Man,i just started(2,5 months) shaving with a safety razor brush and soap. I already have 3 soaps a pre shave, 3 after shaves and 1 eu de cologne. Nobody told me this was addicting!!hahahha. Im enjoying every shave!
I got the T3 yesterday. Amazing brush and gonna shave with it today using my AS D2 feather with a Tiger blade just to see what a tiger blade feels like compared to feather or Kai.
Rex razors are such all-American classics. That itself is a big part of their appeal to me. And stainless steel razors are always hard to resist. I love them dearly. I now think the Envoy is actually a better deal than the Ambassador. It’s basically the same razor - the only difference being that the Ambassador is adjustable, the Envoy is not. But the Envoy is exactly half the price. And a ‘medium’ setting is just alright. I’m getting it soon. Thanks Geo for this great shave review and helping me decide.
Geo, I've had my eye on this one for a few weeks now. The full beard you shaved off should match my every other day coarse hair shaves. Looks like a purchase button is getting pushed soon, suh'!
Hi Geo, I received this razor yesterday and was amazed at how efficient it was. Beautifully engineered razor. I like my T3 brush too. Another great video Sir! Dave.
I received my Rex Envoy yesterday. It's not really mild but it is incredibly efficient. The quality or the tooling is superb! Very impressed as it was my first shave with it. Dave.
I noticed in many videos that these simpson brushes do not really hold on to the lather very well. Cream flies all of over the place and yet most of the reviews are praising the brushes. Isnt that a deal breaker?
What do you think of 6S vs Envoy besides adjustability? Does the finish of Envoy makes it glide smoother? Does one shave better than the other? I am using 6C, in a dilemma whether I should get 6S for cheap or save up for Envoy in the future.
Envoy is not adjustable, 6S is flippable... If you already have a flippable razor then go for the envoy: shavenation.com/products/rex-envoy-safety-razor-choose-your-serial-number
I bought a sample pack of blades and in there was a a pack of astra blades I noticed numbers denoting 1 and 2 in previous reviews not these blades had no numbers can anyone enlighten me.
Hy Geo, I just purchased the Simpson Polo12 wich is a hudge brush, and i got this problem with my brush stand it simply wont fit in there, so maybe you can help me on this one. Thank you, Best regards from Austria Vienna, Saša
Hi geofatboy, I have suffered with skin issues for about 25 years now - acne and seborrheic dermatitis on the face. I have always shaved with cartridge razors. I am going to buy a safety razor and was thinking of getting the Edwin Jagger DE89 (I watched your video on it) - would you recommend this one to me? Also what shaving cream would you recommend me? I was thinking to find a shaving cream or gel or foam whatever without oil and without alcohol and SLS and without any other ingredients that may irritate my skin but is proving difficult for me to find such a product. I look forward to your reply. Many thanks.
Geo only knows about quality products. Aliexpress products aren’t welcome at shave nation, and thats a good thing! Yaqi is Chinese sweatshop stuff booooooooo 👎🏻 Rex is American as Apple Pie, yaaaaaayyyyy!!!!! 👍🏼 Just Kidding Erick I’d say the knight helmet is a little more aggressive but the envoy is not a mild razor
I have both the Envoy and the Feather (and the Rex Ambassador too). Out of all 3, the Envoy is nice and simple, beautifully weighted and gives a great shave. True what he says about it being same as a 3 on the Ambassador. Both Rex Razors outshave the Feather by miles in my opinion.
@@geofatboy it wasn't until yesterday that I saw the ones that are affordable. When I first visited ur website the cheapest showed a $60 something but it wasn't until I type ur website in on Google and scroll down and clicked safety razor than I found less expensive ones. Ur website is quite nice, there are so many nice looking razors too chose from. I'm definitely planning on buying from ur website.
Hope we get to see you cut your hair again! My wife would like to ask if you have anything for women? Perhaps your wife could do some shows for the gals!!! I do like the Envoy. Do you ship to Canada?
Really? Another haircut video? OK-I have something in mind for another one. Thanks. And- we do have an entire ladies section for her to check out: shavenation.com/collections/ladies
Hi geo I'm a new subscriber.. I'd like to thank you for introducing me to DE shaving.. Had my first shave with the muhle r89 yesterday and I'm hooked. Really enjoying the content so keep it up mate. Also I've just placed an order for the indestructbowl and a couple of alum sticks... I'm in the UK so can't wait to receive them!
I just started DE shaving a little over a month ago, also have the Muhle R89. Still trying to find a soap and blade I like. I notice shaving is something I look forward to now instead of finding excuses to not shave like I did with disposables
"Small foot print on your sink top" 😂 That’s the largest razor stand that I have ever seen!! And yes, I got it and compare it to my Timeless, Karve, Blackland stands 😊
9:07 - let's be honest. It's taking off your beard that good mainly because you using feather blade. Razor always playing secondary role as a blade holder. Yes there's factors like a blade gap, exposure, angle of the razor. That's play it's part also. But feather blade is the feather blade. It would cut great even if you use it in the mildest razors.
Hey Geo. Do you sell a stand for the Simpson. T-3? I sent your business the same question and received a recommendation for a $50 stand. I’m not interested in paying $50 for a $35 brush. Do you have something more reasonable? Oh, I did buy my T-3 from you.
I’m completely new to DE shaving, but I think I’d like to start with this razor, from Shave Nation. You have the serial number of my address, and your business is right up the road a bit from my mom. It’s fate.
How aggressive is this razor? I have the Edwin Jagger DE89. Is it about the same, more or less aggressive? I use the Astra Superior Platinum blades (green box).
Humphrey Bogart maybe? 😊 Question, which will be softer and less ‘scratchy’, Simpson synthetic trafalgar T2 or their chubby 2 synthetic? Grateful for anyone’s views please.
It's definitely the Chubby 2 Synthetic. bit.ly/Chubby2SyntheticBrushSN My opinion and several others who are proud owners of both. bit.ly/TrafalgarSyntheticBrushSN
I have both the Rockwell 6S and the Rex Envoy. Both are good razors. The Rockwell is not as aggressive as the Envoy. To me the Envoy seems to be between a Rockwell 4 to 5 plate. The 6S is my daily driver.
Pity the shipping costs are so prohibitive but it does look like a nice razor - I have the standard Rex Ambassador one and it is perfect though my go-to at the moment is the Feather popular or the Rockwell Model T but I do like the TOBS my favourite cream :-D
Yo Geo, I am new to wet shaving and probably too young for it😂(17 years old) Ι got a TOBS st. James collection and I want to know what you think... Can you please do a shave using this cream (and Lucky tiger bay rum afterwards).... I would love to see it,cheers form Greece🖐🖐🖐
Nice video as always. Man down! Lmao how does this compare in your opinion to the ambassador? And how does the fatboy rate compared to the ambassador? Thanks
Hi Geo- Great shave and razor review; thank you! The Envoy is definitely a beautiful razor and built like a tank. I hope you are doing well. Take good care, be safe and have a great weekend ahead. Best regards, as always, Geo!
Hi geo, I have a problem. I’m choosing between buying a t2 or t3. I wanted to know if there is any difference performance wise, besides just travel? I’m not sure if one can recommend the t2 if you have a smaller face or smaller beard. I want to get the t3, and my face is long, but my facial is thin. Hope you can help, thanks! I’m buying my supplies from shave nation, by the way!
