one thing I wished you did was have Anakin’s force ghost return to defeat Plagueis instead of Rey. It would have made much more sense since Anakin is the chosen one and it would have been a much better ending for the Skywalker Saga for Anakin to fulfill his prophecy once and for all.
Well this is quite the rewrite! I’ve been needing to watch all three of them but I’ve been busy. I must say it was definitely worth the wait. I love how you implemented the Duel of the Fates script, The Rise of Skywalker script, and your own ideas. That's exactly what I’m doing for my re-edit of The Rise of Skywalker. Great minds think alike! Honestly, That’s probably the best thing you can do. I’ve seen so many writers completely disregard the Sequel trilogy’s ideas and start from scratch. As talented as that may be, it’s always refreshing seeing someone respecting the films they are rewriting, even when the film wasn’t enjoyable for them. And I must say I was pleasantly surprised to see Plagueis here, it was a good twist right off the bat. Keep up the great work!
@@gatsby798 Of course! I've been going through RU-vid, checking out a lot of the rewrites on the sequels to figure out the best way to go about my re-edit. And I stumbled upon yours and genuinely enjoy them. I've actually watched them about twice now, treating them like a podcast.
@@nathanhills336 again I will say that is high praise! I’ve checked out your transformers videos and they are really good! I don’t know if I will ever cover transformers on my channel. Would need to do a lot of research! If you need any help or question with your re-edit I’m always happy to help and would love to make a video with you sometime. Cheers Nathan hope you’re doing ok 👌
The return of Darth Plagueis is interesting because in The Last Jedi the concept of the appearance of the Spirit of the Sith Lord was considered, which was supposedly responsible for influencing Snoke. It is not certain who this ghost was, but it could have been Plagueis.
That's one of the best sequel trilogy rewrites I've seen, every minute was worth it. Just a few points that I think could improve it: 1. After being saved by Rey, Kylo should have seen Luke and Leia's ghosts and not Han (because he being a vision makes us think that it's just Kylo forgiving himself), and after they talk to him, Anakin's spirit should appear and explain the truth about his redemption and that he didn't reach to him earlier because Plagueis was blocking him and, now as Kylo was close to death, the spirits managed to get to him 2. Ben Solo shouldn't appear alongside Rey in the end because, even though he was redeemed, he is still a war criminal, he should be imprisioned for the rest of his life. He should either die or be visited by Rey in prision in the epilogue 3. The final battle could show the spirits using the force to do a kind of exorcism in Plagueis and not just be like cheerleaders for Rey. This would both make them more proeminent and also garantee that Plagueis' spirit would never come back to life
for Episode 9, i wanted it to be called the Black Order, referring to the Knights of Ren, more on that later, i wanted the Hutts and the Night Sisters of Dathomir to hear Leia's message and take revenge on her for killing Jabba and her friend killing Darth Maul, that would have a massive star fleet battle between Nal Hutta star ships and the Rebel fleet and the Night Sisters using force magic to attack Rey on a planet below , wherever that was, and i wanted the Knights of Ren to take Kylo to Korriban to reveal their true master to him, Darth Jar Jar, who we can see in Episode 8 , in a black robe, you can see his yellow eyes for a moment in the red room behind some instruments wearing all black, remote controlling the dead corpse of some guy they called Snoke. in a book they said old Jar Jar was talking with young Kylo.
We all had that same feeling going to see Episode 3; like it was going to a funeral. At least we were pleasantly surprised in the theaters when we saw it, but definitely not with this one.
This rewrite would be completely correct the sequels. Your best idea is Plagues, why Disney didn't think of that I don't know. I have always thought of just even correcting the sequels with some minor changes. The biggest is Kylo being the main character instead of Rey. For the TFA it would be virtually the same, but Kylo kills Finn off when he strikes him and Rey barely escaping with no training. TLJ, there are many many thing's to not include e.g. the lightsaber throw, corny lines and Han surviving with a reunion with Luke and Leia. TROS, your idea with Plagues replacing Palpatine, seeing much more of Rey's force lightning, Anakin being a force ghost as you know he is the chosen one and last but not least, the film being 1 hour longer as it was the most rushed film I have ever seen...
I feel like it makes sense for Luke to have caught the lightsaber because it lines up with what obi wan said to Vader in a new hope, how he would become more powerful than Vader could possibly imagine. Also, I feel that with force ghosts there are certain parameters or restraints that they have to follow or choose to follow due to having an elevated awareness and knowledge of the force’s will and space time itself, and they probably can’t or choose not to directly interfere with galactic events that happen after their death.
My big problem with Episode 9 was the ridiculous size of the dark side fleet. The number of star destroyers was laughable. Maybe scale that back to like 20-25 or so.
This was great too! I love that Finn was a Jedi. I wish he had more to do (like a stormtrooper rebellion) but him having an actual arc is awesome too. I think that's one thing they got wrong with the trilogy there were some many characters they wanted to audience to be invested in that the more they did something for one the more another would fall to the side. For me (if I was doing a rewrite) I would've had Kylo be the big bad at the end of the 3rd movie. I liked him most as a villain and didn't think a redemption arc was necessary or earned. For all the issues I had with TLJ having him set up to be the final boss was something I was here for. Thank you for taking the time to do this a sharing! It was great.
I would explain the whole summoning lightning and interacting with objects as they can due to the fact Ach-To has a very powerful connection to the Force.
I like most of the changes you made, but... it still feels identical to the film we got. There's way too much for me to run down with what I didn't like, but one thing I did like was the inclusion of Darth Plagueis was neat. Although at the end I would've had Rey say she was Rey Plagueis instead of Skywalker. That way it can keep the whole thing about it doesn't matter which family you're born into or not. It is ultimately you who chooses which path to take. So Rey takes that name she (apparently comes from) and seeks to use it to build good in the galaxy. That's just my two cents. Overall I liked this Trilogy Rewrite.
Nice Video - By the way, the reason Luke could pick up a lightsaber as well as use the force is that tat planet resides the first Jedi temple and it is strong with the force even force ghosts could use it. Like many things, it wasn't ever explained...
Could you tell why not a lot of people liked the kiss scene between Kylo Ren and Rey? I didn't mind it but I'm not what you would call a Reylo fan (I don't know why there has to be a lable) but to me it's just that they interacted well enough with each other that it wouldn't look that weird if they became a couple at in my opinion. I probably wouldn't make them kiss though maybe at the very least just have them hold hands.
It just felt forced to me. When I look back at what they went through in TFA and TLJ I just felt the kiss didn’t feel earned but that’s just my opinion.
@@gatsby798 okay I understand. I'm just glad you didn't try to insult me or discriminate me because I had someone said to me that they have no hope for me in life when I expressed my thoughts on the romance in the sequel trilogy being better than the romance in the prequel trilogy. Thank you have a nice day
Yeah a lot of rewrites have Leia die at the start off screen which I’m not a fan of but I wanted our heroes to be at the lowest point (loss of Luke and leia) before being inspired by Ghost Luke, “no ones ever really gone” and Lando (when he inspires Poe).
I haven’t really been a fan of Leia’s off screen too. It doesn’t seem right to kill of a massive character off screen than lazily bring up the fact that Leia is dead. I love what you did with Luke in your rewrite it just feels right. His death in 8 was very strange and felt like it was just to kill off Luke. The inclusion of Luke on the mission makes it feel like Obi-Wan in A New Hope and his death obviously is too. It’s what everyone wanted from Luke in the sequels. All in all great work and I look forward to seeing your next projects.
I liked the force awakens it was a decent start and I hate the last jedi and love it. For me last jedi is the worse of the Skywalker saga films and destroys a lot but it’s a guilty pleasure for me
Well I thought since Luke survived in my version of the last Jedi and was around to actually train her I thought it gave her more of a reason to take the name at the end. Rather than knowing him for the length of time in the actual films.
@@gatsby798 plagueis used marw jade to gestate rey and he anded some adn from luke to make her more powerfull. Another idea, the final battle wasnt only in exegol or coruscant, but all the galaxy was in war.
