Great review- thank you! We have new packaging come out soon for all products (will replace both envoy and ambassador current packaging) and I think people will really like it. Hate to say it but the envoy box is a "temp" box so to speak. Customers will be able to purchase the new packaging for a nominal cost (I think around $5) if they so wish.
My Envoy came in a really nice box with firm foam that the razor sits in snuggly and won't move or drop out if held upside down. My first proper shave with it today (I had done a half & half shave against my Outlaw). I used a new Gillette Nacet blade and proraso white soap. A really close smooth shave. This razor reminds me of a surgical instrument. Beautiful machining and Tollerances. Dave.
It's a stunning razor!! I know they gave recently updated the packaging so the whole experience is a very positive one. Can easily recommend this razor to anyone. Glad you are enjoying yours! 🍻
Glad I found this channel and thoroughly detialed review. You just gained a subscriber, and Matt/Razor Emporium will have an order placed this week. Remain safe and sound, sir!
Great review, Tim. I like the den shave (doesn't echo as it does in the bathroom), and it's very reminiscent of the way Matt from Razor Emporium does his reviews (apt considering that you're reviewing the Envoy). In a vacuum where the Ambassador didn't exist, the Envoy would have been an absolute no-brainer. However, I personally couldn't justify getting the Envoy already being an Ambassador owner. Nonetheless, I'm glad that this offering exists.
You left no stone unturned Tim! This video is the definition of what a review video must be. 👌 I have a feeling that you are much more happy with the Envoy than the Ambassador. I would say that it's a more friendly razor without loosing any efficiency. As for the case... a handmade leather case is on its way for mine. 😉
Leather case! Very nice 👌🏻 and thank you sir! I was much more pleased with the overall experience with the Rex Envoy in comparison to the Ambassador. It just doesn’t seem to be as picky but still gives you a portion of the Ambassador experience in both shave quality and craftsmanship.
Great review. After watching your video I almost want to get one but I can't since I have the Rex ambassador so I'll stick with that on setting 3 if I need my envoy fix :) Great shave!
Haha thank you Raza! I always appreciate all of your support! It’s definitely tempting to want to own both, they are incredibly well made. Just glad I at least own the Envoy!
Great video Tim. I enjoyed this video in the Den. Nice to see your collection behind you. Out of curiosity what is the date code of the Rex Ambassador you reviewed?
The Shaving Tulsan I’ve got a P1 and I’m finding it still the same way but I’ve only tried a few different blades. Like you said it’s really subjective in the end when it comes to blades. For me Voshkod has given me great shaved but a persona red was harsh in this razor. I’ll try a feather next and see what that’s like. I use a feather in the EJ 3one6 and it’s smooth.
@@TheShavingTulsan don’t forget … you had nearly 1000 followers. You did something well:-) i always enjoyed your videos with that nice relaxing background music.
Hi Tim, do you mind if I ask you about some razor? I saw that you have used the ambassador and wondered if you have already shaved with the rockwell T2, so what's the best between this two?
Ambassador is a razor with both aggression/blade feel. It really depends on what you like. I know plenty of guys that lean towards more blade feel, keeps you aware of where the blade is and what it's cutting. Even at the lowest setting it is one of the more aggressive razors I've used. I tried the Model T and would pass on that, but have not tried the newest iteration, the T2. Hopefully they've fixed my gripes that I had with the Model T.
